Change of waterhammer and surge with time is considered as a stochastic process. Then the purpose, present status and progress of stochastic analysis of waterhammer and surge in pumped storage plant are summarized. Stochastic analysis methods are introduced, including modeling and solving. Finally, some suggestions are presented for stochastic analysis.

Wavelet is basically a filtering technique based on digital signal processing which have been widely applied in image processing. Recently, wavelet has been applied as a pre-processing element as they are good in analyzing signals. In this study, we have tested the wavelet filtering technique in temperature time series prediction for Batu Pahat region, ranging from 2005 - 2009. In this work, we proposed a new model which makes use the wavelet technique to pre-process the time series data before feeding to the MLP, and it is called a wavelet multilayer perceptron (W-MLP). The performance of the W-MLP is compared to Multi layer perceptron (MLP), Low-pass filter (LP), High-pass (HP) filter and Band-pass (BP) filter. Simulation results on the prediction of temperature time series show that W-MLP performs considerably better results when compared to other four filtering techniques in terms of the prediction error and epochs.

This paper studies a new form for discrete network design problem. The new model is different form the traditional bi-level programming model. In the new model, not only expanding the capacity of the existing congested links or adding new links to the network is to considered, but also the levels of links improvement is considered. The upper model is a traditional mathematics optimization problem, while the lower is a user equilibrium condition stated by variational inequality (VI). Then an algorithm of the model is proposed, numerical experiments indicate that the proposed algorithm is effective in practice and has the potential for solving larger network design problems.

Multi-sensor data fusion is a technology to enable combining information from several sources in order to form a unified picture. Focusing on the indirect method, an attempt was made to build up a multi-sensor data fusion system to monitor the condition of grinding wheels with force signals and the acoustic emission (AE) signals. An artificial immune algorithm based multi-signals processing method was presented in this paper. The intelligent monitoring system is capable of incremental supervised learning of grinding conditions and quickly pattern recognition, and can continually improve the monitoring precision. The experiment indicates that the accuracy of condition identification is about 87%, and able to meet the industrial need on the whole.

By applying the theory of planar dynamical systems, we investigate the existence of bell and anti-bell solitary wave solutions, kink and anti-kink solitary wave solutions, periodic wave solutions to the Rangwala-Rao equation. With the undetermined coefficient method, we obtain the representations to three exact explicit solitary wave solutions.

In this paper, first we redefine a asymmetry indicator of fuzzy relations. Meanwhile, we present the degree description of a condition proposed by Peng et al. Then we mainly investigate the relationships between some transitivity-related indicators, particularly between those of T-transitivity, negative S-transitivity, T-S-semitransitivity and T-S-Ferrers property. With our research, some work done by Fodor and Peng et al. are extended to the degree description.

Web services are self-describing, open components that support rapid, low-cost composition of distributed applications. They are being considered as the best choice of industry to provide solution for multiple clients scattered in heterogeneous environment. However, change in the business requirements result in multiple versions of Web services. Maintaining variety of versions is difficult especially for organizations, with established products and a large customer base. The problem aggregates even more when a product requires customization for its clients with minor differences in each version. This forces to deploy multiple Web services for each one of them. This work presents WSDL-Temporal, an extension of WSDL to handle issues related to change management in Web Service. The approach allows maintaining multiple versions of interfaces/operations/elements within a single Web service that can be accessed by clients. The paper extends the case study of W3C specification of WSDL to present WSDL-Temporal approach of change management. Not only does WSDL-Temporal handle changes but is also capable of handling both backward compatible and incompatible changes. Another advantage of using a single WSDL-T service for service producers is that they can now push required changes to the production environment more frequently and need not to accumulate a set of changes for next release. It also enables the service providers to deprecate or retire services in a graceful manner.

In this paper, a blind robust watermark approach for authentication 2D Map based on random table and polar coordinates mapping is presented. Firstly, All vertices will mapped into polar coordinate system. Then, the watermark is embedded using the random table of the decimal valued of the polar coordinates through the digit substitution of the decimal part. Theoretical analysis and excremental results shows that the presented approach is robust against a various attacks such as rotation, scaling and translation and also good imperceptibility.

The current cultivation of the Free Normal Students' educational technology ability is based on the short-time formal courses, not formed a long-time cultivation mechanism. This paper will introduce informal learning theory into the cultivation process, trying to change the existed drawback of the cultivation of education technology ability. This paper analyzed the advantage of the informal learning used to improve the free normal students' educational technology ability, and constructed a educational technology ability improvement model based on informal learning theory, designed two kinds of informal learning modes: the individual informal learning and group informal learning. This paper finally put forward the specific implementation of relevant strategies.

The usability of information systems, known as Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and Picture Archiving and Communication System, for electronic medical records has shown a good impact for actors in the hospital. The objective is to help and make their work easier; such as for a physician to access the patient's data, for a nurse or administration staff to record the medical records of the patient, and for a patient to check their bill transparently. However, several limitations still exists on such area regarding the type of data being stored in the system, ability for data transfer, storage and protocols to support communication between medical devices and digital images. This paper reports the simulation result of integrating several systems to cope with those limitations by using the DICOM standard. The result was not significantly succeeded in the context of DICOM implementation. However we succeed in documenting the reason of that failure so future research will gain better understanding and able to integrate those systems.
