Electronic learning (e-learning), pedagogy using online technology without physical proximity among the people involved, accelerated due to the recent pandemic and continues its metamorphosis in our endemic world. This new world creates new opportunities to apply e-learning in global contexts, by itself or blended with traditional methods as conditions warrant. Four iterations of a model are described and discussed in terms of adaptability, student satisfaction variables, development of intercultural competence, and global identity. The newest iteration combines previous iterations' e-learning and experiential learning opportunities with participants' occupational and program-specific experiences. The authors include testable outcomes and future possibilities.

Veronika Decides to Die is one of Paulo Coelho's best-selling novels, through which he describes in details what is happening inside the wall of mental hospitals. The novel was first published in 1998. The researcher selects this novel as there is no study has been done so far in analyzing Veronika Decides to Die from a semiotics viewpoint. There are two main Semiotics theories, one is represented by the Swiss linguistics Ferdinand de Saussure and another is represented by the American philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce. Peirce's triadic theory of icon, index and symbol. The latter has been selected as a tool in answering the research question of: What are the main signs in Coelho's Veronika Decides to Die?

Although knowledge sharing has been discussed quite a bit in the literature, the mediating and moderating mechanisms that influence team members in knowledge sharing to move from connecting with each other to building social capital and consequently engaging in knowledge sharing are still largely unexplored. This paper aims to shed light on the currently poorly understood knowledge flow of project managers across the value chain in the food-mass-production industry and to show the significance of competitive intelligence for plants in in the mass-production industry, the influence of competitive intelligence on strategic decisions, especially on positioning decisions, and the extent to which this process is influenced by the development of external influences and framework conditions. The findings are based on a literature review and the author’s five years of action research in the foot-packaging industry, supplemented by his annual audits. Unfortunately, literature examining the influence of organizational culture on knowledge sharing behaviours is not widely available. Thus, this paper is a methodological-theoretical attempt to review the literature on knowledge sharing examples, and thoroughly parses the knowledge gaps and potential pitfalls of misunderstanding. Unfortunately, literature examining the influence of organizational culture on knowledge sharing behaviours is not widely available. The results of this paper enrich the theory of organizational culture and knowledge management and help policy makers in providing measures to develop knowledge sharing behaviours.

The purposes of this research were 1) to investigate Thai and non-Thai teachers’ perspectives on peer feedback activities in English oral presentations; 2) to compare the perspectives on peer feedback activities of Thai and non-Thai teachers, and 3) to explore possible reasons affecting the Thai and non-Thai teachers’ perspectives on peer feedback activities in their real classroom practices. The study was conducted with 5 Thai and 5 foreign instructors. Questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observations were used to collect the data. Descriptive statistics and content analysis were employed in the data analysis. The results revealed that 1) in general both Thai and non-Thai instructors moderately agreed that peer feedback was beneficial for students, 2) the perspectives of Thai and non-Thai teachers in most items were not significantly different, and 3) there were six possible reasons why Thai and non-Thai teachers have different perspectives on some issues towards the use of peer feedback activities.

The concept of mass customization envisages a firm pursuing differentiation vis-à-vis its competitors in the form of its customized solutions to the consumers, and at the same time adopting cost-effective measures to bring down the cost of production of those solutions. Mass customization has proved to be a path-breaking approach in many industries like fashion, footwear and computer. In this paper, we aim to cover the possibilities of mass customization in the smartphone industry at the hardware, software as well as OS level. We will also cover how, by implementing mass customization, smartphone companies can save costs of finished goods inventories, and at the same time, increase consumers’ willingness to pay by providing them with customized solutions. This paper proposes a smart solution for implementing mass customization through mathematical formulation and aims to detect the optimized groups and cost estimation.

