Background: The core and the shoulder are the focal points of the sporting gesture in swimming and their close connection allows the swimmer to express all his performance skills. For this reason, when one of these two components in dysfunctional, it can also compromise the other. Over the years, both the core and the shoulder have only been studied separately, so understanding their possible correlation is essential in order to improve not only the evaluation but also the treatment of these athletes. The aim of this study is to evaluate and analyze the presence of the correlation between scapular dyskinesia and core inefficiency in a group of swimmers. Methods: The athletes were evaluated through the use of test batteries developed through the analysis of scientific literature and through validated evaluation scales. The tests used concerned: the analysis of the scapular pattern, specific tests for scapular dyskinesia, differential evaluation tests with shoulder restrictions and impingement and core evaluation tests. Results: The athletes evaluated had a mean age of 16.93 at the time of data collection, with a range from 16 to 18 years. Ten athletes showed a type I scapular pattern; in fifteen they showed the presence of scapular dyskinesia while for the evaluation of the core in the majority they showed an inefficiency with chronometric times that are positioned below the average. No athlete showed positive differential tests for shoulder restraints and impingement. Conclusions: Data analysis showed that, in the group examined, there is indeed the presence of scapular dyskinesia and core inefficiency. The limit of this study concerns a possible generalization of the parameters sought, for this reason it would be useful in future research to investigate this correlation also in different swimming realities in order to be able to overcome this limitation and increase knowledge to improve both the functional evaluation and the subsequent treatment.

Spasmodic dysphonia (SD) is a debilitating condition characterized by involuntary closure of the vocal folds, leading to strained and choked speech. Current treatment options have limitations and require repeated interventions. However, recent studies have shown that high-frequency peripheral somatosensory stimulation is able to modulate neuronal discharge at the somatomotor cortical level and positively influence motor output and therefore SD symptoms. This study investigates the potential of laryngeal vibrotactile stimulation (VTS) as a non-invasive treatment for SD. A custom device was used to apply high-frequency vibrations to the larynx of three female patients with adductor-type SD. The patients underwent VTS treatment once a day for four weeks. Four parameters were used to assess vocal quality: Acoustic Voice Quality Index (AVQI), Cepstral Peak Prominence Smoothed (CPPS), number of voice interruptions (Voice Breaks), and perceptual evaluation using the GIRBAS scale. The results showed improvements in all parameters following VTS treatment, indicating enhanced phonatory function quality and speech stability. These findings highlight the potential of VTS to alleviate symptoms in individuals diagnosed with adductor-type SD.

IntroductionThe legitimation of a profession provides for legal, formative, ethical, self-regulating and socially recognized development, which must pass through the appropriate mass media communication channels. The purpose of this study is to investigate the way in which the profession of physiotherapist and physiotherapy as a science are communicated in the newspapers.MethodsA cross-sectional, descriptive, structured, anonymous, non-funded survey was conducted through the analysis of articles in the daily newspaper "La Repubblica" in 2 distinct periods. A 21-item questionnaire was used, in which a distinction was made between semantic characteristics and content. The differences in the way the physiotherapist as a professional and the discipline of physiotherapy as a science are evaluated before and after the recognition of the professional profile in Italy (1994).ResultsThere is an improvement in the way the physiotherapist as a professional is communicated (from 14.6% to 25%), while physiotherapy as a science does not show any significant changes (from 19.5% to 22.2%). There is a meaningful improvement in the communication of various fields from few to multiple. A significant article in communicating educational aspects is often associated with the transmission of the value of Physiotherapy in research (VC 0.598), and the same association occurs between prevention and education (VC 0.552), autonomy of the physiotherapist and communication of the physiotherapist as professional (VC 0.503).DiscussionThe evolution of the profession and of the discipline over time was not matched by an adequate improvement in communication by the newspapers. The term rehabilitation cannot be distinctive from nor synonymous with the discipline of physiotherapy, of which it is an integral part but which cannot be defined by it.

School is a central life experience in the developmental age. Specific Learning Disorders can make the school process more difficult and strenuous, generating considerable emotional complications that involve the student’s own image, his way of “perceiving” school events, as well as learning and study motivation. Emotional distress secondary to SLDs is an aspect that is frequently underestimated but must instead be examined with great caution because it has important implications for health and psychosocial functioning. In the context of treating individuals with SLD, neuropsychomotor therapy represents an important therapeutic means to support the acquisition of the skills and competencies needed to cope more effectively with both the challenge of learning at school and the related emotional and motivational distress.

