Purpose: The aims of this study was to determine risk factor of amblyopia in malagasy children. Methods: It was a case-control study doing at Hospital University Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona from 1st september to 01st february 2022. The case were children who had functional amblyopia. The control were children who didn’t have amblyopia and came to the hospital for vision anomaly and had a similar demography specificity like case. The number of controls was twice the number of cases. All children with organic ophthalmic pathologies were excluded. The data was processed by Epi.info 7.0 software. We used Odds Ratio (OR) test to find association between amblyopia and risk factor. Confidence interval (CI) was fixed at 95%. Association was significant for a value of p<0,05. Results: 38 cases was found for 76 controls. A significant association was found for amblyopia and personnal history OR:4.85CI[1.87-12.58]p<0,00 ; familial history OR :4,84CI[2,02-11,59]p<0,00 ; for esotropia OR :6,60CI[2,62-16,56]p<0,00 ; for exotropia OR :3,07CI[1,21-7,75]p<0,01 ; for anisometropia OR :26,90CI[5,73-126.16]p<0,00 ; for hyperopia OR:4,16CI[1,69-10,25]p<0,0 and for astigmatism OR :0,22CI[0,08-0,57]p<0,00. Conclusion: Functional amblyopia was associated in children with personal and family history of strabismus and ametropia. Children with esotropia, exotropia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and anisometropia was associated with functional amblyopia. A systematic vision field is necessary for patient with risk factor.
OR:4.85CI[1.87-12.58]p<0 000;OR:4,84 ci [2,02-11,59]p<0;内斜视OR:6,60 ci [2,62-16,56]p<0,00;外斜视OR:3,07 ci [1,21-7,75]p< 0.01;屈光参差OR: 2690 ci [5,73-126.16]p<0;远视OR:4,16 ci [1,69 ~ 10,25]p<0,0,散光OR: 0,22 ci [0,08 ~ 0,57]p<0,00。结论:儿童功能性弱视与斜视和屈光不正的个人和家族史有关。患有内斜视、外斜视、远视、散光和屈光参差的儿童与功能性弱视有关。有危险因素的患者需要系统的视野。

Introduction : Rupture of the Radial Collateral Ligament (RCL) of the index metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint is mostly related to acute local mechanical causes, which severely affect the stability of the MCP joint. Radial collateral ligament (RCL) injuries account for 10-40% of collateral ligament injuries of the thumb metacarpophalangeal joint.ere, we present an extremely rare case of chronic RCL injury. Patient Concern : Pain in the thumb of the right hand accompanied by weakness when trying to grasp something. Complaints are not accompanied by swelling. Patient said 2 years ago had an accident. Thumb at right hand is said to be swollen and shifting. Diagnosis : Based on the combination of physical examination, X-ray, and ultrasonic and magnetic resonance imaging, the patient was diagnosed with Radial Collateral Ligament rupture. Eventually, intra-operative findings confirmed the diagnosis. Intervention : Patient was underwent ligament reconstruction using a Palmaris Longus tendon graft. Conclusion : Favorable results suggest that the free tendon graft using Palmaris Longus is a suitable, safe, and technically feasible procedure for the operative treatment of chronic instability of the thumb metacarpophalangeal joint after radial hyperadduction trauma and complete rupture or deinsertion of the radial collateral ligament.

OCD is a syndrome characterized by obsessions and compulsions, as well as other neuropsychiatric features, and is often associated with primary psychiatric disorders and various neurologic conditions. If severe, OCD can seriously interfere with the patient’s quality of life. The mainstay of treatment is psychotherapy, especially cognitive-behavioural therapy, and pharmacologic interventions, especially selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Unfortunately, a significant proportion of patients are refractory to these treatment modalities. A new understanding abuts the neurobiology of OCD has led to novel investigational treatments, especially neuromodulation techniques.

