Emergency Modes Modeling in Non-Traction Consumers Power Supply Systems
Yuri Bulatov, A. Kryukov, E. Alekseenko
The use of distributed generation (DG) plants, which includes renewable energy resources, allows to stabilize voltage levels, reduce losses in networks and to free couplings transfer capacities. Power quality can be enhanced based on DG in railroads power supply systems (RPSS), as well power supply efficiency and uninterruptedness of power consumers supply. However, when DG is used, a problem arises associated with the short circuit currents growth caused by additional power sources. To resolve this problem, development of methods emergency modes modeling in RPSS is required, when RPSS are equipped with DG plants. The article contains results of emergency modes study in power supply systems, with emergency modes caused by short circuits. A non-traction consumers' individual power supply region was modeled, which was connected to a traction substation through a DC link and which included the following DG plants: turbogenerator of minicogeneration plants; hydrogenerator of micro-hydropower plant; a wind power generation plant (WPGP) based on synchronous machine; WPGP based on DC machine and a solar power plant. The modeling results allow us to make the following conclusions: when DG plants are used, short circuits currents are growing which requires additional check of the switching equipment and changing relay protection setpoints to ensure selectivity; using DC link allows to significantly reduce short circuit currents, even when feed is available from DG plants; in case of two-phase short circuit a significant distortion of currents curves' harmonicity is observed, when currents are leaking from DG sources. Keywords—railroads power supply systems, distributed generation plants, emergency modes

The article reviews the possibility to improve efficiency of the cylinders block design and the pumping unit of an axial-piston hydraulic machine by means of utilization of inter-cylinder zones for installing additional chambers smaller in diameter. This design allows to building a new axial piston rotor double row hydraulic machine with two pumping units, which have not been used in hydraulic drives. It is required to increase in the outer diameter of the original cylinders block by only 10% that will provide an increase the working volume and power of the new hydraulic machine by 33%. The updated efficiency improvements do not only increase the working volume and power, but also increase the hydraulic motor acceleration without increasing the feed pulsation, angular velocity and torque on the shaft of the hydraulic machine under investigation.

Calculation Methods of Investments Economic Efficiency in New Equipment

—The article presents the technical and economic analysis of the investments in new equipment in general or design/ design-technological innovations that depends on an investment budget formation, which determines the net cash flow from the project implementation for the entire exploitation period. We identified quantitative indicators of economic efficiency of investments according to the well-known UNIDO methodology. The payback of the project can be determined in two ways: by net cash flow without taking into account the time factor (P - payback) and by discounted cash flow (CP - payback). Payback calculation is in the current case: the cash flow is summed up until the amount exceeds the amount of investment.

A. Levashev, A. Mikhailov, A. Butuzova, M. Sharov
The article discusses the principles of the formation of the estimated transportation districts, taking into account special generators of movements that are understood as large objects of mass service of the population, in relation of which, the generation of visits is comparable to the generation of certain districts of the city. The conditions for the allocation of such generators in the special estimated transportation districts are considered. The methodology to form the initial data in relation to the estimated transportation districts using modern GIS technologies is described. The classification of the estimated transportation districts is presented. Keywords—transport and urban planning, special trip generators, transportation zoning, transportation simulation.

The article represents the results of investigating the structure of the layers, obtained using the specimens of lowcarbon steel, subjected to plasma cementation. The dependence of their structure on the percentage of graphite in the coating, which served as a carbon source, is established. The influence of the subsequent heat treatment of specimens after plasma cementation in the macroand micro-smelting regime to form the graphite inclusions in the structure has been studied. Heat treatment consisted in conducting of annealing under different conditions. Keywords—formation process; plasma; cementation; steel; heat treatment
