The purpose of the study was to find out the social construction of the reality of the Badui community against zero percent COVID-19 transmission. The research approach is qualitative with a constructivist paradigm. The research method is descriptive with purposive data collection. The results showed that the Bureaucrats (Local Government Officials) carried out effective externalization-internalization communication management, namely instructions from the central government could be implemented maximally with effective coordination of meaning. Furthermore, the Customary Head carries out legitimacy–socialization communication management, which emphasizes that COVID-19 must be overcome by treating ancestral heritage and following government instructions in interacting. Next, Scholars (Badui Culture Observers) carry out institutionalization-objectivation communication management, namely that the community must obey the rules and customary culture and believe in the Almighty. As for the Volunteers, they carry out socialization communication management, namely providing input and warnings to the local community to maintain the health of their respective families. Other supports are health workers, through health communication and the communication nodes of the Badui community themselves as small circles at the family and community level (internalization).

This paper, which is a narrative analysis, seeks to explore why Korean drama as a form of hallyu cultural product is favoured by the Indonesian people by using the cultural proximity theory from Joseph Straubhaar. According to this theory the audience will prefer products of their own culture or the same as their culture. This research approach is a qualitative research with narrative analysis method. Audiences will prefer the same production because of elements such as star appeal, local knowledge, topics, issues, the environment, and the ethnicity of people in the media. The author discusses five cultural similarities between the two countries, namely the same history, family relationships based on extended family, language and social norms, family lineage and culinary. The results showed that the historical similarities between Korea and Indonesia which had been colonized by Japan, extended family forms in Indonesian and Korean families, respect for parents and manners of behaviour between Indonesians and Koreans and the same food, namely making rice and side dishes as staple foods made Korean dramas liked by the Indonesian people.

The purpose of this study is to trace the growing attractiveness of the Korean Wave to understand the domestic culture of Korea that is becoming a global trend. The study is focused on the factors facilitating the formation of the phenomenon and proves that this trend has become one of the country's main export commodities and a “soft power”, as the promotion of Korean culture is a matter of national importance and pride for Seoul. The Republic of Korea has been absorbing the elements of Western culture and transforming them into a new phenomenon, representing a kind of coexistence and crossbreeding of the Western lifestyle and the traditional Eastern values. The context for the study is the cultural homogenization of the West and the East. Is it a blessing or an evil? What are its challenges and achievements, advantages, and disadvantages? What are the reasons for South Korean cultural expansion? The method utilized in the rerearch is narrative analysis to provide an overview of Korean pop culture that has been able to connect Western and Asian values into something unique.

This study aims to identify and describe the reception of Korean cultural imperialism through traditional games in the Squid Game movie series. This study uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative descriptive approach and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as the data collection method. The subjects studied were 6 informants from followers of the Twitter account @kdrama_menfess who were selected purposively; the study scope was limited to the chosen informants who only come from Javanese culture. Secondary data from this study includes six scenes of traditional games in the Squid Game series and various data sources relevant to the topic of the study. The study used Stuart Hall's analysis theory, which focuses on the encoding-decoding process of the audience. This study found that the audience's attitude in accepting Korean culture was influenced by Korean media consumption activities, fondness for new things from Korea, and social environment. The movie series is an effective medium to create cultural imperialism, but the informants' openness in accepting foreign cultures is a strength for South Korea in building cultural imperialism through series films. So that Korean fans do not feel the impact of Korean cultural imperialism.

Individuals meet and communicate with other individuals in various social contexts every day. They interact and communicate by bringing with them the patterns of thinking, feeling and behavior they have learned during their lives. All forms of communication must have a cultural background, and the differences that exist in the communication process become a major obstacle. This study aims to discover how communication exists amid cultural differences between Indonesia and Australia so that the communication process continues to run well, using Erving Goffman's Dramaturgy theory approach, with the concept of backstage and frontstage. This research is qualitative research using a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation studies. The results of this study indicate that in the preparation stage (backstage), before directly meeting and communicating with Australian families, they used two kinds of information sources: Internet References and Human References. In their daily interactions, in presenting the frontstage, there were two kinds of characters shown by the speakers, namely Westernized Indonesian and Indonesianized-Indonesian.

Freedom from prison for perpetrators of child sexual abuse, who is also a public figure, was warmly welcomed by fans and relatives. The excitement was inseparable from the infotainment coverage that was broadcast through the mass media. On the other hand, sexual violence has physical and psychological consequences that affect the lives of the victims. The presence of infotainment programs also creates debate, especially in the realm of journalism related to ethics. This study attempts to describe the inequality of coverage of Saipul Jamil's freedom from prison as a former inmate who perpetrates sexual violence on the infotainment program Intens Investigasi. This study places the Critical Discourse Analysis developed by Norman Fairclough as an analytical knife. The results of this study indicate that the glorification carried out by infotainment related to freedom from prison, public figures who are perpetrators of sexual violence have a tendency to normalize sexual violence, especially in public figures. Infotainment texts lead to dispensation for public figures who commit sexual violence. Gender literacy, sexual violence, and the media are absolutely necessary, both for media people and the wider community. In addition, a grassroots movement is needed to stop the glorification that leads to the normalization of sexual violence.

In the digital era, some media use YouTube to distribute their content to get new profit opportunities from social media. This study aims to determine the commodification of workers on YouTube KompasTV and determine its impact on the quality of the news. The research uses qualitative methods with a case study approach and data collection is carried out through observation and interviews. The results of this study found that the heavy work done by media workers and the low wages of media workers meant that the practice of commodification continued. Youtube KompasTV is one of the media's efforts to maintain its existence so that the creativity of creator content is proof of the commodification of workers which provides benefits for the media. Regarding the quality of news coverage, this study found that content creators generally only pursue what is the habit of public consumption, so the news that is broadcast is generally only carried out to meet normative quality standards. This study found that KompasTV content creators experience a process of exploitation, alienation, mystification, reification, and normalization.
