Teaching English Vocabulary Featuring Ideological and Political Elements Based on Production-oriented Approach in China's Colleges 基于生产导向的高校思想政治词汇教学

To enhance college students’ vocabulary competence, a blended teaching (via both online and offline methods) of English affixation featuring ideological and political elements via Production-oriented Approach is designed and practiced. Some insights are given into teaching affixation by combing input learning with output application, and taking language output as the learning goal as well as driving means. The teacher's vocabulary teaching design and practice could be developed and improved from a distinctive perspective.

Reflection on Design and Evaluation Process for a Hybrid Computer Graphics Course: A Study on Design A Highly Integrated Art and Science Course 对混合计算机图形学课程设计与评价过程的思考——艺术与科学高度融合的课程设计研究

This paper critically reflected on the learning design and evaluation process through a course design and mock validation. In the study, a couple of critical factors and theories in terms of learning design and evaluation process have been introduced as theoretical backgrounds underpinning a group's product in practice. This report has discussed an in-depth course design process, including course rationale, learning outcomes, and technology-enhancing learning concepts. In addition, several critical reflections about course validation decisions have also been discussed.

Exploration of Problem-based Learning at Inter-course Level 基于问题的跨课程学习探索

Under the background of globalization and technology competition in the new era, aiming at the problem of traditional teaching interaction, this paper puts forward the idea of problem-based learning (PBL) teaching for environmental science majors. Compared with the traditional teaching method, the PBL model has advantages in improving students' self-learning ability, cooperation and communication ability, professional ability, being familiar with academic writing norms, and training critical thinking ability. Compared with the single-course PBL, the inter-course PBL model emphasizes the importance of systematic integration of professional knowledge when solving practical problems, and promotes teachers' extensive communication and cooperation.

Exploration of Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Based on Constructivist Learning Theory 基于建构主义学习理论的虚拟仿真实验教学探索

The current advanced wireless communication technology has brought new development opportunities for many industries, and practical teaching is an important way to cultivate high-quality communication professionals. Virtual simulation provides students with a good way to master the working principles of the entire wireless communication network. Based on virtual simulation platform, the course team has carried out reform and exploration of experimental teaching, and designed the experimental goal of the entire wireless communication network. Based on the constructivist learning theory, practicing the "four factors" in the teaching. The teaching survey data show that the methods used not only stimulate students' enthusiasm for the experimental courses of wireless communication networks, but also help cultivate students' versatility.

From Motivation Components to Academic Achievement Prediction 从动机成分到学业成就预测

This research aims to determine the relationship among the mental and motivation components include self-efficacy (SE), the self-regulation learning (SRL), the intrinsic motivation and the use of cognitive strategies, and test anxiety, as well as their effects on academic performance in the blended-learning environments during the COVID-19 pandemic. By studying the academic achievement and motivation components of 392 Accounting major Sophomores and Juniors, reducing test anxiety and improving self-efficacy were revealed to be the important methods toward success. Also, the use of self-regulation and cognitive strategies as the intermediary variables could have impact on the academic performance. Through the empirical study and a review of academic motivation and academic performance literature before and after COVID-19, this research proposed 4E (Effort, Enthusiasm, Expectation, and Easiness) as the predictive framework and key motivation factors for potential intelligent tutoring systems and adaptive learning systems on the early academic warning and intervention of students’ academic progress.

