Enhanced gain, low voltage, rail-to-rail buffer amplifier suitable for energy harvesting 增益增强,低电压,轨对轨缓冲放大器适合能量收集

A CMOS subthreshold rail-to-rail input-output buffer amplifier suitable for energy harvesting applications is presented, having high gain (AV) of ∼ 130dB, consuming ultra low currents (IDD) of ∼ 150nA, and operating with low power supply voltage (VDD) > ∼ 0.8v. Contributions of this work are the synthesis of the following attributes: First, using a single transistor, the amplifier input stage's tail current is steered between the two PMOSFET input pairs, while one of the PMOSFET pairs is level shifted by a pair of NMOSFET source followers, which keeps the amplifier's input stage transconductance (gm) roughly constant while the inputs span rail-to-rail. Second, to boost folded cascode transconductance amplifier's (FCTA) AV, the proposed plurality of regulated cascode (RGC) current mirrors (CM) utilize a small size auxiliary amplifier, containing the same type and un-scaled FETs as that of the cascoded CMs employed within the FCTA. As such, the boosting of AV is less impeded by the otherwise higher impedance and high capacitance associated with scaled FETs, utilized in most prior art, in the RGC's auxiliary amplifier's signal path. Moreover, the RGC-CM utilizing the same FET, as that of the FCTA's CM, provides more consistency in FCTA's DC, AC, and dynamic response over process and operating condition variations. Third, a buffer driver containing a Minimum Current Selector (MCS) and an inverting current mirror amplifier (ICMA) controls the quiescent current of the inactive output transistors (FETs), while a complementary noninverting current mirror (CNICM) curbs the current waste attributed to monitoring the FET's (external load) currents. The output buffer driver is inherently fast and can work at low VDD, since it operates mainly in current mode. Montecarlo (MC) and worst case (WC) simulations indicate the following specifications are achievable: input voltage range rail to rail; output voltage range ∼ 10mV from the rails; resistive load (RL) 5K ohms capability; unity gain frequency (fu) ∼ 200KHz and phase margin (PM) ∼ 40 degrees; power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) ∼ −90dB; common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) ∼ −110dB; slew rate (SR) ∼ 3V/ 10uS; settling time (ts) ∼ 15uS; size ∼130um/side.

On the use of multi-class support vector machines for classification of seismic signals at Cotopaxi volcano 多类支持向量机在科托帕希火山地震信号分类中的应用

This paper presents an automatic system based on machine learning algorithms for recognition of seismo-volcanic signals, such as long-period events and volcano-tectonic earthquakes, as well as signals of non-volcanic origin, like lightnings and background noise (BN). The approach is divided into two stages. A detection stage based on a decision tree algorithm, and a classification stage using Support Vector Machine in its multi-class mode. For the last, the kernel function, methods for hyperplane separability, and trade-off factor C, were evaluated. A database of seismic records collected by a seismic network deployed at Cotopaxi volcano, Ecuador, was used for testing. The approach considers the energy of the coefficients given by the wavelet transform as main features in order to distinguish events in volcanic seismograms. The detection stage was able to identify events from BN with 98% accuracy, meanwhile the classification stage reached 90% of accuracy. The optimal parameters that maximize the performance classification were the linear kernel, with a trade-off from 10 to 80, and Sequential Minimal Optimization.

In this article a long-term frequency stability analysis of a multi-machine system after a critic event is developed. Firstly, the variations of the pressures in the boiler is considered and its influence over the electrical system dynamic, as well as the turbine's operational limits due to fatigue for resonant frequencies. Secondly, to reduce the frequency deviations, we use and contrast two technics, the fast valving, and the load shedding.

Comparison of methods for calculating generation offers in the Mexican wholesale electricity market 墨西哥电力批发市场发电报价计算方法的比较

Electricity markets have varying rules regarding bid formats. Many of them uses piecewise linear (PWL) approximation of generating units' quadratic cost curves. This paper presents a comparative study of two PWL methods with the Mexican Electricity Market approach on market outcomes under different scenarios. Numerical test results show that the format of PWL bids approximation yield different dispatch results.

Identification of the morphological defects present in the pattern of spermatozoa using a reconfigurable device 使用可重构装置识别存在于精子模式中的形态缺陷

The term “pattern recognition” encompasses a wide range of information processing problems of great practical significance, from speech recognition to medical diagnosis. This paper presents the idea of identification of morphologically defective sperm using pattern recognition and a neural network. Research into determining the infertility rate of sperm is under constant development. First, an important phase in sperm infertility observation is spermatozoon detection. Keeping this in mind, this paper focuses on how to detect the spermatozoon image using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). For this, “Img capture” software and Visual Studio were employed. Later, Matlab was used to binarize the images and find coordinate points. The Final step was to implement the design using a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGAs). The Moore-Neighbor algorithm was chosen to trace the edges of the images. Finally, results were obtained from Matlab, showing the image matching percentage per form. This aids in the successful extraction of the spermatozoon shape.

