Industrial noise often has a periodic or quasiperiodic component embedded within the broadband noise. An active noise control system is presented to cancel these harmonics. A combination of generalized phase-locked loop (PLL) and a Filtered-X Least Mean Square (FXLMS) method is used. Large changes in the fundamental frequency can be tracked. Simulations results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique.

The paper presents a MOST-Only, digitally calibrated DAC architecture, based on the R-2R ladder topology. The proposed DAC architecture employs circuitry that enables the fine trimming of each bitpsilas current contribution at the DACpsilas output, thus concluding in a high linear DAC architecture. The architecture of the proposed DAC is discussed in details along with simulation results that confirm its high linearity performance. The proposed DAC topology maintains the conventional ladderpsilas performance in speed and power dissipation without requiring large area for its implementation.

This work deals with the nonlinear behavior of acousto-electric components. Besides the well known surface acoustic wave (SAW) components also bulk acoustic wave (BAW) devices are meanwhile used in the RF front-end of mobile phones. Especially duplexers have to face the challenge of handling high-power Tx signals together with low-power Rx signals. In order to investigate the nonlinear behavior of such devices single resonators are studied in detail first. Increasing the resonator area by means of cascading lowers the power density on the surface and allows for lower input intercept points of second and third order, IIP2 and IIP3. This investigation gives a first proposal about how to improve current available BAW duplexers. In advance SAW and BAW duplexers of various vendors are measured and compared to each other with respect to their IIP2 and IIP3 values for the very first time. These measurements have been performed at the 3GPP Band II frequency band, which has the same frequency allocation (Tx: 1850 - 1910 MHz, Rx: 1930 - 1990 MHz) like the IS-95 system.

In this paper a new type of dual-mode compact resonator for mobile communication systems, in the 900 MHz frequency band, is investigated. This compact planar resonator, developed on a 0.635 mm substrate with a 10.8 dielectric constant, has a square shape with an edge of 20.5 mm. For this dual resonator, several methods of modes coupling were considered. The radiation characteristics of this new resonator were investigated.

The distance calibration of the time of flight camera is a difficult task due to the errors produced by multi reflections of the light inside the camera body and outside. In any room the active light emitted by the camera is reflected by the walls and the objects in the scene. Thus the reflected light by the objects in the scene is the sum of this light and the direct light emitted by the camera. The distance information is affected by this indirect light. The calibration method we propose can be performed not only in laboratory condition but also in any conditions. The distance errors for all objects in the scene can be corrected if white or black tags (labels) are attached on objects.

Quality of transmission is very important in digital communication. The BER (bit error rate) of a PCM encoding method may be varied according to different working condition or different signal source. Theoretically, the BER of encoding method can be estimated mathematically. The BER is generally assumed as a constant value. The BER, however, is not deterministic in real world. In this paper, a Dynamic PCM Selector that can dynamically select an optimal PCM codec module is proposed. The system can dynamically switch to the encoding mode with possible lowest BER, according to the current type of the transmission. By way of this design, it can greatly reduce the overheads of the error correction process.

We have considered the features of voltage and current feedback Op Amps for linear and nonlinear modes under unified conditions. We have obtained the conditions of Op Amp identity for following parameters: performance, bandwidth and unity gain frequency. These obtained conditions update Op Amp maximum ratings as opposed to prevailing notion.
