Most of the whole-field optical methods for vibration measurement have low sensitivity when the points of the studied surface vibrate with the same amplitude. Those techniques also usually require complex and/or expensive solutions which are difficult to implement in engineering processes when the vibration amplitudes are relatively high. In order to overcome those limitations we propose a method for out-of-plane vibration measurement which uses structured light projection. The vibrating surface is obliquely illuminated by straight and parallel interference fringes produced by a Twyman-Green interferometer with a 532-nm laser as light source. In order to enable fringe visualization two techniques were employed, namely, the phase modulation of the fringe pattern by using a vibrating mirror in the interferometer, and a stroboscopic illumination by using a Fabry-Perot etalon amplitude modulator. We demonstrated the technique by measuring the vibration amplitudes of small objects in the millimeter and submillimeter range.

With the rise of the Internet, we now have a lot of information at our disposal. We 're swamped from many sources — news, social media, to name a few, office emails. This paper addresses the problem of reading through such extensive information by summarizing it using text summarizer based on Abstractive Summarization using deep learning models, i.e. using bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks and Pointer Generator mode. The LSTM model (which is a modification of the Recurrent Neural Network) is trained and tested on the Amazon Fine Food Review dataset using the Bahadau Attention Model Decoder with the use of Conceptnet Numberbatch embeddings that are very similar and better to GloVe. Pointer Generator mode is trained and tested by the CNN / Daily Mail dataset and the model uses both Decoder and Attention inputs. But due 2 major problems in LSTM model like the inability of the network to copy facts and repetition of words the second method is, i.e., Pointer Generator mode is used. This paper in turn aims to provide an analysis on both the models to provide a better understanding of the working of the models to enable to create a strong text summarizer. The main purpose is to provide reliable summaries of datasets or uploaded files, depending on the choice of the user. Unnecessary sentences will be rejected in order to obtain the most important sentences.

Recently, direct power control (DPC) based proportional-integral (PI) controllers have become dominant for doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) due to its simplicity and good dynamic response. But this strategy gives a high total harmonic distortion (THD) of the voltage and a large power ripple. In this paper, a new DPC method (called as NDPC-4L-NSVPWM) is proposed based on a four-level neural space vector pulse width modulation (4L-NSVPWM) and neural PI controllers for direct active and reactive powers command (DRAPC) of a DFIG integrated in a dual-rotor wind turbine (DRWT). This control scheme is based on direct reactive and active powers estimation. Theoretical principles of this strategy are presented along with simulation results. The advantages and robustness of NDPC-4L-NSVPWM control over other DPC with PI controllers (DPC-PI) are presented. The main advantages of NDPC-4L-NSVPWM strategy are relative to its good dynamic response, simplicity of the algorithm and operation at a constant switching frequency. Analysis of NDPC-4L-NSVPWM strategy based DFIG-DRWT has been done in MATLAB/Simulink software. Simulation results validate the performance of the NDPC-4L-NSVPWM strategy by evaluating the THD of current and the reduction of the ripples for the active/reactive power of DFIG-DRWTs.

Wireless-based networks encompass assisted human life in distinct domains like Agriculture, health, infrastructure, climate, transportation and defense. In particular, the wireless sensor networks have been addressed in this article. Though it has many advancements, providing secure data transmission needs a major focus on these platforms. The disruptions or interference is one of the vulnerable security problems in Wireless Sensor Networks. Inside the network, an intruder can encroach and interrupt the whole transmission process. The involvement of an intruder in the device must be remembered in the network. WSN encompasses a wide geographical region and focus on rectification of issues in protocols for routing, interoperability, connectivity, and defense plays a major role. Hence, this article addresses about routing protocols of WSN, applications, recent network security issues and their variants of defense mechanisms. The conclusion depicts the classification of network security issues, requirements, and descriptive defense mechanisms for secure data transmission.

This paper presents a novel hybrid approach for studying electric power systems as a combination of the electrical power generation process and the actual state of the transmission lines. The approach is composed of a discrete-event simulation model and a mathematical programming model. The simulation model is designed as a routing problem defined over a set of transmission lines considered (individually) as active, inactive, under maintenance, and outage. On the other hand, the mixed-integer lineal programming model determines the best way to generate and transmit power flows (considering, simultaneously, all possible solutions). This type of model allows solving the economic dispatch problem in lower computational times. It also ensures reaching the global optimum. When adding the discrete-event simulation model for studying the state of transmission lines, the final hybrid approach allows obtaining feasible solutions when the system parameters change. Here, both models (i.e., simulation and optimization models) are combined to improve the capabilities of the model structure to represent real-life scenarios. Our proposal is used to analyze a case study composed of an electric system with six buses, eleven lines, and three generators.

