. Testing natural antihyperlipidemic substances is necessary due to the increasing prevalence of diabetes mellitus, which leads to chronic hyperglycaemia and poses a significant threat to public health and well-being worldwide. The present study investigated the anti-diabetic effect of black pepper, turmeric, and ajwa date pulp + seed and their mixtures as hypolipidemic, antioxidant and protective agents on the liver and kidney by examining histological changes in alloxanised diabetic rats. Eleven groups consisting of eighteen males and eighteen females were divided into a normal control (non-diabetic), a positive control (diabetic), positive groups receiving glibenclamide (10 mg kg -1 body weight), black pepper (BP), turmeric (T), ajwa pulp (AP), ajwa seeds (AS) aqueous extracts and their various combinations. The dose of BP aqueous extract was 50 mg kg -1 body weight, while the dose of the other materials was 500 mg kg -1 body weight. The aqueous extracts were administered orally once daily for eight weeks. Our phytochemical screening detected the presence of fla - vonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids, and alkaloids in these extracts. The results pertaining to serum levels of glucose, lipids, glycosylated haemoglobin, and anti-oxidant biomarkers revealed significant improvements after administration of AS, BP + AS, and the mixture of

. Maize straw is an agricultural by-product that has the potential to be used as an alternative feed for ruminants. In order to utilise this crop residue rationally, their nutritional value should be improved to promote their use as silage. This study aimed to evaluate in vitro fermentability and digestibility of maize by-product silage in ruminant feed rations based on Indigofera zollingeriana as a substitute for Napier grass (NG). A completely randomised design with 3 treatments and 8 replications was applied. The proportion of forage and concentrate in rations was 45:55% on a dry matter (DM) basis. The experimental treatments included a ration containing 35% NG (R0), a ration containing 17.5% NG and 17.5% maize straw silage (MSS) (R1)

. The nutrition of modern dairy cows is a crucial factor affecting milk yield, its parameters and production economics. Nutritional supplementation is often necessary to ensure that cows receive all the required proteins in their diet. The aim of the study was to analyse the impact of fluidised dried yeast ( Saccharomyces cerevisiae ) on daily milk yield, milk yield for all lactation stages, and udder condition. Milk samples were collected before the experiment, during a 4-week period of yeast supplementation, and 4 weeks after the experiment to analyse changes in milk composition and yield. The results demonstrated a significant positive effect ( P < 0.01) on daily milk yield at all stages of lactation, as well as improved udder condition, as evidenced by lower somatic cell counts in milk. Therefore, the results have confirmed that fluidised dried yeast can be a valuable component of the diet for high-yielding dairy cows. However, further analyses are necessary to determine the long-term influence of yeast supplementation on milk production and the overall health of cows.
