Introduction: Treatment with chemotherapy is the most widely used in almost all types of neoplasms, however, the side effects that it triggers affect the patient's style and quality of life, for this reason the nursing staff must know what their intervention should be with these patients. Objective: To analyze the role played by the nursing staff in patients receiving chemotherapy. Methodology: A study was carried out with a qualitative, descriptive approach, non-experimental design, the databases used included search engines such as Scopus, PubMed, eJournals, Google Scholar and Trip Database, Scielo, Ocronos). A total of 27 articles are included. Results: Nursing care for patients undergoing cytostatic therapy must be comprehensive from a holistic approach. In which it allows to cope with activities that are of the utmost importance for the patient such as reducing the risk of phlebitis and extravasation, controlling nausea and vomiting, informing about side effects. In this way it provides physical, emotional, psychological, and practical support. Conclusion: The nursing role is one of the most essential pillars when providing the care required by cancer patients, allowing maintaining the integrity of the skin, achieving optimal nutritional status, attending to the emotional spheres of the patient, reducing the degree of duration of diarrhoea, correct medication administration and effective communication.

Introduction: Blood pressure is the force that the blood exerts against the walls of the arteries, which is why hypertension or also known as high blood pressure is when this force exerted is too high and it is likely to appear more frequently in the gestation period since pregnancy-induced hypertension is responsible for maternal morbidity and mortality and occurs in 5% to 10.3% of cases. Objective: To identify the process of nursing care in the treatment of hypertension induced by pregnancy. Methodology: A review of some articles published in Pubmed, Scielo, during the years 2019 to 2022 about pregnancy-induced hypertension was carried out. As inclusion criteria, the original and updated articles related to the research topic were taken into account and some articles that did not correspond to the years of antiquity requested at the time of carrying out the research work were excluded. Results: The assessment was made based on the functional patterns of Marjorie Gordon and the Nursing Care Process was applied Conclusions: In the development of this case, activities were developed with the purpose of providing quality care and warmth to each of the patients, improving their stay at the first level of care, since hypertension in the gestation period continues to be an important problem. This is a health problem, so the prognosis and timely treatment of this pathology is essential to take care of the health and well-being of the mother-child pair through control and care by health personnel.

Therapeutic communication is fundamental in the care provided by the nursing staff to the family. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the therapeutic communication between the nurse and the family of the patient in critical care, based on Jean Watson's theory of humanized care. Method: Mixed, cross-sectional, exploratory study, the research population consisted of 13 nurses belonging to the intensive care unit (ICU) and 15 family members of critically ill patients in Puyo county. Results: it could be evidenced that there is a good predisposition on the part of the nursing staff to provide humanized care to the family; however, it is necessary to improve to some extent the quality of communication and emotional support, so that the staff and the family have a unified opinion, which allows raising the satisfaction standards of the users. Conclusions: It was evidenced that therapeutic communication is an important aspect. Since it allows maintaining calm in a complicated process, where the nursing professional should contribute to provide emotional support to the family while providing comprehensive nursing actions to the patient.

The primary caregivers of a cancer patient are essential in the recovery and fight against cancer, which is why there is a high risk that they present deterioration in their physical and mental health due to the innumerable amount of activities focused clearly on the patient that as a consequence put aside self-care to drastically change your daily activities. Objective: To determine coping strategies and quality of life in primary caregivers of cancer patients. Methodology: Corresponds to the quantitative, descriptive, correlational cross-sectional approach to establish the dimension of quality of life in primary caregivers of cancer patients through a descriptive survey of the quality of life test that addresses the physical, emotional, cognitive and social dimensions that influence the daily performance of the primary caregiver. Results: From the application of the Quality of Life Test, it was obtained in the sociodemographic characteristics that women with 58% in an age range of 28 to 37 years are mostly the primary caregivers of cancer patients, in terms of health status. In general, 70% of the caregivers consider themselves to be in good physical and mental condition, however, with the passage of time, considerable deterioration was observed in the caregivers of patients with a longer fight against cancer. Conclusions: Informal caregivers also require medical attention and psychological evaluation because they are the ones who face all the requirements of a cancer patient.