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically altered the provision of routine medical services and has imposed unprecedented challenges on the healthcare system. This contingency inevitably also had repercussions on the management of patients with dysphagia resulting from head and neck tumors. Technology has provided many useful tools to stem this discomfort and among them, the creation of an app seemed to us an advantageous way to go. The theoretical conceptualization underlying the birth of this project is represented, on the first step, by the observation that mobile apps for smartphones provide an ideal platform for providing educational support to patients; second step, the patients need to have these informations. A need that has certainly increased during the health emergency, as patients were unable to have easy access to the hospitals where they were followed up during the follow-up. It is important to emphasize that this tool is not a substitute for the direct relationship with the speech therapist, nor is it presented to patients as an alternative to it; however, it can be considered as a constant and continuous support to the patient and his family, as it represents one of the useful tools to best combine the existing professionalism and the needs of patients with swallowing disorders and those who care for them, exploiting the progress of technology. We tried to quantify the benefit received by the patient to assess how much SwallowAPP (the name we gave to the aforementioned App) can impact on the perception of care received at a time unfavorable to face-to-face relationships. In the same way, we evaluated the ease of use of the system, a fundamental requirement for its acceptance by the user. From the careful analysis of the work carried out, SwallowAPP has shown that implementing the quality of care provided to the swallowing disorders during the early stages of subsequent follow-up to surgery, it had a strong impact especially on the patient's quality of life.

Executive functions (EF) play a fundamental role when it is necessary to implement behaviors aimed at achieving a goal; they are in fact widely studied and described in the literature, especially within neurodevelopment. Matura-tion of executive functions is described as a key component of typical as well as atypical development; their deficit is found in numerous neurodevelopmental and behavioral disorders. There are studies in literature that are intere-sted in the impairment of executive functions in Autism and Generalized Developmental Disorders (DGS). These disorders include a spectrum of clinical pictures characterized by social impairments, communicative impairments, restricted interests and stereotyped behaviors (Valeri, 2006), (APA - Amerian Psychiatric Association, 2013). However, none of these studies concerns the Italian pre-school population nor does it use assessment tools born in the Italian context; the studies in question also find confirmation above all in research conducted on adolescent and adult patients, while studies conducted with pre-school children provide conflicting results (Griffith, et al., 1999). Both in relation to these contradictory results and to the highly adaptive role of this domain for so-cio affective development, learning and quality of life, this study stands as a contribution to the research on exe-cutive function disorders on a sample of children with Generalized Developmental Disorder (DGS) in preschool age (3-6 years), with the aim of providing operational reflections for the best practice for functional assessment in the presence of this disorder, adding useful knowledge to Developmental Neuro and Psychomotor Therapist when drafting his own rehabilitation program. To meet the identified objectives, a sample with a diagnosis of Genera-lized Developmental Disorder (11 subjects) and a control sample, which did not present any neurodevelopmental disorder (39 subjects), were selected. The evaluation tool used is the Battery for the evaluation of executive func-tions in preschool age (FE-PS 2-6; Usai et al. 2017), intentionally selected among the tools developed in the Italian context and specific for the preschool age. The test results, taken from the Battery reference manual, were sub-jected to statistical analysis and subsequently to qualitative analysis, aimed at detecting further aspects of interest on the evolutionary profiles. 2 The research results show a difference in the average performance of the subjects belonging to the DGS group, which appear to be globally lower than those of the subjects belonging to the control group. Particular difficulties are found in all inhibition processes and are above all the characteristics of impulsi-vity and the management of interference. The greatest difficulty in children behavior therefore appears to be pre-sent in their ability to initiate a response and to inhibit actions in the service of general goals to be achieved. This difficulty appears as a dysfunct

Introduction Radiology departments played a crucial role during the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic providing imaging to help physicians managing the infected patients. This scenario affected healthcare workers (HCWs) during their daily activities. Therefore, the scope of this study was to evaluate the operating procedures, the acquisition protocols for x-ray and CT examinations for infected patients and the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) software e during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Materials and methods This survey was designed by some Italian scientific associations of radiographers. The questionnaire was administered via social media and the targeted population was all the HCWs working within the Radiology Departments in Italy and the questionnaire was available online from January to March 2022. Demographic and epidemiological data, number of radiographers, x-ray and CT methods of investigation, protocols used in x-ray and / or CT and Artificial Intelligence software applied in the radiology department were the sessions of the survey.
ResultsComparisons between participants that work in public versus private healthcare facilities were carried out using chisquare tests and Fisher tests. The responders were 1376 and 73.7% of them worked in public healthcare facilities. Private healthcare facilities had fewer CT scanners available in general (p < 0,001), hence only 18% of them affirmed to have 2 or more CT scanners, and not have CT scanners dedicated to confirmed or suspected Covid-19 patients only (p < 0,001). 66.3% of the participants stated that only one radiographer was involved in the execution of portable CXR (chest x-ray) for infected patients.
ConclusionsThis survey highlighted how radiographers adjusted their acquisition protocols when it came to acquire portable or standard CXR and chest CT scans for infected patients over the different waves of the Covid-19 pandemic. Using dedicated equipment, adopting tailored scanning protocol and implementing AI software were the main strategies applied.