The medical device has become a decisive device in many instances. As there are more unsafe, the producer should bestow with an ideal medical device in phases of quality & safety. To produce a consistent device universally, there are some standards to be followed. Standards can cover a broad range of business and technology types, including IVDs and medical devices, and software that escort them. Standards are essential to maintain product compliance while synchronizing comparable requirements both nationally and internationally. For medical device industrialists, ISO standards derogatory not only making high-quality medical devices but enduring amenable to regulatory requirements while doing. For medical device companies, adherence to ISO medical device standards can lead to the elaboration of safer and more efficacious products that are more closely allied with user needs. In addition, attaining ISO correspondence certification is a required step in retrieving certain international marketplaces.

Periodontitis is an infectious disease resulting in inflammation the supporting within tissues of the teeth, progressive attachment loss and bone loss-carranza. Some of the etiology and risk factors are Microbial factors, local factors, systemic factors, genetic factors and behaviour factors. Periodontitis can occur at any age, most frequently observe in adults at the age of 30-35years. It involves the degeneration of periodontal ligaments, resorption of alveolar bone resulting in the disruption of the structure of the teeth. In global population nearly 10-15% of people are suffering with severe periodontitis according to WHO. In management of periodontal infection Antibacterial agents are most widely used. Widening of PDL space, generalised loss of alveolar bone are the radiographic feature. Treatment requires more aggressive surgical care. Because of abundant source, lack of toxicity and high tissue compatibility the Biodegradable polymers are extensively employed in periodontal drug delivery devices. In the last decades, the treatment has been optimized for the use of drug delivery systems to the periodontal pocket, with the advantage of delivering the drug in the specific site, sustaining and/or controlling the drug concentration. Recently, the use of new drug delivery systems has been receiving great interest. This review approaches the main delivery systems for the administration of drugs to the periodontal pocket, their usefulness as well as the advancement of these systems effectiveness in the periodontal therapy.

The heart failure remains as global pandemic, more than 23 million people are suffering from heart failure worldwide. The morbidity, mortality and economic burden are increasing rapidly day by day. In order to overcome this situation novel therapies to be developed to treat the heart failure. Many novel therapies accomplished all phases of clinical trials and ruling the pharmaceutical market such as sacubitril valsartan with a positive outcome on heart failure. Some new promising potent compounds such as vericiguat, omecamtiv mecarbil proved themselves by reducing HF complications. In addition, researchers are working very keenly in order to develop to new drug therapies for heart failure. In recent days, many new clinical instances have reported in development of drugs mainly to manage HF patients with mid-range and preserved left ventricular ejection fraction. This article targets to review the Current evolutions in the pharmacological plan of heart failure and focuses on the emerging potential therapeutic agents.

Background: Prescribing of medicines is an integral part of the provision of health care. For effective and safe treatment, it is essential that prescribing and administration of drug should be evaluated from time to time. Prescription errors account for 70% medication errors that could potentially results in adverse drug reactions. Aim and objectives: The purpose of the study to identify errors, major factors which are responsible for the occurrence of medication errors, and to analyse the role of clinical pharmacist in medication errors and to observe the adverse drug reactions. Methodology: A Prospective observational study was conducted in MNR medical College and Hospital, Sangareddy district. The data was collected from the inpatients of General Medicine department by using standard case report form through direct patient interview and collected data was analysed to identify medication errors and adverse drug reactions. Results: 500 prescriptions were analysed, in that 300 prescriptions presented with different types of medication errors. For medication errors the prevalence of females is more than males. Age group between 31-50 showing medication errors. 141 were found to be prescribing errors, 62 administration errors, 69 dispensing errors and 28 monitoring errors. Incidence of dose and strength errors (50.35%), wrong time administration errors (51.61%), wrong drug administration errors (21.73%), monitoring not requested (50%). Prescribing errors were more common in general medicine department. Essential and non-essential drugs, level of severity, were found to be statistically significant (P value <0.05). Conclusion: Clinical pharmacist should act as an effective medical staff by conducting awareness and education programs for nursing staff and other health care professionals regarding detection, reporting and occurrence of medication errors.
