: Skin wound healing in animals often requires veterinary intervention with mesenchymal stem cell-derived microvesicles (MSC-MVs) emerging as a promising therapeutic avenue. MSC-MVs, minute membrane-bound structures carrying bioactive molecules, play a crucial role in influencing wound-healing processes. They modulate inflammation, which is vital for tissue repair, and stimulate the proliferation and migration of skin cells and fibroblasts, thereby facilitating tissue regeneration. Furthermore, they induce angiogenesis, which is crucial for the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the wound site. However, realizing their potential in routine veterinary practice entails addressing current challenges. Tailored research on the optimal e ffi cacy in target animal species is imperative because of species specificity. Determining the appropriate dosing and administration frequency for di ff erent wound types is crucial to avoid compromising the e ffi cacy or introducing side e ff ects. Developing e ffi cient delivery methods suitable for diverse veterinary applications remains a priority along with standardizing production protocols to ensure consistent quality and therapeutic e ff ects. Although generally safe, further investigation into the potential side e ff ects, especially with prolonged use, is necessary. A cost-e ff ectiveness analysis is essential to ensure accessibility. Future research should focus on comparative clinical trials, exploring combination therapies and targeted delivery systems, and optimizing MSC-MVs and their cargo properties. Long-term safety and e ff ectiveness studies are vital, particularly for chronic wound management. Finally, cost-benefit analysis will determine the feasibility of incorporating MSC-MVs into routine veterinary care, potentially revolutionizing wound healing

: The experiment was done for assess the utilization of potato chips scraps (PCS) as a substitute with a corn in basal diet on feeding behavior patterns, growth performance and economic e ffi ciency of Japanese quails. A total number of 144 unsexed Japanese quails during age of 14 days were distributed randomly allocated into three treatments with each treatment further subdivided into four replicates. The treatment one received a basal diet as a control, while treatments 2 and 3 had yellow corn replaced with two levels of PCS, i.e., 4% and 8%, respectively. The quail were raised under the same management conditions with ad libitum feed and water o ff ered. Various parameters, such as body weight gain, body weight, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, feeding behavior patterns and economic e ffi ciency were appraised. Our results showed that the birds received (PCS) 4% and 8% higher significantly (p ≤ 0.05) value of body weight gain , body weight, performance index, economic e ffi ciency, intestine length, total lipids, cholesterol, triglycerides and HDL than control group. While, there were no found significant di ff erence between treatments for feed consumption. Moreover, the high (p ≤ 0.05) value of LDL was found in control group than other treatments group. In conclusion, the supplementation of the diet with PCS at the levels of 4% and 8% did not have any adverse impact on the bird’s performance

: Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is still the etiology of serious economic losses among poultry flocks despite extensive vaccination regimens. During this study, 100 samples were collected from different poultry flocks, New Valley Governorate, Egypt in the period 2022-2023. Positive IBV samples using real time RT-PCR assay (16 samples show positivity with percentage 64%) were subjected to virus isolation through egg inoculation. IBV cytopathic effect on SPF-ECE was mainly stunting, curling, and dwarfing of the inoculated embryos after 3 to 5 passages. The samples were identified by conventional RT-PCR at 400 bp in size then directed to partial sequencing targeting the spike gene (S) (HVR-III regions). Interestingly, the sequencing analysis of S1 gene revealed eleven isolates which were diversified into three distinct genotypes, GI-1 (three isolates), GI-13 (one isolate), and GI-23 (seven isolates). The New Valley-IBV-3-2022 isolate has genetically related to IS/1494/2006 and IBV-Eg/CLEVB-2/IBV/012 with nucleotide identity percentage 89%. Moreover, New Valley-IBV-4-2022, New Valley-IBV-7-2022 and New Valley-IBV-8-2022 isolates share similarity with IBV-H120 and IBV-Connecticut with nucleotide identity percentage 89%, 87%; respectively. Likewise, New Valley-IBV-10-2022 was similar to 4/91-1998 and IBV-Eg/CLEVB-2/IBV/012 with nucleotide identity percentage 94%, 83%. The current study confirmed the co-circulation of both variants and classic IBV strains in New Valley Governorate. IBV variant-II strains clustered in GI.23 lineages is still circulating in the Egyptian field causing persistent infection to poultry flocks despite broad vaccination regimes. Our isolates are antigenically different from vaccinal strains that highlight the importance of continuous monitoring and surveillance of IBV in commercial flocks to clarify genomic characteristics of predominant strains.

