This study investigates the effects of foreign direct investment (FDI), economic growth, and capital stocks on the CO2 emissions in 16 Southern African Development Community (SADC). The analysis includes panel data from 1990 to 2014. To examine the effect, both statics and dynamics estimation models were used in this research. The results from panel statics using pooled ordinary least square and dynamic panel estimation using system general methods of the moments suggest a positive and significant effect of FDI and economic growth on CO2 emissions in SADC. While in contrast, capital stocks have negative and significant effects on CO2. These results indicate that FDI inflow has been damaging the environment in SADC countries. While when investing in clean energy the CO2 emissions tend to reduce. Hence, these countries should adopt policies that encourage the use of environmentally friendly technology and keep pursuing sustainable development goals while protecting the environment. and on this the on stocks, and CO2 emissions. ____________________________________________________________________ Abstract The Niger Delta Region remains the greatest wetland and resource region in Africa; it is rich in renewable, non-renewable, natural, terrestrial, and aquatic lives and human resources located within the Gulf of Guinea in the strangulation, and degradation that play out in the region. Efforts to douse the ensuing tensions and brewing crises from the region resulted in the amnesty programme. This paper evaluates the region; its resources, amnesty programme, and laws aimed at setting the region on the path of sustainable development. The objective is to find a relationship between the existing resources and the acclaimed development of the region to see how the extant laws have promoted and sustained empowerment in the region. A serious disconnect between the people, their resources, and sustainable development is discovered. The conclusion is that the existing legal frameworks have not yielded the much-required impact and recommend the enactment of some laws that will promote sustainable peace and enduring development.

Since the start of his journey in 1275, Marco Polo has been one of the most significant figures to promote cultural exchange between the East and the West throughout history. Instead of discussing the authenticity of Marco Polo’s experiences in China, this essay focuses on finding the reasons that contributed to Marco Polo’s unsuccessful attempts to spread Christianity in China during the Yuan Dynasty by concentrating on “The Travels of Marco Polo” that he wrote. Combining details from this primary source text along with contemporary documents, artwork, and Chinese culture during the Yuan Dynasty, there were many factors that prevented Christianity from spreading. In particular, this essay explores three key factors: the prevalence of Buddhism, the customs of the Chinese people, and the failure in converting emperor Khan to Christianity during the Yuan Dynasty. In conclusion, the convergence of these factors serves as the explanation for the unsuccessful popularization of Christianity during the Yuan Dynasty.

Financial transparency has been identified as a key feature of efficient public financial management in Local Government Authorities (LGAs) in Tanzania. However, the factors which undermine fiscal transparency in LGAs remain an empirical challenge, and extant literature in developing countries is still sparse. The purpose of this study was to explore why, after a decade of fiscal transparency reform programs, many developing countries in particular Tanzania is still lagging behind in financial transparency in LGAs particularly UBMC. To that end, this study adds knowledge on the factors which undermine fiscal transparency in LGAs and the ways forward in Tanzania. This study used a case study research design, purposive sampling was used to select 86 respondents and the methods of data collection were interview, and documentary review while data were analyzed through content analysis. The findings indicate that the level of education and the embezzlement of public funds and, weak oversight of the citizens negatively affect fiscal transparency in LGAs. It is therefore concluded that UBMC financial transparency process should be part and parcel of UBMC trust their government after being furnished with the financial information related to financial utilization and collection in LGAs in Tanzania. This study recommends that UBMC should make sure that relevant financial information about the finances and other local government activities should be made public timely on request including to the public, media, civil society organization, and citizens. why is it so?. This study investigated why there is dismal financial transparency in LGAs and what should be done to improve financial transparency practices in LGAs.

This research is mainly about remittances and the impact of remittances on building entrepreneurship. Remittances (money sent by migrants to their households in their place of origin) can play a significant role not only on household finances but also on the stimulus to local entrepreneurship in the places of origin. Still, the success of these entrepreneurial initiatives depends on the circumstances of different households and key socioeconomic conditions of the places in question. In this article, we aim to investigate which conditions of the households and the places of origin are likely to motivate the investment of remittances in entrepreneur activities. Our main methodology is the literature review, and here we examine various case studies addressing remittances investments in entrepreneurship, aiming to identify common key elements enabling and stimulating entrepreneurship in the cases examined. With this analysis, we aim to learn from the lessons of these case studies and then indicate ways to stimulate a sustainable investment of remittances in entrepreneurship in other contexts. Our main finding is several factors can contribute to setting up the entrepreneurship, namely, business environment; local policies; economic PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 2 development in the host country; the mindset of remittance receivers and senders; the household’s income; the household’s culture, and kinship relations.

Recommendations are thus made for a concise binding and enforceable law or a review of existing soft laws which directly lack the force of law to be fully adopted through the necessary reception laws into Nigeria. This is believed will enhance protection of the displaced persons within the Nigerian space, especially during emergencies such as Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The journalistic style is a sociocultural phenomenon becoming more common in our reality because of the continuous exposition of media in citizens’ experience. This exposition formulates our conception, reinterpretation and construction of the world, as well as it allows us to get to know a great diversity of perspectives among one single concept. Throughout the following journalistic article, the journalistic style has been reconstructed to make students understand and learn new methods of communication regarding the linguistic and communicative norms that media possesses. Moreover, students will be able to learn the different essential features that compose the process of newspaper creation: journalistic article structuration, journalistic cohesion, advertisement production, sections that compose the journalistic piece, etc. Indeed, the aim was to teach and learning, assimilation of uses of English regarding descriptive and persuasive uses and knowledge about areas and structuration of newspapers.

Healthcare knowledge management HKM has attracted extensive attention in the previous years as a strategical partner with the general strategy of organizations. The HKM aims to identify the organization strategic position within the competitive market. The present study tries to answer many questions that formed the study problem including do hospitals and health units depend on the healthcare knowledge storage to perform its strategical tasks and how to run this healthcare knowledge; does the healthcare knowledge transformation represent the main base to attain these especial strategic tasks by identifying its strategic position. A virtual form has been proposed that reflects the interaction relation nature between variables. The virtual form is clarified by the study's main assumption which was tested using data obtained from surveys and other different data collecting methods about different Iraqi hospitals and health units. The study highlighted the significant role of the HKM in hospitals and health units. Also, it was found that the Iraqi hospitals PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 237 and health units have a growing interest to diagnose its weaknesses to build a strong internal environment. The present study recommends holding training courses continuously to improve the staff’s abilities. In addition, the study recommends establishing environmental analysis units to study and evaluate environmental changes.

Film as a relatively new medium has influenced the formation of collective consciousness almost from its inception. The generation brought up in the era of glass screens and familiar with the style instilled by mass media has soaked in with some patterns. Michael Haneke's unusual cinema argues with the popular models of film creation. It allows the viewer to make his interpretations, does not facilitate anything, and makes a distance that is supposed to lead to reflection. Haneke brings to light the darkest corners of the human mind. In The White Ribbon (2009) Haneke depicts the society in a northern German village just before World War I. This cinematic work has an important social and ethical significance for the contemporary viewer. It also cannot be denied a deep psychological dimension. The movie poses questions about the face of post-traumas of the 20th century. Haneke shows that behind huge mechanisms are ordinary people with a specific social entanglement. The author aims to try to search for the genesis of violence and the decline of societies based on the mentioned picture. The author uses in her work analytical synthetic, comparative, and film analysis methods.
