This study was conducted to determine the performance index and business analysis of broilers infected with Escherichia coli by administering lactic acid bacteria probiotics in the form of Lactoped® (Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus fermentatum, Lactobacillus acidophilus). This type of research was true experimental research using a post-test-only control group design. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD). 30 broilers were randomized into three treatments (P0, P1 and P2) in each group with a minimum of six times. Probiotic lactic acid bacteria (LAB) with a concentration of 108 CFU/ml in broilers infected with Escherichia coli showed a higher performance index. It could cover the entire fixed costs so still feasible to do, meanwhile, for the scale of research (10 heads/treatment), it was not yet feasible to implement due to it has suffered losses.

A rehabilitation center for Javan Lutung animals in East Java carries out routine checks on rehabilitated animals to prevent diseases that can affect health. Diseases that can infect these endangered animals are not only diseases that are inside the body but also outside the body such as lice infestation. The purpose of this study was to identify the species of louse that attack Javan langurs in an effort to increase information on ectoparasite species in these endemic animals. The sample was obtained from an adult Javan langur, then the sample was preserved by the unstained Slide mounting method. The results were observed using a microscope and body length was measured using the ImageJ software. The results showed that the ectoparasite shape has a flat-dorsoventral body with a total body length of 1.65 mm. From morphometry and morphological characteristics, the samples identified were the male species of Pedicinus ancoratus.

Reptiles as exotic pets become more commonly desired by society, one of which is the reticulated python. Pythons kept as pets also have a risk of disease infection including helminthiasis. Worm parasite infects snake by the oral route. Some snake feed including frogs and mice can act as an intermediate host for worm parasites. A male reticulated python was kept by a member of the Banyuwangi reptile community and was presented with healthy and normal eating habits. This case study was to determine the worm parasite in the wild-caught reticulated python kept as an exotic pet. Fresh fecal samples were stored in a container with 70% alcohol added as a preservative. The sample was then evaluated in the laboratory and examined using the native method, floatation method, and simple sedimentation method. As result, under the microscope to be the Capillaria spp. the egg was observed.

The purpose of this study was to determine the ratio of estrogen concentrations given cassava peel feed supplementation. A total of 24 cows of Friesian Holstein, weighing 250-300 kg were divided into two groups and each group contains 12 replications. The first group is Friesian Holstein breeds with the condition that they are given elephant grass feed ad libitum and 25 kg of tofu dregs. The second group is Friesian Holstein breeds with the condition that they are fed ad libitum elephant grass, 25 kg of tofu dregs, and 25 kg of cassava peel. The milk samples were then taken to be tested for estrogen levels using the direct competitive ELISA. Analysis of estrogen concentration data was then carried out by normality test using Shapiro Wilk test then followed by the Paired T-test with a significance level of 5%. Based on the Paired T sample correlation test was 0.072 (p>0.05), which means that the feed gave the cassava peel and not the cassava peel was negatively associated. Based on the Paired T-test is 0.193 (p>0.05), which means there is no significant relationship between the 2 test groups. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in the estrogen concentration of Friesian Holstein cattle fed with and without cassava peel supplementation.

Lairage time before slaughtering a pig can recover the stress caused by transportation from the farm to the abattoir. Stress conditions can overcome the imbalance between Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and the ability of the system to be easily detoxified. Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a specific product of lipid peroxidation, it is often used as a biomarker in research. A total of 18 pigs were divided into two groups, pigs with a lairage time of 6-8 hours and a rest period of 12-24 hours, MDA levels were tested using the Thiobarbituric Acid Reactive Substance (TBARS) method and then analyzed. There was a significant difference (p<0.05) between the group lairage time length of 6-8 hours (18.10 ± 11.616) with a rest period of 12-24 hours (6,80 ± 4,852), there was a decrease in stress levels and was marked by a decreased in levels of MDA in pigs that were rested for 12-24 hours before being slaughtered.

The Pyometra case is a case that is often found in Female Cat. This case report will discuss the handling of a case of pyometra in a 7-year-old mixed breed cat who is being treated at Harmoni Pet Care, Menanggal, Gayungan, Surabaya, Indonesia. Reports from the owner that these cats are still in good appetite but sanguino-purulent discharge from the vagina was found. In clinically diagnosed with a pyometra, the treatment used to treat pyometra case was ovariohysterectomy. Postoperative care was carried out by administering antibiotics (Clanexi; Amoxicillin-Clavulanic Acid, 1 cc/kg, IM) given twice a day for 14 days, with the first 3 days being treated in the Harmoni Pet Care inpatient room and the 4th day to the 14th day of care is done at the owner's house, local antiseptic dressing at the incision site is continued for up to 14 days until the sutures in the skin sutures were absorbed by the cat's body.

This study aimed to discover the homology of nucleotide sequence, homology percentage, and those relations phylogenetic of protein Fusion (F) gene coding of Newcastle disease in domestic chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) in Surabaya using some comparison isolate from GenBank. Samples were scoured of digestive organs from native chicken, that was collected from a traditional market in Wonokromo, Surabaya. Samples were tested using RT-PCR with primer forward and reverse with target 976bp, a positive sample which is continued with sequencing then homology and nucleotide analysis which is done and which is translated into amino acid. The result of homology chc/SBY/2018 sample has a similarity of 88% with references sequence, while with Lasota vaccine has a similarity of 87%, and the highest result of homology showed by the comparison with various isolates in Indonesia 90-95%. Translation results from nucleotide alignment into amino acid showed shifts in amino acid structure, which is amino acid shifts could be affected by many things like nutrition, wheater, environment, etc. The conclusion was chc/SBY/2018 sample has a quite high similarity with Indonesian isolates and undergoes mutation on nucleotide structure on amino acid and phylogenetic analysis. This study related to some isolates of vaccine and some isolates in Indonesia.
