Impact of Demonetization on Indian Economy 废钞运动对印度经济的影响

Demonetization is a drastic intervention into the economy involving removal of the legal tender status of a currency. Demonetization is used as a tool to stabilize a currency and fight inflation, to facilitate trade and access to markets and to push informal economic activity into more transparency and away from black and gray markets. Impact of demonetization is extremely immense and fundamentally major as far as Indian economy is concerned.  An  attempt has been made in this paper to discover the elements and effects of demonetization on the Indian economy and its kin. It is observed that the principle for leading demonetization by the Government was to evacuate black money which appeared to be vital for arresting anti-national activities and for fighting against corruption.  The exercise may produce various short-term or long-term impacts on economy. The study attempts to perceive the meaning and reasons of demonetization. This study also gives an insight into the positive and negative impact of demonetization on Indian economy. An Introduction to the Study of Time management 时间管理研究导论

Time management develops strategies to maximize time to achieve personal and organizational goals. Organizational strategies benefit the individual leader as well the organization like planning, goal setting, delegation, decision authority, and work life balance. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview for those interested in the current state‐of‐the‐art in time management research. The review demonstrates that time management behaviors relate positively to perceived control of time, job satisfaction and health, and negatively to stress. This review makes clear which effects may be expected of time management, which aspects may be most useful for which individuals, and which work characteristics would enhance or hinder positive effects. Its outcomes may help to develop more effective time management practices. The article examines the reasons for the increasing popularity of time management. It then reviews some of the major concepts contained in the literature: efficiency, effectiveness and life goals; how to find the time; keeping a time log; time planning systems; getting organized; and how to become an effective time manager.       Keywords: Time management, Time planning, Performance outcomes, Job satisfaction, Training, Control, Self-development

Leadership plays an important role in the success of organization and employee motivation. The culture of leadership in this region has been shaped over centuries through a variety of factors, such as reputation, family, and religion, which continue to influence decision-making. Unlike many other regions in the world, a diverse range of nationalities and different cultures characterize the Middle East and particularly the United Arab Emirates. Official estimates suggest that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) hosts some 200 different nationalities. In such a context, diversity becomes an enormous challenge for organizations to choose the right leader with the appropriate leadership style to assure their success. Human Resource functions need to ensure that they choose the right people, management practices, and processes that will develop the right leaders who can lead and motivate employees to achieve the organization’s vision and mission.

Fiscal Reaction Functions and Public Debt Sustainability in Nigeria: An Error Correction Mechanism Approach. 尼日利亚财政反应函数与公共债务可持续性:一个纠错机制方法。

The study determined the tendency for public debt sustainability in Nigeria by examining the responsiveness of fiscal authorities to rising debt accumulation. The study employed the error correction methodology to estimate the fiscal reaction functions used in the study. The Johansen cointegration tests revealed the existence of long run relationship between public debt and primary balance among other variables in the models estimated. The existence of cointegrating relationship in all models revealed that the necessary condition of achieving debt sustainability is satisfied. However, the sufficiency condition for a sustainable debt could not be met. The violation of the tenet of the intertemporal budget constraint, in the long run, suggested that fiscal authorities could not generate enough surpluses in reaction to public debt increases. The primary balance exhibited a negative response towards all contemporaneous values of public debt components thereby corroborating the long run findings. However, the response of primary balance to the lagged values of external, domestic and total debt in the short run was positive in line to the government budget constraint; a signal of a sustainable public debt in the short run. The study concluded that the fiscal operations of Nigerian government could not sufficiently allow for a sustainable debt; hence, the consistent running of this fiscal stance could either spur harsh adjustment measures in the long run or result to insolvency and default.

Accountancy as unfolding profession: A case of Pakistan 会计作为一种正在发展的职业:以巴基斯坦为例

Accountancy has evolved as an important profession in an organization. Professional accountancy plays a vital role that contributes to the overall progress and stability of an organization. Professional accountancy helps the businesses to reduce cost, mitigate the risk and improve profitability. This paper aims to check the importance of different factors such as education and knowledge regarding IFRS, information technology and government legislation in the evolving trends of this profession in a developing economy like Pakistan. Our findings suggest that information technology positively affect the emerging trends of professional accountancy. Further result shows that professional accountants` knowledge about IFRS and Govt. legislation is insufficient. For the evolving economy as Pakistan the education and training mechanism of professional accountants should inculcate the interaction of accounting system and legal system. It may enable accountants to expand accounting applications to a wide variety of business and financial settings and prepare for public and private accounting positions that will play its role in the improvement of accurate financial disclosures.

A Framework for the Strategic Management of Information Technology 信息技术战略管理框架

The complementary between IT as a competitive factor and strategic management is very important for gaining competitive advantages. This paper explores factors related to strategy and IT that should be considered for the strategic analysis of IT as a competitive factor, and proposes a framework for Strategic Technology Management (STM). The research is conducted by means of quantitative and qualitative analysis of data. The framework is expanded and validated through inference to findings of large and small to medium-sized enterprises through interviews, finally ending on theory matching.  The results of the analysis show that the strategic management of information technology is a continuous process of evaluation and change and that the alignment between factors such as competitive environment, competitive strategies (business and IT strategies), competitive outcome, and competitive factors gain competitive advantages for industrial companies.

