4 Cases of Habitual abortion treated by Jokyungjongok-tang gamibang 曹景钟谷汤加味方治疗习惯性流产4例

Objectives : The prevalence of infertility is reported to be 23.3%, which is a serious social problem. Habitual abortion is one of the important complications during pregnancy. The purpose of this study is to help the treatment of habitual abortion by observing and reporting the process in which four women who did not have children due to habitual abortion make healthy birth through treatment. Methods : We administered Jokyungjongok-tang gamibang as a herbal medicine treatment method and treated with acupuncture, moxibustion and uterine steam treatment. Treatment was done once or twice a week but it was also varied depending on the patient's circumstances. The herbal medicines were taken 30 minutes after meals and 3 times a day. While taking the Korean medicine, they were prohibited from eating flour, pork, liquor, tobacco and coffee. Patient status was assessed by consultation through pulse, tongue and abdomen. A detailed questionnaire was performed for each treatment. In some cases, they have tested hormone levels at the hospitals to know ovulation dates. The diagnosis of pregnancy was confirmed by ultrasonography at hospitals and the treatment for habitual abortion was judged based on healthy birth. Results : As a result of herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion and uterine steam treatment, the coldness of the body became weak, the fatigue decreased and the digestive condition gradually began to improve. The bad condition of the uterus caused by the repeated administration of heritage has been improved with Boheosaenghwa-tang gamibang. After administration of Jokyungjongok-tang gamibang, they became pregnant and overcame the condition of addictive abortion and gave birth to healthy children. Conclusion : Jokyungjongok-tang gamibang is effective in overcoming the symptoms of habitual abortion and giving birth to a healthy child for a woman who had no children due to her habitual abortion

Investigation of the differential effect of juice or water extract from Puerariae Radix on hair growth related-genes in dermal papilla cells 葛根汁和水提物对毛乳头细胞毛发生长相关基因差异影响的研究

Objectives : Puerariae Radix extracts are a rich source of isoflavones that affect the activity of hepatic antioxidant enzymes. However, the effect of these extracts on hair growth in human dermal papilla (DP) cells is unknown. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects between juice and water extracts of Puerariae Radix on the mRNA expression levels of hair growth-related genes in dermal papilla (DP) cells. Methods : The antioxidant activity of juice and water extracts of Puerariae Radix was analyzed using an ABTS assay. The cytotoxicity was analyzed using the MTS assay in DP cells. mRNA expression levels of hair growth-related genes in dermal papilla (DP) cells were analyzed using quantitative RT-PCR analysis. Results : Juice and water extracts of Puerariae Radix showed strong antioxidant activity. The cytotoxicity was confirmed to be higher in the juice extract than the water extract, using the MTS assay on DP cells. The mRNA expression levels of CTNNB1, FGF7, and BMP6 were significantly increased after treatment with water extract, whereas the juice extract did not affect the expression of hair growth-related genes. Conclusions : Our study provides evidence that water extract of Puerariae Radix is effective at inducing hair growth, by promoting the mRNA expression levels of hair growth-related genes. Also in the future, studies should be conducted to investigate the effects of Puerariae radix extracts on the various hair growth mechanisms of dermal papilla cells.

A Herbological Study on the Plants of Magnoliaceae in Korea 标题韩国木兰科植物的草药学研究

Objective : For the purpose of developing Magnoliaceae plants recorded in Korean Herbology in Korea, the literatures of the successive generations have been thoroughly investigated to prepare this article. Methods : Books and research papers about Herbology which published at Korea and other countries were examined. Results : A list was made about Magnoliaceae plant which were cultivated or grew naturally in Korea, after investigated the data on domestic and foreign Magnoliaceae plants. Out of those lists, serviceable plants were selected and with those available plants, their distributions were analysed and parts which can be used as medicines were divided into 3 categories such as oriental medicine name, scientific name and non-official name. Magnoliaceae’s properties flavor, channels they use, effects, and toxicity were also noted. Magnoliaceae(grew in Korea) were divided into 5 classes with 16 species. Out of those, 3 classes with 5 species were found serviceable which indicates 32% of all. Out of all 16 species of Magnoliaceae family, Magnolia genus were found 7 species, which were shown the most. Among 3 genus of Magnolia species, medicinal plants were all one species each. Out of all serviceable parts in Magnoliaceae, Flos parts took first place as 3 species. There are no toxic, the survey said. Conclusion : There were totaled to 5 genera and 16 species in Magnoliaceae in Korea and among them medicinal plants are 3 genera, 5 species, some 32% in total.
