Urban literary studies have become an important issue in contemporary multicultural Sweden, especially after the 70s, when the public housing project Miljonprogram (“Million Programme”) was completed (1974). Nowadays, these areas are partly regarded as a political failure since they have become places of social and even racial segregation. A central cultural consequence of multiculturalism in Sweden is the so-called Invandrarlitteratur (“immigrants’ literature”), mainly represented by second-generation authors. In this article, I will try to provide a concise but exhaustive understanding of how this kind of literature can reshape the Miljonprogram areas and define what Sweden is today. The aim is to show how these suburban spaces, through a chosen collection of three works, are narrated by immigrant authors not as sites, i.e. spaces as such, but rather as places, i.e. spaces whose meaning is provided by the (literary) subjectivities who live and act therein (Prieto 2013). Using the concept of heterotopia (Foucault 1986) and its defining criteria, I will investigate how these works perform a total reassertion of space, emphasizing the space described as rhizomatic (Deleuze & Guattari 2011) peripheries, i.e. the result of a sensitive relationship between self and space. This investigation is designed to reflect on how the perception of suburbs has changed from first to second-generation immigrant writers and it hopes to open a new research line in which stigmatizing dystopias can be replaced by heterotopias. This study examines the conditional sentence structures in Igbo and Tongan languages and aims to reveal the similarities and differences between these languages regarding the semantic structure and syntactic characteristics of the conditional clauses. Therefore, the contrastive analysis procedure is applied which consists of three steps as (1) description; (2) juxtaposition; (3) comparison (Krzeszowski, 1990). In pursuit of the description of the conditional sentence structures in Igbo and Tongan languages, they are juxtaposed and compared. This contrastive analysis procedure revealed that Igbo and Tongan languages have both the first, second, and third conditions. In addition, Tongan has also zero conditions. Moreover, they may use different forms to express the condition which gives the meaning that the situation may or may not be fulfilled, theoretically possible but unlikely future situations and impossible conditions. In view of all the similarities and differences found in the analysis, Tongan and Igbo languages which are the member of different language families and whose native speakers live so far away from each other share common points in regard to the types of conditional clause while their structures differ in terms of degree.

Current global trends and discussions in media are mainly focusing on sustainable development goals with an emphasis on the reduction of environmental damages caused by companies. However, another important social/sustainable criterion is constituted by the role of how the company employees are reflected: the human capital. Human capital is defined as the sum of an employee’s experience and skills, which he/she profitably brings into a company. Although being perceived for increasing productivity and thus profitability, the intangible asset is not listed on a company’s balance sheet. In the context of investor relations management, the financial community is more frequently demanding additional (soft) facts on personnel data (e.g. mean age, employee satisfaction, training opportunities) for company valuations. Solely evaluating (hard) facts – such as profits, turnovers, and further classical figures – are no longer adequate to gain the true value of a PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 131 company. On that basis, we investigate the relevance of human capital within the investor relations management context for all 30 German DAX-companies. In doing so, our research consists of a mixed-methods-approach, thereby combining quantitative and qualitative elements. In the first step, the company reporting – annual reports, personnel reports, CSR-reports, and non-financial reports – for all DAX30-companies is analyzed by using specific criteria model based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The findings are taken into the qualitative part by interviewing company representatives from DAX30-companies as well as management consulting firms. The overall findings provide empirical evidence, that the German DAX30-companies lack proper strategies to assess personnel data as well as represent proper information for fair company valuations.
《PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences》ISSN 2454-5899 131。

In March 2019 China and Italy signed nineteen deals stated in the Memorandum of Understanding, that set off a new era for the Sino Italian economic partnership. Italy joined the “Belt and Road Initiative” the infrastructure maxi plan of the People’s Republic of China, which includes ports, railway lines, roads, and maritime corridors. The present research can fill a chronological gap of the relationship found in some of the previous academic works, pondering the progress in different fields during the current century: infrastructures, economy, culture, education, science and technology, innovation, society, military, arts, fashion, food, and tourism. The latest advancement of the China-Italy economic partnership is examined through the crossnational comparative method and the discourse analysis, exploring the benefits and the advantages for both countries. The author has begun to collect data from governmental sources and from the most relevant newspapers of Italy, China, Europe, the United States, to monitor the development of events related to the signature of the MOU between Beijing and Rome. It is concluded that China and Italy will maintain a long and strong bilateral partnership over the PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 115 years by the constant dialogue and cooperation of the institutions. This research demonstrates the results of this win-win bilateral partnership and the benefits that both countries are perceiving.