Institutional Quality and Financial Sector Development: Empirical Evidence from Nigeria 制度质量与金融部门发展:来自尼日利亚的经验证据

In view of the indispensable role of financial sector in both emerging and developing economies, there has been a notable spotlight on the financial sector development over the years in most African countries. Nonetheless, there are only a few studies on this topical issue, particularly for Nigeria. Hence, this study examines the long – run and short – run dynamic relationship between institutional quality and financial development in Nigeria over the period of 1984 – 2015 using Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bounds test approach to cointegration. Using two different indicators (Private credit and M2) of financial development, the results consistently show that institutional factors do not have significant effect on financial development in the long – run as well as in the short – run. Furthermore, the empirical evidence indicates that regulatory quality and governance system (institutions) do not necessarily contribute to financial development in a feeble institutional environment, specifically in Nigeria. Thus, our findings suggest that whilst weak institutions could increase the risk of limiting the functioning of financial system, good governance and strong institutions are the essential ingredient of financial development in Nigeria. As a consequence, policies aimed at strengthening the quality of institutions and governance should form the major policy thrust of government (policy makers). These could help improving financial sector development in Nigeria.

Thus, our findings suggest that whilst weak institutions could increase the risk of limiting the functioning of financial system, good governance and strong institutions are the essential ingredient of financial development in Nigeria. As a consequence, policies aimed at strengthening the quality of institutions and governance should form the major policy thrust of government (policy makers). Harmonizing Modern Day Employee Engagement with the Sociological Theory of Symbolic Interactionism 现代员工敬业度与符号互动主义社会学理论的协调

Employee Engagement (EE) spans over 30 years discourse within the practitioner and scientific domain, and have become a strategic imperative within organizations. However, due to the tumultuous history of inconsistencies in conceptualization, poor validation, and various discrepancies among scholars and practitioners, the construct has attracted interest across disciplines and industry. Accordingly, the claims of its positive impact on bottom line and other organizational outcome have become the catalyst for further research. Owing to that, this paper highlights past and present findings on EE. Drawing on previous studies, we highlight the cons of the construct and propose a multi-foci approach that extends the positive psychology perspective. We reference the earlier works of Kahn, and the influence sociology played in the conceptualization of Kahn’s theory of the employee’s preferred self. We conclude and recommend the Interactionist view as a theoretical framework within the field of industrial sociology to support our arguments. Examining the Role of Relationship Marketing in Public Service Organi-zations: A Study Within Kuwaiti Healthcare Public Sector 考察关系营销在公共服务组织中的作用:科威特卫生保健公共部门的研究

Public services have a significant impact on the competitiveness of economies, that’s why public agencies are developing new ways of delivering public services within a multi-channel logic. This study examines the ap-plication of relationship marketing in the public healthcare sector in Kuwait as public services organizations. It examines customer satisfaction and trust as indicators of the applications of Relationship marketing within these organizations. A survey was conducted, collecting data through a questionnaire containing 34 items that was completed by 887 randomly selected public hospital patients and multiple regression analysis was used for data analysis. The results revealed that relationship marketing is applied to some extent within these organiza-tions. The study also included a road map for improving marketing performance in these organizations and the similar public sector ones.

Self versus employees’ Appraisal of managers’ emotional intelligence: the case of Gweru and Kwekwe city councils, Midlands Province, Zimbabwe 自我与员工对管理者情商的评价:以津巴布韦米德兰兹省圭鲁和圭圭市议会为例

Emotional Intelligence has become increasingly popular as a management tool for boosting performance at work. Despite this popularity, there is no sustained research in Zimbabwe that substantiates the efficacy of emotional intelligence especially within municipality environments. Using Goleman’s four clusters of emotional intelligence self-awareness, emotional intelligence self-management, emotional intelligence awareness of others and emotional intelligence management of others managers rated themselves high as compared to employee ratings. The results indicate that managers may be clueless as to employee perceptions of their behaviour. It is important that managers constantly get feedback from those they lead so that they improve their attitude and behaviour. Using purposive and stratified sampling techniques, 32 managers and 400 subordinates participated in the study. The instrument that measured Goleman’s emotional intelligence through self-rating was reliable with Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficients ranging from emotional self-awareness 0.846, emotional self-management 0.886, emotional awareness of others 0.939 and emotional intelligence management of others 0.960. The instrument used by employees to rate managers was also reliable with the Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficients ranging from emotional intelligence self-awareness 0.807, emotional intelligence self-management 0.834, emotional intelligence awareness of others 0.858 and emotional intelligence management of others 0.945. The hypothesis that self rating and others’ rating can-not be same was validated.