Measuring the quality of nursing care provided by the different hospital institutions allows users to express their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the care received in this service, thus favoring the process of continuous improvement in the quality of care provided to the individual. In order to determine the quality of nursing care in the trauma services of the “IESS Latacunga” and “General Docente Ambato” hospitals, a quantitative, descriptive and transversal study was carried out. For this purpose, the SERVQUAL research instrument was applied to the selected subjects. After the survey, relevant results were obtained indicating that 48.9% of the participants perceive that the nursing professional does not attend punctually to the patient's call for assistance in the required needs, this being their appreciation during the hospital stay, while 20.4% consider that the attention is adequate and timely. Concerning the facilities and technology in the health facilities, 98% of the users surveyed stated that they were acceptable and only 2% expressed disagreement due to the lack of modern equipment. It is concluded that the respondents have an acceptable perception of the quality of nursing care received by the professional nursing staff, however, we would recommend greater emphasis on punctuality when providing care, it is worth mentioning that the demand of hospitalized patients makes it difficult to provide timely patient care. It is necessary, therefore, to implement strategies to improve the level of care in tangible and intangible aspects within the structuring and process of care at the relevant time.

Introduction: Extubation is a critical procedure in the care of neonates requiring mechanical ventilation. The prevention of complications during this process is essential to guarantee favorable results and reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality. Objective: To categorize the nursing experiences in the prevention of complications before the extubation of the newborn. Method: The research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The triangulation of the information was carried out based on the position of the authors, a critical review of the existing literature and the experiences of 8 nurses from an Ecuadorian Public Hospital. Results: Based on the application of the Demaziére D. and Dubar C. methodology and the tabulation of information through data saturation using SPSS, it was possible to determine 3 categories subdivided into 7 subcategories: 3 focused on the identification of risk factors based on experience, 3 related to the establishment of specific care protocols and the improvement of education and training, and 1 aimed at identifying best practices and contributing to scientific progress in this area. Conclusion: Nursing experiences play a crucial role in the prevention of complications during extubation and advocate for the implementation of evidence-based strategies to improve neonatal outcomes.

Introduction: Self-medication is the choice of some drug decides the person so that it can preserve health, prevent and treat the disease, this is given by the variety of drugs that exist worldwide and that are over-the-counter, causing complications or risks for the person who acquires them. Objective: To identify the main factors that influence the practice of self-medication in adolescents. Methods: Method: Quantitative approach, with descriptive scope and cross-sectional design, an instrument composed of 10 questions that addressed three dimensions was used, the reliability of the instrument yielded a Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient with a value of 0.99. A simple random sampling was used for the survey aimed at students of the Technical University of Ambato in the leveling area. Results: The factors associated with self-medication are the lack of time to go to the doctor and the recommendation by pharmacies; the most consumed drugs are analgesics/anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics. Conclusions: Self-medication has become an inadequate practice where easy access for the acquisition of drugs causes the problem to be exacerbated; people are not aware of the damage they can generate in their health in the short, medium, and long term.

This research work analyzes the curricular importance of chemistry in higher education and how the prioritized curriculum of the Ecuadorian baccalaureate, with emphasis on competencies, influences the academic and professional training of students. Desirable and essential skills in chemistry and how they relate to the competencies needed for success in higher education and in the workplace are addressed. Through the review of official documents, previous research and academic publications, the objectives, structure and contents of the prioritized curriculum in Chemistry in the Ecuadorian baccalaureate are examined. In addition, it is discussed how the implementation of this competency-based approach can face challenges and generate academic problems in higher education, such as knowledge gaps, insufficient practical skills and difficulties in critical and analytical thinking. Finally, some strategies and recommendations are proposed to improve the teaching of chemistry in Ecuadorian high school and facilitate the transition to higher education, including the promotion of teacher training, investment in infrastructure and educational resources, and the promotion of collaboration between secondary and higher education institution.

The objective of the research was to identify the tax culture as a determining factor in compliance with the personal income tax of the city of Portoviejo 2021. It was methodologically oriented under a quantitative approach, the design was non-experimental, transectional. The study population in this investigation was made up of managers of the commercial premises of Alajuela street in the Portoviejo canton, which constituted a total of 20 people. For the collection of information, a questionnaire-type survey was prepared, with Likert Scale-type response options. For the statistical treatment of these results, descriptive statistics and quantitative analysis were used, determining the frequencies and percentages. It was found that 50% of the interviewees know most of the times the taxes that they are obliged to comply with as a merchant; 65% of those interviewed rarely or never know the taxes that must be paid to the municipality; In addition, 90% know the destination of the tax and non-tax revenues collected. 80% consider that paying their taxes helps improve the quality of life. 95% of those interviewed consider that it is common to see that people do not pay taxes. 100% consider that tax education can generate a tax culture.