The Prevention of Crime Act (POCA) 2014 is an act enacted to deal with criminal activities such as gangs, organized crime, drugs, and human trafficking. The Act is intended to regulate criminals, gangsters, and individuals who threaten national security and related matters. Even though there are a lot of awareness programs was conducted by the government, the number of offenders under POCA still increased. The offenders of POCA has a lack of awareness about his future life and goals so that it's easy to get into the crime. The purpose of this study is to explore the behavior of the participant under the crime prevention act (POCA) based on the theory of Reality. This study used a quasiexperimental qualitative method. An interview was conducted with a randomly selected participant under this Act who received a restraining order at the Police Station, Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia. In this interview session, the researcher explored the participant's experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The participant got benefits from this interview session. The participant gains awareness plans for the future, and be aware of the mistakes made. Participant also has thought to change PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 101 negative behaviors into positive ones after this interview session. In the future, researchers can observe the offenders’ behavior after job placement. Job-related programs will help POCA participants to get awareness and achieve their goals in life.
PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 101消极的行为在面试之后变成积极的行为。

The second language can be defined as any other language which is learned or acquired after their first language or their mother tongue. Learning or acquiring a second language can be a difficult task for anybody that wishes to speak or write in a language other than their first language. Teachers should have the basic knowledge of second language acquisition theories to provide a comprehensive teaching and learning environment to students. One of the most applied and well-accepted theories is Stephen’s Krashen’s theory of second language acquisition. The present study was carried out as an observation on students to address the importance of PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 88 Krashen’s Monitor Model and the Natural Approach in the stages of second language development to ensure effective teaching of the second language. The findings show that the cause of the input factor should be taken into consideration when teaching a second language/foreign language. The findings also indicated that cooperative learning can be a good method for students to get comprehensible input from their classmates.

The leader of the Likud Party in Israel, Ariel Sharon, made a contentious visit to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on September 28, 2000. Such an unprecedented move immediately gave rise to the outbreak of the second intifada, in which the President of Palestinian Authority, Yasser Arafat, unleashed Palestinian militias as a defensive response to Sharon's inconsiderate behavior. The second intifada not only triggered a great hostility and intensive debate among Jerusalem, but also revealed a series of reasons contributing to increasingly descend in mutual suspicion, discontent, and conflicts. The researcher used secondary resources, such as articles, media, and books, to examine explanations of the failure to unite Israel and Palestine, which were divided into the failure of the past attempts, and negotiations giving endless space for governors to enact self-centered policies continued illegal military occupation over Palestinian territory, and conventional as well as obstinate demanding and belief in Jerusalem. However, this political and ethical struggle also helped to appeal to combined emotion of indignation and worry from younger generations to their domestic respondents, as well as inferred the danger and urgency to have a third-party helping to detail an effective and explicit resolution to reverse the status quo.

Instituting fundamental Right actions has become one of the most popular forms of litigations in Nigeria; and for this credit must be given to the very liberal Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009 (FREP RULES) as against the FREP Rules, 1979 which is repealed. One cannot boldly say, without fear of contradiction that our courts are as proactive in their approach to some basic issues in fundamental rights litigation as the FREP Rules intends. This paper set out to re-visit the issue of jurisdiction in respect of fundamental rights litigations and required number of applicants permitted to institute to such actions; reviewing some authorities in the course and finally resolving that there is need for the apex court to finally distinguish between its decisions in Turkur v. Government of Gongola State (1988) All NLR 42 and Grace Jack v. University of Agriculture Makurdi (2004) LPELR – 1587 SC, (2004); 5NWLR (Pt. 865) 208 and to pronounce on the issue of the number of applicants that may present fundamental rights' cause in court; at any PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 57 time it is called upon to do so. The paper also recommended in the alternative, a tinkering of the FREP Rules to specifically handle the issues.

This paper set out to re-visit the issue of jurisdiction in respect of fundamental rights litigations and required number of applicants permitted to institute to such actions; reviewing some authorities in the course and finally resolving that there is need for the apex court to finally distinguish between its decisions in Turkur v. Government of Gongola State (1988) All NLR 42 and Grace Jack v. University of Agriculture Makurdi (2004) LPELR – 1587 SC, (2004); 5NWLR (Pt. 865) 208 and to pronounce on the issue of the number of applicants that may present fundamental rights' cause in court; at any PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences ISSN 2454-5899 57 time it is called upon to do so. The paper also recommended in the alternative, a tinkering of the FREP Rules to specifically handle the issues.","PeriodicalId":197416,"journal":{"name":"PEOPLE: International Journal of Social Sciences","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114715745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Contraband or smuggled cigarettes have caused socio-economy devastation and loss of revenue for this country. These cigarettes are sold at a lower price compared to the original cigarettes thus; attention is shifted to obtain the cheaper product. Law and law enforcement actions have been well defined; thus, such a phenomenon continues to occur. This study aims to explore the phenomenon of cigarette smuggling in Northern Malaysia and establish that attention is required to unearth the contributing factors and implement effective measures. This study was conducted using library design with reference materials derived from various resources related to the study. Based on the study conducted, contraband cigarettes impose a negative impact on the country, and identifying the contributing factors and combating this phenomenon is imperative. Combating this phenomenon requires close collaboration between the public, traders, and government.