The position control in electromechanical systems can many times be performed by direct current (DC) motors. Due to this, the control of these devices is studied via several control strategies in the literature. In this work, the modeling of a direct current motor with coupled load is presented, including the experiments performed to obtain the main system’s parameters and the dynamic’s discretization process. The discretization is taking into account in order to allow the controller to be performed by a computer. From the obtained model, the state feedback control approach along with an observer was explored to create a digital controller for the considered DC motor. The obtained results, both from the simulation and the experimental setup, show that the obtained model is valid. Moreover, it is possible to conclude that the proposed control strategy conducts to appropriate results both in simulations and in experimental tests.

This work proposes a simulation approach to characterize the behavior of DP600 steel subjected to micro indentation tests. Axisymmetric and three-dimensional artificial RVEs were generated with statistical data from metallographic images. FEM simulations of the micro indentation tests used the Gurson model and Rodriguez-Gutierrez equation. There is proposed a new parameter called spherical radius to quantify the closeness of the hard particles to the indenter tip. The simulated 3D curves were compared with respect to a reference curve of DP600, obtaining relative errors below 20 percent. Results show that the hard particles near the indenter affect the stress, strain, and micro void fields by changing the indentation response behavior. The spherical radius allows capturing the effect of the hard particles closeness because when its value is low, or the hard particles are closer to the indenter tip, the relative error of the average curve decreases due to the hard particles are constraining the deformation caused by the indenter in the material.

This paper discusses the numerical simulation of the thermal behavior of steady-state water flows within parallel tubes in a plane solar collector. The CFD modeling technique, which is based on the finite volume method, has been implemented with the SIMPLE algorithm. The governing equations of the flow are those of Navier-Stokes, coupled with the energy conservation equation, and solved by using the computer software FLUENT. The profiles of water temperature are analyzed for different mass flow rates. A considerable increase in the heat transfer between the absorber wall and the tubes was observed at the low velocity of water flows. The lower mass flow rate allowed a longer residence time of fluid, and the slower mass flow yielded an increased outlet temperature.

Nowadays laser scanners play an important role in technology and research, when it comes to measure 3D coordinates physically and in real time of any object under observation. Laser scanners have to measure the 3D coordinates of these objects in shortest time and with the smallest measuring error. A novel laser scanner called Technical Vision System (TVS), which uses Dynamic Triangulation and DC motors, was developed and proven to represent a fast and reliable scanning system. Previous research used the step response of the TVS mechanical actuators (DC motors), which can overshoot if certain controller parameters of the closed-loop control are selected. If the overshoot is undesirable, a trade-off must be made between speed and overshoot of the step response. Thereby, present paper describes a new approach to control the actual angular position of the TVS DC motors using a trapezoidal profile for the DC Motor velocity. The DC motors step response is replaced by a trajectory response, which allows the reduction of the relative angular error of the DC motors shaft to a value less than or equal to 0.1 percent. Also, the design of the control system, to implement the trapezoidal trajectory profile for the DC motor velocity in practice, is described in detail.

The clustering is a widely used technique for grouping of objects. The objects, which are similar to each other should be in the same cluster. One disadvantage of general clustering algorithms is that the user must specify the number of clusters in advance, as input parameter. This is a major drawback since it is possible that the user cannot specify the number of clusters correctly, and the algorithm thus creates a clustering that puts very different elements into the same cluster. The aim of this paper is to present our representation and evaluation technique to determine the optimal cluster count automatically. With this technique, the algorithms itself determine the number of clusters. In this paper first, the classical clustering algorithms are introduced, then the construction and improvement algorithms and then our representation and evaluation method are presented. Then the performance of the algorithms with test results are compared.

The objects, which are similar to each other should be in the same cluster. One disadvantage of general clustering algorithms is that the user must specify the number of clusters in advance, as input parameter. This is a major drawback since it is possible that the user cannot specify the number of clusters correctly, and the algorithm thus creates a clustering that puts very different elements into the same cluster. The aim of this paper is to present our representation and evaluation technique to determine the optimal cluster count automatically. With this technique, the algorithms itself determine the number of clusters. In this paper first, the classical clustering algorithms are introduced, then the construction and improvement algorithms and then our representation and evaluation method are presented. Then the performance of the algorithms with test results are compared.","PeriodicalId":15073,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Applied Research and Technology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43709891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
