Organizations are increasingly involved in the struggle of what is often known as an 'ethical dilemma', a condition that requires a clear definition of right and wrong actions caused by lines or boundaries that are increasingly blurred than before. Indeed, leadership and management are human activities as the art and skill of utilizing productive resources to achieve desired goals. Furthermore, it becomes clear, one of the factors that influence the formation of the moral character of employees is the role of spirituality in the work environment and the humility of leaders. The purpose of this research is to explore the relationship between Islamic leadership and high morale in the workplace. In relevant conditions, the role of a leader is as the person who leads and the person who manages to translate the vision, direction, and plans into effective actions for the progress of the organization. Thus, the role of the leader is key to shaping and developing organizational culture. This study is a theoretical development to form the basis for empirical studies of leadership models. This study indicated that Islamic values have a significant effect to boost high morale in the workplace. The role of the leadership needs to be empowered in order to build workers' awareness of the importance of Islamic values as a principle of life. Thus, this study expands the literature in the field of leadership styles that explores Islamic values in increasing morale in the workplace.

Family businesses, the backbone of the global economy, thrive on family elements (familiness). However, there is a lack of understanding of the concept of familiness, on which this study aimed to conduct a literature review. This narrative review study employed a scoping searching technique to identify and select articles related to familiness. In total, 36 articles were included for review and analysis. The study generated three emergent themes: i) definitions of familiness; ii) roles of familiness; and iii) factors that promote familiness. This narrative literature review extends the body of knowledge related to family businesses, particularly by outlining how familiness plays a predominantly positive role in influencing organisational outcomes. Furthermore, familiness may be the antecedent, mediator, and moderator of organisational outcomes, which potentially paves the way for establishing familiness as a potential source from which to generate resources for family businesses. The study also identified research gaps and provides some directions for future research.

Entrepreneurship is critical in all countries, including Malaysia, in order to contribute to economic growth, job creation, and technological advancements. As a result, entrepreneurship studies are critically a phenomenon among scholars as it is considered as one of the strategies to boost the economy and enhance job creation. However, environmental factors are always vulnerable and empirically significant in influencing human behaviour. Therefore, this study aims to determine the impact of environmental factors on the entrepreneurial intention among hotel and tourism management students in UiTM Malaysia. The study investigated the impact of environment factors that focused on students’ opportunity recognition and social worthiness on entrepreneurial intention among UiTM hospitality students. A cross-sectional research design was used, with a quantitative questionnaire approach. To select 217 participants, the study used probability sampling with a simple random sample technique. The model was tested using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0. The data was then analysed using a multiple regression analysis technique. According to the findings of the study, opportunity recognition and social worthiness are significantly related to entrepreneurial intention among UiTM hospitality students.

Supply-side fiscal policy holds that the growth of the country is stimulated through fiscal expansion designed to foster increased production. Subsidies given by the government to producers save many essential industries from higher cost of production thus encouraging them to increase supply of goods and services. On the other hand, subsidies provided to the public have benefitted them from paying higher prices for consumer products thus enhancing their welfare. However, these subsidies and incentives may promote overproduction and encourage overconsumption since cost of production becomes much cheaper after being subsidized. This has consequences on the consumer environmental awareness (CEA) as excessive use of certain products e.g. fuel, may result in environmental pollution. Using a systematic literature review, we explore subsidy and environmental awareness among consumers. We focus on environmental awareness as an interesting issue to bring forward in this research and our study contributes to the existing literature. The results of our study imply that the provision of subsidies on fuels resulted in excessive use of self-transport which has an impact on climate change. However, in other cases, green subsidies do benefit society in general. High environmental awareness can be decisive in influencing green purchasing behaviour, resulting in high demand for green products.

