Traffic congestion is becoming one of the critical issues with increasing population and automobiles in cities. Traffic jams not only cause extra delay and stress for the drivers, but also increase fuel consumption and air pollution. Although it seems to pervade everywhere, megacities are the ones most affected by it. And its ever-increasing nature makes it necessary to calculate the road traffic density in real-time for better signal control and effective traffic management. The traffic controller is one of the critical factors affecting traffic flow. Therefore, the need for optimizing traffic control to better accommodate this increasing demand arises. Our proposed system aims to utilize live images from the cameras at traffic junctions for traffic density calculation using image processing and AI. It also focuses on the algorithm for switching the traffic lights based on the vehicle density to reduce congestion, thereby providing faster transit to people and reducing pollution.

Researchers have developed various different static models for Pneumatic artificial muscle actuators using virtual work technique by using the volume of air entering into the actuator. A comparative study of the measurement and estimation of the air consumption of a pneumatic artificial muscle actuator during its actuation is performed in this article. Such actuators being non-symmetrical, require an extensive hardware to accurately measure their volumes by water displacement technique. The relative performance of two alternative methods, blob analysis and flow rate measurement are analyzed and the anomalies have been reasoned out. A short study on the identification of the actuator inflation process has been performed to show how the estimation technique could be improved.

The two-way communication system with enhanced reachability, capacity and arrangement of large number of users by utilising a hybrid PON of WDM with TDMA is suggested. It is designed using generic architecture of a FTTx network using PON. The expanded reach permits central workplaces to turn out to be progressively adaptable and less in number, while the expanded accumulation decreases the size and number of optical links required, empowering littler channels to be utilized. The 150 km lengthy 5 Gbps TWDM PON is developed by utilising EDFA, WDM mux-demux splitter and APD photo detector and implemented using OptiSystem 7.0. Coarse WDM is applied on the non-return to zero (NRZ) transmission system. In The system is evaluated on Quality factor, BER and eye diagrams.

Cortical neurons play a predominant role in major functions like motor and sensory actions, cognition, perception, etc. The analysis, modeling of cortical neurons facilitates the implementation of faster and smarter neuromorphic architectures. This paper presents the implementation of an analog CMOS circuit that resembles the functionality of cortical neurons. This silicon neuron circuit comprises only 14 MOSFETS and is capable of providing various kinds of spiking patterns such as regular, fast-spiking, and bursting, just by varying bias voltages. This property enables the fabrication of many neurons onto a single chip and exhibits flexibility of emulating different neuronal behaviors with a little modification in bias voltages. This makes a circuit that can be used as a basic cell in the implementation of spiking neural networks, brain-inspired circuits, and cognitive robots, etc. The circuit is analyzed for its performance and the simulations are carried out using cadence virtuoso at 180nm technology node.

The synchronous buck converter with all three modes of operation and a closed loop controller for tracking the maximum efficiency point at all values of load current is presented in this research paper. Synchronous buck operations converter at CCM-DCM mode boundary and in DCM mode provides zero voltage switching condition for main switch. A digital closed loop controller continuously selects the optimal switching frequency for a particular value of load, which enhances the efficiency of synchronous buck converter. In this particular research paper, an algorithm for digital closed loop controller is explained and it is realized in a simulation environment. The operation of synchronous buck converter in all three modes is also demonstrated in a simulation and real time results are presented in this paper

The 2019 Corona-virus (COVID19), a highly communicable disease has spread across borders and geographies, severely affected the entire world and caused significant risks to the entire global economy. The disease has spread to 28 states and 8 union territories around the country and infected more than 3.68 million people. To slow down the spread of the virus, central and state governments across the nation have forced restrictions on most socio-economic activities. These include complete or partial lockdowns, janta Curfews, daytime curfews, closure of educational institutions and non-essential businesses, and the ban on public meetings. About 1.3 billion people of the Indian population, were subject to partial or complete lockdowns and almost all of the global population is littered with some form of prevention measures. COVID19 pandemic has caused an array of new challenges for the power sector, with utilities and operators of critical infrastructure working to keep the continuity of supply and demand all while confronting their workforce and operational limitations. This paper discusses the impact of the COVID19 crisis on the Indian power sector and also take a closer look at the potential impact of sectorial variables such as demand, delivery, resources, capital expenditure, and investment. The article also highlights the steps taken by government predominantly the power utilities to mitigate and manage the impact, especially to provide uninterrupted power supply in lockdown affected areas. The analysis presented is evolving as revealing the situation in India.

Electro-mobility emerges as a sustainable alternative for coping up with the challenges of global carbon emissions. Development of fast charging technology has greatly contributed to popularity of Electric Vehicles (EVs), but, still their usage remains insignificant relative to conventional vehicles, due to their long charging times. For increasing the involvement of EVs in the transportation systems, accessibility of Fast Charging Stations (FCS) needs to be increased. Unplanned installation of FCS may give rise to problems like degradation of voltage profile, line losses and high operational costs. This study is going to introduce an analytical method for placement of FCS. The adopted strategy finds appropriate places for siting charging stations while maintaining compatibility with electrical infrastructure. The analysis includes six different cases for differentiating strong and weak buses of the distribution system. The results reveal buses capable of supporting deployment of FCS and penalty for voltage deviation.

On the Internet, the routing of a data packet is the most important process. A routing protocol specifies the way to a router so that it can be connected to the internetworks with the help of a protocol called an Internet protocol. Internet applications make use of many routing protocols like RIPvl, RIPv2, OSPF, EIGRP, IGRP, etc. Each routing protocols have their own methods of routing a packet. This paper presents a basic comparative study of RIP, OSPF, and EIGRP protocols. The RIP makes use of a distance vector algorithm to choose the best path for a packet, OSPF makes use of a link state algorithm to decide the best path for a packet and EIGRP makes use of diffusing update algorithms to decide a path for a packet. In this paper, we are comparing and analyzing the performance of routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, and EIGRP to decide the best protocol for routing packets.

In this paper, an experimental performance evaluation of a variable speed DC compressor in vapor compression based refrigerator using R290 as refrigerant is carried out. It is powered by solar photovoltaic. R290 is a fourth-generation refrigerant. It has excellent thermodynamic properties, environmental characteristics, and low cost. While on the other hand, the DC compressor is mostly suitable for the solar photovoltaic system and it does not require the power inverter. Various performance parameters i.e. Cooling Capacity, Coefficient of Performance, and Energy Consumption are investigated for room temperature using the variable speed and maximum speed of the DC compressor. The comparative analysis of performance parameters for both the variable speed operation and maximum speed are presented and discussed.

In this paper, detection and monitoring system of blood flow is proposed and developed. This monitoring system is based on Internet of things in which blood flow is analyzed. The analysis of blood is done with the help of various optical sensors and smart phone. The sensors are used for sensing and the sensed data us send to the smart phone after amplification and filtering for analysis. However, the received signals are affected by the motion artifact and ambient light. All the processing work is done by the smart phone application, which makes the complete system light weight and portable and can be mounted easily. The system has been implemented and interfacing with the smart phone application has been proposed in this paper. The proposed system gives the analysis of blood flow, which reveals large amount of information related to health and wide range of applications such as sports and industry.