IntroductionAs well known, to this day, the figure of school doctor is absent and much less physical activity is carried out in primary schools. For this reason, the Italian National Fair Play Committee, a meritorious association legally recognized, founded in 1994, in full synergy with Sport and Health, with CONI, Federations and Sports Promotion Bodies, aware of its vocational role, since 2010 had proceeded to establish "Medici Fair Play", as a not just conceptual defense, to integrate the precious action carried out by sports medicine with the verification of suitability for the practice. Aim of the studyThrough a screening project focused on postural problems, named "IOCHIRON, POSTURE IS HEALTH", we prepared a real cornerstone for health prevention and for charitable and useful purposes for the Higher Institute of Health. The initiative provides for a national screening activity in the three-year period 2022-2024, through an assessment with non-invasive tests, to study the structural level posture of over 7 million children and adolescents. This educational path aims to prevent wrong postures in children and adolescents, between 6 and 15 years of age, who are at the peak of growth, with a huge benefit on possible pathologies that could be found when adult, thus saving high costs to the SSN (or NHS).MethodsThe presented observational study represents the first experience carried out by the CeFiRR Structure (Center for Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation) at Gemelli Molise S.p.A. 120 school-age subjects were evaluated through a BioPostural questionnaire and an observational form which provided for the evaluation of the asymmetries of: shoulders, scapula, pelvis, knees, hindfoot, trunk rotation (through a scoliosometer), posterior overhang (through the plumb line) and the plantar vault (through static barodopometry). The outcome measures were calculated on the basis of the number of "YES" responses of the BioPostural questionnaire, and on the basis of the number of "YES" evaluations of the observational form. From the interdisciplinary communication and the interpretation of the outcome measures, Posture was classified the in: Asymmetrical, Dysfunctional and Pathological.ResultsThe 42% of the examined subjects presented a shoulder asymmetry (bisacromial line) and a pelvis asymmetry (bisiliac line); the 33% presented a scapulae asymmetry (lower angle of the scapula); and the 9% of the examined subjects presented a flattening of the plantar vault. The BioPostural Questionnaire reflected what was subsequently observed with the observational form and in particular for the number of affirmative answers recorded, it did not suggest further insights into any subject through a Digitalized Biometric analysis, but it highlighted an important number of subjects in the sample who reported: low back pain (85), neck-pain while studying or reading (68). Conclusions The retrospective observational study showed the possibility of observing the adolesce

Introduction: The Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has altered the perception of the current National Health Service (SSN). On one hand, the importance of a free and always accessible SSN for everyone has been strengthened. On the other hand, the fragility of a system with a too specialized and hospital-centered approach has become evident. In the pandemic context, the need to reverse the model by focusing on the needs of the community has become clear, with the main aim of promoting home-based management as much as possible for both chronic and acute conditions. This can be achieved through the creation of an integrated network involving all stakeholders in the care and assistance process, utilizing new technologies and telemedicine systems.Materials and Methods: The aim of this activity was to delve into an integrated network model for home care of Covid patients, within ASL Napoli 2 Nord. This model utilizes interconnected and functionally integrated structures and nodes, with defined pathways and operational procedures based on dedicated telemedicine platforms. These platforms facilitate the comprehensive management and care of Covid-19 patients by all network stakeholders. Results were monitored using specific and dedicated indicators, collecting and analysing data from the period when the care of positive Covid patients began (November 2020), whose management did not require hospitalization. Results: From November 2020 to December 2021, the number of patients living in the ASL Napoli 2 Nord territory under home management included Home Health Care Units (USCA), non-ambulatory residential facilities undergoing non-pharmacological therapy (TNF), non-ambulatory vaccinated individuals receiving home vaccination, and vaccinated individuals in residential facilities, amounted to 38,223. Among these, 37.8% (14,476) tested positive for Covid. The total number of accesses during this period was approximately 94,000, encompassing various types of care provided (TNF at home, TNF in facilities, home management of Covid+ patients, vaccinations in facilities, vaccinations at home for non-ambulatory patients). The shift has been significant, transitioning from managing the entirety of patients in hospitals to slightly over 4.5% of the total managed from December 2020 to December 2021. Conclusions: The sensitivity of healthcare managers during the pandemic period translated into the realization that the focus of the National Health System (SSN) and the Regional Health System (SSR) needed to shift, directing efforts increasingly towards the implementation of local healthcare policies. The high number of hospitalizations recorded was not solely due to the increased number of infections, but also to the challenges faced in providing home care. Creating, developing, and continually implementing an interdisciplinary and interprofessional network, coupled with the development of technological infrastructures and more, ensured the ability to address the emergency.