The website for a traditional travel agency is important as it is assumed that customers make purchases through a travel agency website, they trust for their tourism products and services. A pleasant website design may lead the online customers to continue to be loyal. This leads to the purpose of this study which is to understand further the relationship between website design on the customers’ e-loyalty. An online survey was completed by 87 Malaysians who have made travel-related purchases on any traditional travel agency website in Malaysia. Analyses of reliability and descriptive analysis were performed on all scales. Testing research hypotheses was done using regression analysis. Results showed that website design and its factors were positively related to customers' e-loyalty. Information design, navigation design, and visual design were these predictors' order of significance in relation to each other. Information design was found to have the strongest relation whereas visual design was found to have the least relation towards customers’ e-loyalty to the traditional travel agency website. The findings of this study prove that it is crucial to assist the traditional travel agencies to improve their website design in order to achieve the desired outcome for the agency

Government agencies/public sectors organizations around the world are under pressure to increase the effectiveness of their products and services with limited resource. This study attempts to develop a conceptual framework on the relationship between excellent human resource through organizational policies and service quality by the public sector. The study aims to verify the root of the problem of the service provided by government agencies/public sector as the main issue. Indeed, excellent human resource is the key for the answer on this issue. There is a need for the excellent human resource that has strong and stable characters to work under pressure in serving various demands of the society. However, it is clear that policy of organization determines, the quality of work in order to produce excellent human resource. When policies do not support workers in performing activities effectively, it will hinder workers to produce the best service. Most studies on quality of services are carried out in the context of private sector. Subsequently, this study presents foundation to overcome the problems faced by government agencies/public sector in order to provide the best service to the society. Government needs to pay attention on the integration between human resources and the work system. Human resources have a humanistic aspect that holds the key to the success of the public sector. A good handling the humanitarian aspect will encourage the improvement of the best service to the society.

Malay Reserve Land (MRL) in Malaysia has a great potential to be developed successfully. However, the development is still lagging behind due to financial constraints. Currently, there are no specific funds provided to assist Bumiputera developers or owners to develop MRL comprehensively. Thus, the establishment of special financial institutions can drive the development of MRL. However, the special financial institutions need to fulfill certain criteria to ensure the continuation of sustainable and competitive development. This research aims to explore the success factors of special financial institutions for MRL development. Data were collected through questionnaires survey from ninety-one respondents with expertise in MRL development. The data were analysed using SmatPLS 3 software for Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess the significant value of the items studied. The results highlighted four aspects namely i) financial sources, ii) financial policies and procedures, iii) government support and iv) Islamic financial structure as significant success factors in the establishment of special financial institutions for development of MRL.

The emergence of the digital economy has the potential to spur innovation, boost productivity, and improve societal quality of life. The increase in ICT users in Malaysia can be seen during the Covid-19 crisis. Due to social restrictions on economic activities, many businesses have shifted to online platforms. However, it differs from small-medium enterprises (SMEs) owned by vulnerable populations. Their businesses were underperforming during the Covid-19 crisis as they could not deal with the operational stress generated by Covid-19 due to limited resources, resulting in poor company performance. Therefore, a conceptual model has been identified in this project on the factors that can lead SMEs to successfully innovate the processes of ICT in their businesses.

Port performance is an important gateway to countries and business entities. This study aims to explore the importance of logistics variables towards port performance measurement. A standard method used to measure port performance is the analysis of its inputs and outputs based on port characteristics, such as length of berth, number of cranes, and depth. Indubitably, these approaches are among the most practical used by scholars to measure port performance. However, other external factors, such as logistical variables, need special attention, as they have been discussed in previous studies as having the capability to influence the measurement of a port's performance. As such, this study measures the technical efficiency of 57 ports, ranked among the most efficient ports globally, via a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and uses sensitivity analysis to measure the impact logistics variables have on the measurement of performance. For robustness checking, the Robust Fixed Effects tool was applied to measure the impact of the logistics variables on port technical efficiency. The results show that logistics variables significantly impact the technical efficiency measurements of ports.

The intergenerational conflict over public education allocation has remained to be a subject of contentious debate. As such, this study aimed to examine the impact of the elderly population and young population growth that could potentially affect educational spending within the context of Malaysia. This study will employ the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method to determine the intergenerational conflict on public education expenditure in Malaysia. The empirical finding from this study demonstrated the significant influence of both the elderly and young population on public education spending. Any increase in the young population was followed by a proportional increase in education expenditure. Meanwhile, the increase in the elderly population does not appear to reduce public education spending. This implied that there is intergenerational conflict which would put pressure on public education spending. The changes in population structure could bring implications as to how the public expenditure will be allocated. The evidence from this paper will further provide useful insight and policy recommendations to policymakers on how to improve education financing in the future.
