Intelligent control for high performance drives 智能控制高性能驱动器

A new generation of control based on intuition and judgments has emerged. Researchers have given a collective name for this type of control"intelligent control." The main advantages of this control are its simplicity, adaptability and performance. Complex nonlinear mapping of system's dynamics through terminal characteristics can be obtained without the need for structured models. These controllers can implement design objectives that are difficult to express mathematically in linguistic or descriptive rules. The superior noise rejection capability and the tolerance to the system fluctuations are some of the key advantages over the classical control. They tend to be fast simple and straightforward designs. This paper summarizes two of the most common intelligent controls: fuzzy control and neural network control, with the emphasis on their application to high performance electric drives.

Finite element modeling of Terfenol-D magneto-mechanical coupling: application to a direct micro-stepping rotary motor Terfenol-D磁力耦合的有限元建模:在直接微步进旋转电机上的应用

Highly magnetostrictive materials such as Tb/sub 0.3/Dy/sub 0.7/Fe/sub 2/, commercially known as Terfenol-D, have been used to date in a variety of devices such as high power actuators and linear motors. The authors investigate a finite element model on a direct micro-stepping rotary motor. Such a motor would be a high torque micro-radian stepper, capable of precision movements and self-braking in the power off state. The thrust of this paper is to test the validity of the so-called "weak coupling" approach on a motor based on the proven inch worm technique. Comparison between numerical outputs from the model and test results on prototype hardware are presented.

Performance analysis of a low cost vector controlled induction motor drive: a philosophy for sensor reduction 低成本矢量控制感应电机驱动器的性能分析:减少传感器的理念

This paper deals with the reduction of overall cost of a current controlled voltage source inverter fed vector controlled induction motor drive (VCIMD). For this purpose an attempt has been made here to examine the possibility of such elimination/reduction in the number of sensors. The performance analysis of the VCIMD system (22 kW cage induction motor) is carried out and with the help of simulated results the effectiveness of the proposed elimination/reduction of sensors is assessed.

In these two-part companion papers the well-established energy/current (E/C) perturbation method of computation of machine winding inductances is reviewed. The method's efficacy in machine performance calculations is delineated and verified by comparison to experimental results. The critical role that winding inductance parameters have in modeling and simulation of the nonsinusoidal steady state time-domain (forced response) performance of electric machinery is demonstrated using state models in both the winding flux linkage and current-based frames of reference. The computed machine performance characteristics include profiles of winding inductances, induced terminal voltage waveforms, and instantaneous torque profiles that contain all the ripples due to the significant space harmonics in a machine. The method and associated formulations and techniques are shown to be very effective in both 2D-FE and 3D-FE electric machinery field solutions involving substantial degrees of saturation and complexity of construction. The machines analyzed include a 15-HP permanent magnet brushless DC motor, a 1.2-HP three-phase induction motor, and a 14.3 kVA three-phase modified Lundell alternator possessing very complex magnetic circuit geometries. The well-posedness of the method held true for all these cases, as well as many other case-studies briefly reviewed here.

Position sensorless control of synchronous reluctance motor using high frequency current injection 高频电流注入同步磁阻电机无位置传感器控制

This paper presents a position sensorless control scheme for synchronous reluctance motors using high frequency current injection. The rotor has inherent rotor saliency and its angle is estimated from d and q stator current injection and the appropriate signal demodulation. This scheme gives robust and dynamic estimation of the rotor angle independent of the operating condition including standstill and light and heavy loading. Experimental results of closed loop speed control of a 3.75 kW axially laminated synchronous reluctance motor are given to verify the proposed scheme.

In double-cage induction motors the determination of rotor parameters is laborious and lacks in precision when performed by analytical methods. The main problem is the correct evaluation of the mutual inductance between inner and outer cages and the skin-effect in rotor bars. In this work a finite element analysis is applied in order to obtain more accurate parameters.

These low-cost single-phase motors are high efficiency 3-phase motors with the SEMIHEX/sup TM/ connection of the windings to two run capacitors. The single-phase winding currents at full load are the same as if the motors were connected to a 3-phase source. The single-phase full-load efficiencies are the same as the 3-phase efficiencies. The line starting current is unity power factor and is approximately two times the full-load current for motors between 10-HP and 100-HP.

Application of rare earth magnets in a micromotor 稀土磁体在微电机中的应用

Electronically commutated motors (ECM) application has been a result of the recent advances in electronics and magnetic materials like rare-earth magnets. This paper presents a simple and typical axial flux permanent magnet motor (AFPMM) topology which is basically formed by sintered neodymium-iron-boron magnets and etched airgap windings. Experimental results of the small size prototype are presented.

With reference to a speed-controlled induction motor, an algorithm which allows the online estimation either of the speed and one other motor parameter or, alternatively, of two motor parameters, is described in the paper. Simulation results fully confirm the validity of the proposed algorithm.

On the wound-rotor induction machine control 对绕线转子感应电机的控制

The main goal of this paper is to present a new torque and speed control method of the wound rotor induction machine (WRIM) through the control of the voltage applied to the rotor winding. The method is based on the rotor voltage and current orientation using a converter cascade and a PI controller. It is shown by simulation using Pspice that the best way to comply with the control specifications is to maintain rotor voltage lagging rotor current providing also the best performance of the drive.
