Tsunami Early Warning System (TEWS) is built for minimizing impact of tsunami disaster. The generic system consists of two components: the first is sensor network for tsunami detection and the second is interconnected communication infrastructure for evacuation notification. In this paper, additional sensor based on computer vision technology is proposed for observing ocean and wave condition. This technology, combined with other sensors technology, will increase the effectiveness of the TEWS. In more detail, image frames captured from surveillance video camera are analyzed and interpreted semantically using imaging analysis techniques. If the system considered a tsunami-like situation based on image, it will transmit a warning signal to a centrally integrated system. The developed application adopted DeWa, a multiaspect framework for object detection that has been previously implemented. Although this camera-based TEWS has not been implemented in realistic situation, it has been successfully tested using extracted image from a tsunami-like wave video.

In power system, spinning reserve is one of the important indicators of power system security. Regarding spinning reserve as an important factor, spinning reserve cost has been appropriated highly. This paper proposes a method for decreasing spinning reserve cost using demand respond (DR) program. The effect of DR is focused on the aspect of decrease effect of spinning reserve cost. In order to present the effect of DR, demand-price elasticity matrix is used in this paper. DR program is modeled N-period time-of-use (TOU) program, which is one of the most important economic methods in Demand-side Management (DSM). The changed load is considered two sides of DR effects, which are load curtailment and load shift. Using the changed load after DR, spinning reserve cost is recalculated. Case study is conducted on the RBTS IEEE with six buses. For the TOU program, it is assumed that parameters of time period partition consist of three time periods. Spinning reserve cost is calculated from local marginal price (LMP) and capacity price (CP) of 24 hours a day.

In this paper, a delayed worm propagation model with birth and death rates is discussed. The number of system reinstallations may be increased when the hosts get unstable (infected or quarantined). In view of such situation, dynamic birth and death rates are introduced. Afterwards, the stability of the positive equilibrium is studied. Through the theoretical analysis, it is proved that the model is locally asymptotically stable without time delay. Moreover, a bifurcation appears when time delay t passes a constant value which means that the worm propagation system is unstable and uncontrollable. Thus, the time delay should be decreased in order to predict or eliminate the worm propagation. Finally, a numeric simulation is presented which fully supports our analysis.

We discussed carefully about the conceptions on tree domain with class and type features under the background of XML. In the paper, not only the names but also types of each node in tree domain are taken into account. When considering the names, due to different classes of names, we introduced tree skeleton. And when considering the types, we introduced branch types. On the basis of these, we further discussed the relationship among the branch names and types. The conceptions studied in the paper are useful in the research on XML documents storage, transformation and parsing.

Trying to minimize the time consumption and cost of the whole product, a system design method and development flow chart based on Matlab/RTW is introduced, An embedded code generation method is proposed in a cascaded two H-bridge inverter system. After building and validating the algorithm models in Matlab/Simulink, a SPWM control system model whose target board is TMS320F2812 DSP is presented. Automatic code-generation is accomplished from this model, then compiled and downloaded into the TMS320F2812 DSP board. The results of the experiment are agree with theory analysis, which shows the benefit of system design and code generate using Matlab/RTW tools.

As to the problem of great complexity of traditional adaptive window matching algorithm, a simple adaptive window matching algorithm is proposed in this paper, which use various square or rectangular windows of different size based on the different gradient of points to be matched. Moreover, for better matching effect, a regional seed propagation method is proposed based on the disparity smoothness constraints and the assumption that adjacent pixels of similar color should have the same disparity. Experiments show that compared with traditional adaptive window matching algorithms, the computation complexity has been decreased significantly and the matching accuracy rate has been improved effectively.

In this paper we propose a method of formal interpretation of HAIKU, based on the concept of functional grammar. HAIKU is a typical Japanese simple sentence that can represent a fruitful message in a very short concise form of 5-7-5 letters. HAIKU-like simple writing style is now spreading all over the world. The most remarkable feature of Haiku is a fragmental alignment of keywords, which often transcends the ordinary sentence composing grammar. Thus HAIKU can be a good baseline for international communication interface. Foreign people can communicate each other without annoying about the language-dependent grammar. Just by arranging the keywords, people can transfer his (or her) message to other foreign people. In order to understand the meaning of HAIKU-like simple sentence, we propose a formal interpretation method based on a functional grammar. The essential components of functional grammar are kernel sentence and meta-sentence. Meta-sentence can be viewed as a sentence structuring operator, while kernel sentence is viewed as a simple structured, mono-predicate sentence. We will show typical examples of meta-sentences obtained from HAIKU. We also show the examples of Haiku-sentences in Chinese and English.

How can the enterprise group be formed? Can it be explained by global mechanisms or models? The relationship among enterprises is described as relationship degree. Thus, correlation network is built upon enterprise group. The types of relationship among group or between groups are entitled as group inner energy and group outer energy. A 0/1 integer programming model is established for enterprise group to optimize the structure of the group by maximizing group inner energy and minimizing group outer energy. From the view of enterprise, enterprise inner energy and enterprise outer energy are proposed as group. These measures are taken for enterprise to choose group or group to choose enterprise. By simulation, the above models and measures are studied. The organization model of enterprise group built in the study is fundamental for the assessment and evolution of enterprise group.

Agent negotiation over multiple divisible resources under incomplete information is a challenging task. Previous researches are mostly based on linear utility functions. However, lots of various instances show that the relationship between utilities and resources is usually saturated nonlinear, just as indicated by Wooldridge. To this end, we expand linear utility functions to nonlinear cases according to the law of diminishing marginal utility. Furthermore, we propose a negotiation model over multiple divisible resources with two phases. In the first phase, we take resources as indivisible units to reach a preliminary agreement which is the base of phase two at the same time. Sequentially, we divide resources using a greedy algorithm in the second phase to realize Pareto optimal results. The computational complexity of the proposed algorithm is proved to be polynomial order. Experimental results show that the optimal efficiency of the algorithm is distinctly higher than previous work.

This paper describes the development of a multifunctional data acquisition system for photovoltaic (PV) plants. The proposed system consists of a set of data collection boxes for measuring electrical parameters (e.g. DC current, DC voltage, AC current, AC voltage, AC power, etc.), a meteorological data collection system for measuring meteorological parameters (e.g. irradiance, ambient air temperature, etc.), a power quality analyzer for measuring power quality and a central data processing system. The multifunctional data acquisition system can be used to measure PV plants with different capacity and configuration. A set of data collection boxes can be selected and combined freely for data acquisition according to capacity and configuration of measured PV plant. The software of the multifunctional data acquisition system based on LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench) package is used to process, display and store the collected data in the PC disk. The multifunctional data acquisition system was installed in a rooftop building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) plant for an on-site measurement in Gejiang province in China. The obtained results confirm that it has the ability to measure the PV plants with different capacity and configuration and has functions of data collection, data processing and analysis. It meets the requirement of the performance evaluation for PV plants.
