This study aims to determine the types of speech acts and forms of expressive speech of children. The background for this research is moral education or doutoku kyouiku (道徳教育) which has been taught from an early age to children, making them unable to express expressions straightforwardly. The theory used in this study is the theory of Searle (1969) and Wijana (1996) as a reference regarding the types and forms of expressive speech acts. The results obtained from the analysis are the types of direct literal speech acts that are mostly used by children. Based on the analysis of 24 data, it is known that there are expressions of gratitude (1), worry (2), anger (3), apologize (3), praise (3), criticize (5), blaming (1), feeling guilty (1), sad (2), happy (2), fear (1). As well as indicators of nonverbal language contained in this study as many as 10 data.

Regardless of its importance in tourism, the use of appraisal theory in tourism research, particularly in the context of virtual tours, is relatively unexplored. This study aims to analyze the attitude of tour guides when describing tourist attractions and to find out the response of tourists. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, documentation and questionnaires. Based on the appraisal analysis of the tour guides, there are two types of positive attitudes; affect (1%) and appreciation (99%). Tourists’ responses in the form of their satisfaction were measured by questionnaires based on the theory of tourist attraction and consumer satisfaction theory with the Likert model assessment technique. Tourists were given a questionnaire to find out whether they were satisfied with the virtual tour. They responded by strongly agree (28%), agree (49%) and neutral answer (22%). Those who responded disagree were only 1%. The tourist responses indicate that most tourists are satisfied with the virtual tour.

This analytical descriptive research aims to describe a linguistic phenomenon that is popular among social media users, namely the use of the suffix –ly in Indonesian vocabulary. The approaches used were morphological, syntactic, and semantic. The data collection method chosen was the note-taking method with data analyis technique used distributional method. The data collected were 12 sentence data containing the words anggunly, jujurly, barbarly. Based on the results of the analysis, morphologically, the affix –ly in the words anggunly, jujurly, barbarly is a suffix that must be tied to the base morpheme that is classified as an adjective. Syntactically, the affix –ly changes the base morpheme that is classified as an adjective into an adverb. Semantically, the affix –ly has the same meaning as the modifier of the adverb in Indonesian, namely ‘secara’ and ‘dengan’. The emergence of the affix –ly as the modifier of adverb is the result of language contact with English and is increasingly being popularized by an influencer, Vindy Lee, so that it becomes slang language.

This research aims to extract the mono-lexical and poly-lexical terms from linguistics domain in Indonesian language. As the terminology and lexicology concept is somehow blurry, this research applies CTT by Cabré to do the terms extraction procedure. The corpus-based terminology method is applied in this research to get the best mono-lexical and poly-lexical terms possible. To compile the general and the specialized corpus in this research, AntConc is applied as an instrument. Even though the result is noisy, further analysis about the term limitation manually makes this research semi-automatic. The result shows that the limitation in language and words structure helps this research to delimit the mono-lexical terms extracted in this research. Furthermore, the mono-lexical terms extracted act as the starting point for poly-lexical terms.

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to several abbreviations' emergence. Some abbreviations come from English and also from Indonesian. This phenomenon has a social and psychological impact on society. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the abbreviations used during the Covid-19 pandemic based on morphological studies. This study describes the used abbreviations, the forming process, and the impact on the Indonesian people's life. The data collected in this study used the listening method with tapping techniques, followed by the observation without interview and the note-taking approach. Then, it conducted the data analysis with a data flow model analysis and a referential equivalent method. Moreover, these methods used determination elements as a primary approach and differential comparative as a secondary approach. Later, this study performed the data presenting with the informal methods by giving data analysis in sentences. The results showed several abbreviations: IMR, PPE, BLT, CCT, 3K, 3M, 3T, J3K, 3T+3M–3K, banpres, Covid-19, daring, isoman, and so on. This forming process occurred through abbreviations, acronyms, and a combination of abbreviations and acronyms. Hence, the formation of abbreviations related to Covid-19 impacts people's lives, both socially and psychologically.

Literature study shows that International students experience culture shock both to foreign cultures and to their own local cultures (reverse culture shock). Unfortunately, the study on resistance to reverse culture shock is rather neglected. This paper examines the students’ reverse culture shock in relation to cultural intelligence, the case of international students internship in Japan. The aim is to find out cultural intelligence, resistance to reverse culture shock, and the influence of cultural intelligence on resistance to reverse culture shock. The study uses quantitative methods with SEM-PLS statistical tests, and theoretical approaches to culture shock, reverse culture shock, and cultural intelligence. The results of the study are that international students participating in internships in Japan do not experience culture shock to Indonesian culture as a local culture. Generally, they have a good resistance to the reverse culture shock of their local culture. They do not feel a shock to Indonesian cultures as their local culture after coming back from Japan. They can resist to the reverse culture shock because they have a good cultural intelligence. Cultural intelligence has a positive influence on the shock to local Indonesian culture. However, not all of them do not have cultural resistance with a 100% intelligence level. A small number experienced local culture shock (reverse culture shock), meaning that a small number of International students experience a slight shock to Indonesian culture.