: This work was done to determine the effect of different colors of feeders on ingestive behavior, welfare and some blood parameters of quails. A total of 210 quail chicks (Coturnix coturnix japonica), one day old, which rearing with us till the age of 7 days then it randomly distributed into five treatments 42 quails in each (14 birds x 3 replicates) as control or commercial type (white), red, blue, yellow and green feeders. The results showed that, blue, green and yellow feeders colors groups cause an increase in overall ingestive behavior (feeding and drinking), good welfare parameter (lower tonic immobility duration, tonic immobility induction) and less cortisol level while, red feeder group had a longer tonic immobility duration more tonic immobility induction numbers and more cortisol level (bad welfare parameters). So, we concluded that using different feeders color (blue, green yellow) may be enhanced ingestive behavior without negatively effect on blood parameters or quails welfare.

: Background: Norethisterone, also known as Norethisterone Acetate (NETA), or Norethindrone, is a commonly used pro-gestogen in various European countries. Aim of the Work: Previous studies have shown that introducing synthetic hormones can alter the effects of sex hormones on the ovarian cycle and lead to negative outcomes for the ovaries. There is a lack of histological reports regarding the effects of NETA on the ovarian morphology. So, the present study focuses on the ovarian histological sequelae following the exposure to NETA in the albino rats. Materials and Methods : Fourteen adult female albino rats were investigated. They were randomly divided into two groups: Control group (A) and NETA treated group (B). Each one consisted of 7 rats. Albino rats of control group (A) were administered daily food and distilled water only, while rats of NETA treated group (B) were administered daily 20 µg of NETA dissolved in 2 ml distilled water, food, and water. The experiment was continued for three weeks. Results: The findings indicate that the use of NETA has negative effects on the ovarian follicles, including a reduction in their number and signs of atresia across all stages. Conclusion: This treatise underscored Norethisterone Acetate (NETA) has an adverse effect on the ovarian cycle and follicular development of the albino rat.

: This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of xylazine-ketamine anesthesia on reflexes and vital signs during and after tendon surgery in rabbits. Twenty healthy adult male rabbits (2-2.5 kg) were randomly assigned to two groups Xylazine-ketamine (XK) group and ketamine (K) group. Intramuscular injections of xylazine (5 mg/kg) and ketamine (35 mg/kg), were given to rabbits. The clinical parameters including rectal temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate were estimated prior to injection 0, 5, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, and 120 minutes post-anesthetic injection, As well as reflexes ear pinch reflex, and pedal reflex were measured before and after anesthetic injection. In the XK group, we observed that rectal temperature increased considerably (P < 0.05) at 5 and 15 minutes after induction and then gradually fell to preanesthetic control values. During the anesthetic phase, both groups’ heart rates and respiration rates were reduced significantly. In XK-injected rabbits, the return of reflexes was delayed compared to K injected groub. Surgical anesthesia in XK group lasted longer than K group. The XK combination provided sufficient anesthesia for rabbits, as evidenced by a prolonged anesthetic period, and good cardiovascular and other clinical indices.

Brucellosis is one of the serious infectious bacterial diseases endemic in Egypt, as it makes great economic losses because it makes high rates of abortion and infertility. This work intended to detect the seroprevalence of animal Brucellosis in the New Valley governorate. From March 2022 to May 2023, a cross-sectional examination investigating the seroprevalence of Brucellosis in various animals was carried out in the five centers of the New Valley governorate, Egypt. 954 serum samples from various animals (250 cattle, 100 camels, 335 sheep, and 269 goats) were collected in total. According to a serological analysis of serum samples, the prevalence of Brucellosis in cattle, camels, sheep, and goats using the Rose Bengal Plate test (RBPT) was, respectively, (8, 12, 14,6, and 16.7%). Summer was the season with the highest Brucellosis prevalence (42.6%). El-Dakhla has the highest level of Brucellosis prevalence (26.3%). In sheep, goats, cattle, and camels, the prevalence of Brucellosis was highest in the age groups of (<2,⩽1,⩽3, and < 3-5 year), respectively. Moreover, the prevalence of Brucellosis was greater in females than in males (13.5 and 11.7%, respectively). As a result, age, locality, sex, and season are the most important danger elements that can significantly affect the seroprevalence of animal Brucellosis.