The Resource Allocation between Teachers' Attitudes and Information Communication Technology Competence: A Configuration Approach 教师态度与信息传播技术能力之间的资源配置:一种配置方法

Deploying appropriate information technology (IT) competency in a manner that fits the teachers' attitudes regarding school induces teaching efficiency. The application and perspective of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching by teachers determine the end and promotion of IT. However, our understanding of how to empirically conceptualize and assess teaching efficiency of the fit remains limited. Therefore, this study adopts resource orchestration theory and appropriate literature evaluation methods to conceptualize and operationalize "fit" from the perspective of resource configuration. According to the ICT in Education Technical Report, each 100 ISCED schools in 31 countries are surveyed to provide an empirical study on the relationship and quality between ICT competence and teachers’ attitudes level on the overall teaching efficiency. In particular, the use of fit as a “moderation” approach suggests that ICT can strengthen the relationship between teachers’ attitudes and teaching efficiency. Fit as a “profile deviation” method further reveals that teachers whose ICT competence configurations are similar to those of the top performers in the high-level teachers’ attitude group have higher teaching efficiency. The theoretical contributions and managerial implications of the study are discussed.

Effects of three types of mind maps on middle school vocabulary learning 三种思维导图对中学词汇学习的影响

In this study, we applied Xmind, a mind map tool to compare the instructional effects of three types of mind maps on English vocabulary learning: root-based, synonym/antonym-based, and situation-based mind maps. An experiment was conducted with 69 8th grade students from a middle school located in Hubei province, and the results indicate that the difference in mind map types tended to have insignificant impact on immediate vocabulary recall while the situation-based mind map can significantly promote the long-term retention of English vocabulary. Additionally, students’ initial English level had a moderating effect, with average students benefiting most from the usage of mind maps. The study results can inform the selection and implementation of the mind map tool for second language acquisition.

Employment Trends and Forecast (2017-2021) for Engineering Students in a Double Degree Joint Programme 联合双学位工程专业学生就业趋势与预测(2017-2021

This study reports on the employment data between 2017 and 2021 for the engineering students in a double degree joint programme between a university in Beijing and a university in London. The purpose was to use regression analysis to forecast the employment outcomes of the joint programme graduates for 2021. Data were collected from five cohorts of students from 2017 to 2021. The researcher found that although there had been an increase in employment rate before 2020, the year 2020 was the watershed where the employment rate went down both in work and in postgraduate education. The impact of COVID-19 might be the major reason for such a decrease. Data analysis also shows that other factors influencing employment results include place of origin and countries (overseas graduate schools). Furthermore, the regression analysis model forecasts the employment rate for 2021 graduates.

Innovating the Online Writing Center: A Theoretical and Practical Analysis from POA Perspective 创新网络写作中心:POA视角下的理论与实践分析

The present study attempts to construct a college Online English Writing Center teaching model suitable from the perspective of Production-oriented Approach (POA) in the EFL context as well as exploring users’ attitudes towards it via questionnaires and interviews after the implementation of the “POA+OWC” model in one academic term. Data indicated that most learners had positive attitude towards the new model since it could facilitate their intrinsic motivation to English writing and their writing competence, especially advancing their word choice, enriching supporting ideas as well as improving their logic. Also, most learners’ critical and creative thinking as well as team spirit were improved. However, for several introverted users, interactive environment seemed to be ineffective and teachers are supposed to attached more attention. This study could contribute to scaffolding L2 writing teaching efficiency as well as enhancing students’ writing competence.

On the Construction Path of Digital Teaching Resource Database under the Background of “Classroom Revolution” 论“课堂革命”背景下数字化教学资源库的建设路径

Aiming at the contemporary problems in the construction and application of digital teaching resources in colleges and universities, this paper deeply analyzes the main reasons. Focusing on aims to improve the classroom teaching effect, this paper forms the framework of the “classroom revolution”, which puts forward the practical designs of promoting the construction of resource database with performance evaluation. The solution presents the specific path of the construction of digital teaching resource database, urges students to “return to the acquisition of basic knowledge”, teachers “return to their duties” and improve the quality of talent cultivation.
针对当前高校数字化教学资源建设与应用中存在的问题,深入分析了主要原因。本文围绕提高课堂教学效果的目标,形成了“课堂革命”的框架,提出了以绩效评价推动资源库建设的实践设计。该方案提出了数字化教学资源库建设的具体路径,促使学生“回归基础知识获取”,教师“回归本职工作”,提高人才培养质量。
