This paper investigates the pivotal role of logistics performance in shaping economic growth in selected West African nations. Employing a rigorous fixed effects methodology over the period 2007–2022, the study unveils compelling insights. Logistics performance emerges as a critical driver of economic growth, emphasizing the need for infrastructure investments. Similarly, industrialization and trade openness have significant positive impacts on economic growth, endorsing pro-manufacturing and trade facilitation policies. Surprisingly, inflation exhibits no direct influence on growth, although prudent monetary management remains vital. These findings carry profound policy implications, advocating for holistic strategies to unlock West Africa's economic potential.

The use of digital system has penetrated various levels of society, including the Indonesian Workers (TKI) in Malaysia. This qualitative study is based on community service was conducted in Kampong Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, because it is the centre of activity for TKI communities in Malaysia. Kampong Bahru is an area in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that has high population of Indonesian workers. In this context, waqf contribution optimisation can play an important role in improving TKI welfare livelihood and also helps the development of Sharia-based economy among the TKI community. The awareness about waqf contribution using digital system among Indonesian workers in Malaysia is still low. The Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method was used in the study. The ABCD stages conducted are preparation, seminars, workshops, mentoring, and evaluation. Outcome of this research suggested that there is an increase in the waqf awareness and waqf contribution through digital system and designing a waqf scheme among TKI. The digital waqf system can be accessed through using an online banking system.

The trend toward environmental sustainability is already gaining traction, and it is becoming more common in developed and developing countries. Consumers are becoming more aware of sustainability's importance and making more conscious choices about the products they purchase. The Malaysian Government is also promoting green technology by offering incentives and subsidies to companies producing eco-friendly products, also known as green products. Additionally, the Government is introducing regulations to reduce the carbon footprint of businesses and industries. On the other hand, the Government has signed the SDGs and is struggling to achieve them by 2030. Consumption and production are the primary focus of the 12th Sustainable Development Goal. A limited number of studies have been conducted to investigate the consumers' intentions toward purchasing green products in the Malaysian context, particularly on SDGs. Green products are available in the open markets in Malaysia, but consumers' behaviors and their intentions toward such products are considered low. This study is therefore conducted with the aim to investigate the level of consumers' intention towards purchasing green products. Using a 7-point Likert, 385 valid responses were collected from respondents in Selangor, Perak, and Johor. The study found that Malaysian consumers have a medium level of intentions when it comes to purchasing green products. This could be due to the fact that green products tend to be more expensive than their non-green counterparts, and many people are not willing to pay the extra cost. Also, there could be various factors influencing consumers' intentions to buy green products, which future studies can investigate.

E-hailing is a transportation service that allows passengers to book a ride through a digital platform or mobile application instead of hailing a taxi or car on the street. The services connect passengers with drivers of private vehicles, often through a network of independent contractors. Key companies providing e-hailing services around the world include Grab, Uber, Maxim and others. Many says that e-hailing has disrupted the traditional taxi industry by offering more convenience, pricing transparency, and even offer a higher level of service through driver and vehicle ratings. These services have become an integral part of modern urban transportation, providing an alternative to traditional taxis and public transportation. Providers of e-hailing work hard to keep customers satisfied and loyal to their platforms through a combination of strategies and features designed to enhance the overall customer satisfaction. This study aims to investigate the roles of accessibility, safety, comfortability and price on customers’ satisfaction on e-hailing services, and proposes some suggestions to improve the services. This research espoused a quantitative research methodology by using a survey approach. Data was collected from 108 retail management students of the Faculty of Business and Management, Puncak Alam Campus, Selangor Malaysia. The data were analysed using the Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS). The analyses carried out inclusive of descriptive analysis and cross tabulation analysis. The results show the four variables have roles on students’ satisfaction. This study also determines to provide several solution factors about some e-hailing issues faced by the students. This finding will provide the solutions on how e-hailing needs to improve their services to satisfy students in UiTM Puncak Alam Campus, Selangor Malaysia.