Massive tin mining in Bangka Belitung Islands significantly contributes to environmental issues, attracting media attention. For instance, several media continuously report environmental issues concerning tin mining with their respective perspectives. Therefore, this study aimed to describe and determine the news’ perspective concerning the tin mining conflict in Bangka Belitung Islands using a literature approach. This is with secondary data sources in the form of regulations and media record data. The results showed that the media attention in reporting on tin mining ranged from reclamation issues, regulations and policies, mining accidents, conflicts, impacts of tin mining, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and law enforcement. This means that the media has not yet reached the investigative stage of discussing certain issues that need in-depth studies. Although the local media have covered various environmental issues, the coverage is only descriptive and not directed towards investigative environmental journalism.

Tourism was one of the most affected sectors by the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020 which had a devastating impact on the economy, and researchers are questioning the future of tourism in a post-pandemic world. In this exploratory text, based on a literature review, it is questioned if creative tourism can play a role in the rebuilding of the tourism industry, once it relies on place-based experiences that use local resources and involves communities and tourists in immersive activities. Creative tourism seems to be a response to the challenges, namely the tourists’ perception of physical distancing, the need to avoid over-tourism, mass tourism and touristification, the desire to reconnect with other people and to have enriching emotional experiences, the increase of awareness about sustainability (for places and future generations) and the resident’s needs and their living conditions. This paper relates the ongoing research on post-pandemic tourism, from several points of view – the tourist’s perceptions, the communities and territories’ needs, and the tourism planners’ vision… – with creative tourism, addressing the opportunities for such tourism, and questioning its feasibility and potential contribution to more meaningful tourism for both hosts and guests, to local economies grow, and to making tourism more sustainable.

The study focuses on the competitiveness of the V4 countries. The aim of this study is to analyse the relative position of the V4 countries. This follows on from several comparative studies published in previous years, in which we have already dealt with the competitiveness situation of the V4 countries (Varga & Csiszárik-Kocsir, 2020; Varga, 2018; Varga & Csiszárik-Kocsir, 2015). Building on the previous data, we seek to answer the question to what extent the competitiveness of the countries in the region has changed in relation to each other and whether there has been a substantial change in the competitiveness ranking of the V4 countries. By comparing the results, we can see which of the V4 countries performs best and whether there has been a change in competitiveness at the top of the list. The comparison also makes it possible to identify the efforts made by the V4 countries to become more competitive. The 2022 snapshot is of particular interest, as the COVID-19 crisis or the Russian-Ukrainian war have had an impact on national competitiveness developments, although the effects of the latter will only be reflected in statistics and reports at a later stage. National competitiveness changes independently of these factors, so it may be necessary to determine the exact situation on a regular basis.

The pandemic that erupted and escalated in 2020 has brought unprecedented changes to our daily lives. The new situation has challenged everyone. We have had to face unprecedented constraints, change the way we used to work, and experience a new level of uncertainty. Not only households but also businesses and entrepreneurs faced serious problems. Businesses were faced with a huge challenge in terms of disrupted supply chains and the loss of labor. Jobs were lost and jobs became precarious as a result of the pandemic. All these challenges proved to be not only livelihood but also psychologically stressful for the average person. Many feared for their economic livelihoods and even worried about their health. In this study, we want to show what were the fears and worries people had about the overnight austerity measures in 2020 and the unprecedented pandemic emergency, according to the results of a primary survey conducted in Hungary.

The 2008 crisis has taught us a lot in many areas. We have realised the importance of making informed choices in all areas of life, including finance. The importance of financial literacy has been brought into sharp focus as a result of these events, which have highlighted the gaps and knowledge disadvantages that could have prevented the events and disadvantages that most of society suffered as a result of the crisis. However, in many countries, financial awareness is still conceptual, much discussed, researched and studied, but in many cases no real change is visible or tangible. In many cases, awareness programmes and initiatives are still in an experimental phase and are not yet integrated into the day-to-day management of problems. In our study, we aim to demonstrate the practical importance of financial literacy, awareness and culture in everyday life, based on the results of a primary research study conducted in Hungary after the pandemic outbreak, interviewing more than 6800 participants. In the course of this work, we wanted to find out to what extent respondents' participation in preventive financial education influenced their perceptions of the statements on each topic. In addition to the basic statistics, we used cross-tabulation analyses and adjusted standardised residuals to identify correlations.
