Objectives: to assess the accuracy of nursing diagnoses listed for the care of people living with HIV during hospitalization.
Methods: a cross-sectional, documentary, retrospective research conducted in a hospital in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Data were collected from medical records of hospitalized individuals living with HIV. The Nursing Diagnostic Accuracy Scale and the NANDA-I taxonomy were used.
Results: the sample consisted of 101 medical records and 218 diagnoses assessed. The prevalent diagnostic hypothesis as a precursor to the need for hospitalization was immunosuppression. The prevalent nursing diagnoses were "Risk for infection" (15.60%), "Risk for impaired skin integrity" (17.80%), and "Acute pain" (5.96%), with a predominance of accurate nursing diagnoses (60.55%).
Conclusions: most diagnoses were accurate, while the null accuracy category was relevant in the sample, suggesting that knowledge on this topic needs to be strengthened in professional practice.

Objective: to evaluate the educational actions proposed in the field of healthy lifestyles developed by the Canary Islands Health Service and by the teaching staff of the educational centres, with the help of students of the Nursing degree using Service-Learning.
Method: intervention project with a pretest-posttest that was developed from the II Edition of 'INGENIA. Agents of change for the SDGs', between February and July 2021. We proceeded to measure the impact of the intervention and the satisfaction of those involved.
Results: The programme was a success, increasing both the knowledge of healthy habits of primary school pupils and the satisfaction of the agents implementing the programme.
Final conclusions: the considerable increase in the satisfaction of both pupils and teachers who use this teaching methodology stands out, as well as the benefits it generates for the society in which they are involved.

Objectives: to evaluate the side effects of hormone therapy in patients with malignant breast neoplasia.
Methods: a cross-sectional, analytical study conducted in a mastology outpatient clinic in Ceará, Brazil. Seventy-five women with breast cancer using tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors were included and classified into four subgroups based on the type and duration of therapy. Fisher's exact test was used to assess the association between associated factors and the occurrence of side effects.
Results: women using tamoxifen for >12 months had more sexual complaints. Hot flashes, musculoskeletal pain, and fatigue predominated in the anastrozole groups. There was a statistically significant association between side effects and daily lifestyle habits, previous treatment, and calcium replacement therapy.
Conclusions: all groups presented some side effects and there are some factors that can intensify these symptoms, therefore, health professionals should monitor these effects to intervene early.

Objectives: to map studies on mobile applications that offer non-pharmacological therapies aimed at improving the health-related quality of life of cancer patients.
Methods: a scoping review was conducted based on the methodological framework of the JBI and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews checklist. Data search, selection, and analysis were carried out between April and May 2024 across the BVS, EMBASE, MEDLINE, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and CINAHL databases.
Results: seven articles published between 2018 and 2022 were included. Five studies (71.4%) were randomized clinical trials, classified as level of evidence 1B. The "Headspace" app was cited in two studies (28.6%), and mindfulness interventions were implemented in six studies (85.7%). The results indicated significant effects in reducing anxiety and depression, as well as improvements in health-related quality of life.
Conclusions: the studies demonstrated that mobile applications are feasible interventions in clinical practice.

Objectives: to describe the experience of using point-of-care ultrasound to monitor enteral nutrition tolerance in a critically ill patient.
Methods: this is a nursing experience report on the use of bedside ultrasound to manage enteral feeding tolerance in an intensive care unit.
Results: after unsuccessful attempts to optimize enteral nutrition, ultrasound-based monitoring of gastric volume revealed a significant delay in gastric emptying when gastric volume was compared to the administered feeding rate. This enabled early detection of gastroparesis and facilitated timely clinical decision-making for managing gastric intolerance.
Final considerations: this report highlights point-of-care ultrasound as a promising tool for monitoring enteral nutrition tolerance in critically ill patients and brings attention to the relevance of analyzing gastric volume in relation to the feeding rate.

Objectives: to analyze the sexual behavior of individuals who tested positive for HIV and were treated at Testing and Counseling Centers, according to sociodemographic characteristics.
Methods: this was a cross-sectional study conducted in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil, between 2018 and 2021. Data were collected from patient records, including sociodemographic and sexual behavior variables, which were dichotomized as high vs. low/moderate risk.
Results: a total of 214 individuals were included, of whom 111 (51.9%) exhibited high-risk sexual behavior: having a steady or casual partner, having six or more partners, having relationships with both men and women, sometimes/never using condoms and lubricants, and having anal sex. No association was identified between high-risk sexual behavior and sociodemographic variables.
Conclusions: high-risk sexual behavior was observed among individuals living with HIV without a specific profile, requiring public policies that encourage the adoption of safe sex practices and reduce virus transmission.

Objectives: to identify factors associated with the presence of emotional disorders and the quality of life of nursing professionals who provided care to patients with COVID-19.
Methods: a quantitative study was conducted between February and March 2021, with a convenience sample of 11,477 nursing professionals from Brazilian institutions. The Self-Reporting Questionnaire-20 and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-bref were administered.
Results: in the sample (86.24% women, mean age 33.27 years), female professionals belonging to a risk group for COVID-19, who worked in hospitals with a shortage of personal protective equipment, suffered verbal or physical aggression on public transportation, or were isolated from their families, presented higher levels of emotional disorders measured by the Self-Reporting Questionnaire-20 and reduced quality of life in all World Health Organization Quality of Life-bref domains.
Conclusions: personal and institutional work conditions have impacted the mental health and quality of life of Brazilian nurses.

Objectives: to describe the development process of an instrument to monitor the development of (self-)care competencies in individuals with gastrostomies and their caregivers.
Methods: methodological research study. Content validity was obtained through a focus group of experts. The instrument was pre-tested on a sample of 18 participants, using a non-probabilistic and intentional sampling technique. Inter-rater agreement was also assessed at a hospital in northern Portugal.
Results: the study resulted in an instrument with 34 measurement indicators, grouped into six domains, with recognized content validity. In the instrument pre-test, good inter-rater agreement values of 80-100% were obtained.
Conclusions: the instrument proved to be comprehensive and easy to apply in assessing (self)care competency in feeding ostomies, offering potential for future validity investigations.

Objectives: to develop a middle-range theory for the risk for shock in people with acute myocardial infarction.
Methods: theoretical-causal validity of the nursing diagnosis "Risk for shock" in people with acute myocardial infarction, based on a middle-range theory. The study followed six stages: definition of the approach for theory construction; definition of conceptual models; definition of main concepts; development of pictorial diagram; construction of propositions; establishment of causal relationships and evidence for practice.
Results: three essential attributes were identified, 23 clinical antecedents related to the risk for shock, eight theoretical propositions were formulated, and causal relationships were established between the identified stimuli and the essential attributes.
Conclusions: the theory developed established relationships between theory and practice based on the establishment of propositions and causal relationships that allow nurses' diagnostic reasoning.

Objectives: to analyze the creation and implementation of the first class of the Hospital Nursing Specialization Course focusing on Neonatal Nursing, between the years 2000 and 2001.
Methods: a historical-social, descriptive study using documentary research, adopting established criteria for reporting qualitative research.