Impact of clock drifts on active power sharing and frequency regulation in distributed-averaging secondary control for islanded microgrids 孤岛微电网分布式平均二次控制中时钟漂移对有功功率分配和频率调节的影响

In islanded microgrids (MGs), voltage source inverters (VSIs) can be coupled in parallel to share active power while keeping the frequency at a nominal value. To this end, a hierarchical control framework includes a primary level, commonly based on the droop method, and a secondary level in which several integral policies stand out, among them is the “distributed-averaging” approach. The latter is a policy inspired by cooperative control techniques that has been applied with satisfactory results. In spite of rich literature in distributed averaging, there is no analysis of the impact of clock drifts on its performance. This paper provides an analysis concerning the effect that local clock-drifts have in the operation of VSIs in islanded MGs when the distributed-averaging policy is implemented in conjunction with the droop method. Specifically, the expressions modeled allow to quantify the steady-state values of frequency and active power when the VSIs are subjected to clock drifts. Select simulations have been developed considering a low-scale MG in order to corroborate the theoretical results which show that the clock drifts favor the occurrence of frequency deviations and power sharing errors. These results show several coincidences with those obtained in analogous analyzes performed with other state-of-the-art secondary control methods.

To this end, a hierarchical control framework includes a primary level, commonly based on the droop method, and a secondary level in which several integral policies stand out, among them is the “distributed-averaging” approach. The latter is a policy inspired by cooperative control techniques that has been applied with satisfactory results. In spite of rich literature in distributed averaging, there is no analysis of the impact of clock drifts on its performance. This paper provides an analysis concerning the effect that local clock-drifts have in the operation of VSIs in islanded MGs when the distributed-averaging policy is implemented in conjunction with the droop method. Specifically, the expressions modeled allow to quantify the steady-state values of frequency and active power when the VSIs are subjected to clock drifts. Select simulations have been developed considering a low-scale MG in order to corroborate the theoretical results which show that the clock drifts favor the occurrence of frequency deviations and power sharing errors. Fault detection and diagnosis of complex engineering systems based on a NNARX multi model applied to a fossil fuel electric power plant 基于NNARX多模型的复杂工程系统故障检测与诊断应用于某火电厂

In this paper, we present a Fault Detection and Diagnostic method for complex engineering systems and its application to a Fossil Fuel Electric Power Plant. It is a model-based approach with a multi-variable generation of residuals of the main fault situations, organized in a characteristic matrix of fault signatures, which establishes a reference pattern to continuously evaluate the residuals generated on-line in normal operation conditions. Residuals are calculated as the difference between the measured dynamics of the plant and a reference given by a simulated multi NNARX model presented in a companion paper. In our proposal, false detections are reduced by the introduction of hierarchic memories that filter spurious faults and threats compensated by the internal loops of control. The system identifies the kind of fault and the severity of the abnormal behavior in a four level scale, from threats to imminent faults. We describe the main procedures of the method and we illustrate them with examples obtained using data of the Steam Generation and Reheating/Super-heating Subsystem from the Electric Power Plant. We also present some results of the real time application implemented in a co-simulation architecture using a high performance simulator under the main faults situations of a Steam Generator sub-system.

Electromagnetic finite element analysis of electrical steels combinations in lamination core steps of single-phase distribution transformers 单相配电变压器层压铁芯台阶电工钢组合的电磁有限元分析

This paper presents an electromagnetic finite element (FE) analysis of combinations of electrical steels in the lamination core steps of a real 6.3 MVA single-phase distribution transformer. The magnetic core of this transformer has a cruciform cross-section with lamination core steps. Two electrical steels are combined in the lamination core steps of transformer: a convectional grain oriented electrical steel (M-5) and laser-scribed electrical steel (23ZDKH90). 3-D FE simulations are performed to calculate the core losses (no-load losses) without and with combinations of electrical steels. B-H curves and iron loss curves of electrical steels are taken into account in the numerical simulations. The core loss calculated in FE simulation without combination of steels is compared with the core loss measured in no-load laboratory tests. Numerical results show that the combination of electrical steels in the lamination core steps can reduce 5% the core losses in single-phase distribution transformers with stacked magnetic cores. Finally, material costs are estimated for the steel combinations in the magnetic core of transformer.

Electronic transformer based on DAB converter for smart park 基于DAB变换器的智能园区电子变压器

This paper presents the electronic structure of an Electronic Transformer based on DAB converter. The focus of the electronic structure is to taking advantage of the characteristics of the DAB converters and use them to increase the capabilities of a Smart Park. Initially, the definition of the term smart park concept used in Smart Grid focused on the V2G connection of EVs is presented and later a review is presented of the electronic structures used in several references that are proposed for the charging and discharging of batteries in PEVs using in the Smart Parks. Finally the proposal of the DAB converter is presented.