Online banking or Internet banking is a common phenomenon nowadays because of its convenience. Customers can use Internet banking to practically access all the banking services offered, including deposits, transfers, and bill payments. Almost every financial institution offers various types of internet banking, which are accessible via mobile apps. This provides convenience to their consumers. This paper aims to examine the impact of Internet banking services on customer satisfaction in the banking industry. Customer satisfaction is an important factor for maintaining a long-term relationship between a company and its customers. Customer satisfaction has been proven to increase a company’s profitability. However, what contributes to satisfaction needs to be explored further since previous studies are inconclusive in their findings regarding this matter. Most studies on Internet banking studies have investigated various factors including safety and reliability, transaction efficiency, customer support, service security, ease of use, performance, and service content. But, in this study, all these variables will be combined into three types of services, service security, service reliability, and service functionality and the dependent variable is customer satisfaction. The findings of the study confirm that these three factors are important to ensure customer satisfaction in using Internet banking services.

Fuel subsidies play a vital role in mitigating inflation and lowering fuel production expenses, particularly during periods of surging global crude oil prices. The study's objectives involve a comprehensive assessment, mapping research studies to understand current trends, publication impact, research productivity in fuel subsidy studies, and identifying the most influential countries, institutions, and authors in this field. This research conducts a bibliometric analysis of fuel subsidies and their trends, utilizing data and academic literature from the Scopus database retrieved on October 4, 2022, with the keywords "fuel" and "subsidy" in the title string. Examining 168 articles spanning 1978 to 2022, quantitative data analysis employed Microsoft Excel, VOSviewer, and Harzing’s Publish or Perish. Results reveal a rising trend in article publication since 2014, peaking at 23 articles in 2017. The United States (USA), the United Kingdom (UK), and China emerge as the most productive countries in fuel subsidy studies, with the USA playing a crucial role in international collaboration. The most cited paper garnered 164 citations. Future research is encouraged to explore broader areas, linking fuel subsidies with low carbon societies, environmental policy, renewable energy, or the blue economy, given their global significance. The study's findings aim to guide researchers in planning future investigations, offering relevant literature and critical issues to address, ultimately enhancing the quality of knowledge in this domain.

In an era of shifting cultural, economic, and dietary landscapes, the study of food spending habits has become extremely important. There is a lack of comprehensive studies on the financial constraints faced by students and how these limitations impact on their food spending choices. This study examines the underlying factors and determinants that influence the food spending habits of students within the context of higher education. The main objective of this study was to examine the antecedents of students’ food spending habits. A set of questionnaires was distributed to 107 students at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam and analyzed. The result demonstrated that all independent variables (promotional advertisements, personal preferences, and cultural trends) tested in this study have a significant impact on students' food spending habits. Findings from this study would be beneficial to policymakers, businesses in the food industry, and educational institutions in promoting healthier and sustainable food spending habits among students. Hence, it is expected that it can provide valuable insights into various aspects of an individual’s life and the broader economy.

Panic buying is an intriguing social phenomenon during a crisis. However, the existing literature primarily emphasises impulsive purchases and fails to address the objective of panic buying. A minimal study has examined panic buying, integrating variables within an S-O-R framework throughout a crisis. Therefore, this study bridges the existing gaps by examining the variables influencing panic buying behaviour in Malaysia. The quantitative and purposive sampling techniques were used to evaluate Malaysians aged 18 and above who have previously encountered panic buying. A total of 280 questionnaires were collected via distribution to social media platforms. Findings reveal that information overload impacts cyberchondria and perceived severity. Furthermore, price consciousness affects panic buying behaviour. No link is found between perceived severity and cyberchondria towards panic buying behavior. This study theoretically contributes to the literature on the variables influencing panic buying behaviour in Malaysia. This study enhances consumers' decision-making knowledge during a crisis. This study also provides insights to the government in ensuring product stability and business operators to undertake appropriate strategies pre- and post-crisis. Future research should consider the developed countries and different product categories.

A total of 280 questionnaires were collected via distribution to social media platforms. Findings reveal that information overload impacts cyberchondria and perceived severity. Furthermore, price consciousness affects panic buying behaviour. No link is found between perceived severity and cyberchondria towards panic buying behavior. This study theoretically contributes to the literature on the variables influencing panic buying behaviour in Malaysia. This study enhances consumers' decision-making knowledge during a crisis. This study also provides insights to the government in ensuring product stability and business operators to undertake appropriate strategies pre- and post-crisis. Future research should consider the developed countries and different product categories.","PeriodicalId":258234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of International Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship","volume":" 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138609766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
