A physical model dealing with the laser-matter interaction is developed. The model is then adopted as the core of an algorithm that is coded to automatically control a laser annealing system. Doped impurities can be activated during the laser annealing process. In such a process, the total energy that is deposited onto surface of a semiconductor wafer must be carefully controlled, because less laser energy may not efficiently activates the impurities, or more laser energy may melt and destroy the wafer (surface). Given the ratio of activated to total impurities, desired laser dose can be calculated by using our model. Known the laser power, scan speed of the wafer stage can be precisely determined so as to meet the process requirement on the laser dose. One distinct property of our model is: non-heat factors such as the photon absorption are regarded as more critical, whereas in other models, the heat effects are emphasized.

Based on the UniTire model in low frequency and the characters of tire vibration in high frequency, an in-plane dynamic tire model is built, which is appropriate for studying on the advanced chassis control. The theory and procedure of modeling are introduced. The parameters of the model are received from the identification of test data. The model is validated by tire dynamic test data, which is got by the tire passing through the classic uneven road at various speeds.

GaMnN dilute magnetic semiconductor samples, prepared by Mn-ion implanted into unintentionally doped GaN epilayers, exhibit room temperature ferromagnetism. The electronic structure of Mn doped GaN was calculated by using first-principles plane-wave ultrasoft pseudopotential approach based on density functional theory. The results show that the spin-up impurity band is formed and broadened to cross Fermi level due to the hybridization of Mn-3d with N-2p orbits. From experimental and theoretical results, it is believed that Ferromagnetism can be observed if the EF is located within or near the Mn impurity band so that there are enough holes in this band to mediate the ferromagnetic properties.

Biodiesel fuel is a non-fossil fuel and an important renewable fuel. It can be obtained from vegetable oil or animal fats, and has recently been suggested as an alternative fuel for immediate utilization as a surrogate for petroleum-based fuels. The combustion of biodiesel fuel or blended with diesel fuel in compression ignition (CI) engines is general results in lower smoke, PM, CO and HC emissions compared to standard diesel fuel, while NOx emission is greater in different extent. Flame temperature of biodiesel fuel combustion plays a very important role on the formation of NOx emission, which is described by Zeldovich mechanism. Thus, studying temperature profile during biodiesel combustion can provide useful insights to the formation and destruction of NOx. The main objective of this work is to investigate the effect of blending biodiesel fuel with diesel fuel on open air flames temperature. The experiments were carried out by thermocouple measurements of local flame temperatures of wick-generated open air flames. The relationships between blend proportions and flame temperature of different layers, number and distribution of high temperature points, relative and mean flame temperature, adiabatic flame temperature, rate of fuel combustion were obtained. In general, it was found that along with the proportions of biodiesel fuel in the blends increases, temperature of outer flame, numbers of high temperature points and their corresponding area, relative and mean flame temperature, adiabatic flame temperature are all increased, while adiabatic flame temperature is decreased. The main reasons are due to higher oxygen content and lower calorific value of biodiesel fuel.

The synchronizing time directly relates to the transmission shifting performance. The simplified model of process was established according to the actual conditions. Then it analyses the synchronizing time in different conditions for the same shifting force. And then it also analyses the shift handle force in a given synchronizing time in different conditions. On that basis, it presents the effective method to improve shifting time and reduce synchronizing time. This can be used to optimum design.

The principle of energy-saving in hydraulic hybrid vehicles was introduced. The characteristics of hybrid vehicles with electric or hydraulic were compared. Because of its higher power density and higher efficiency, hydraulic hybrid vehicle is more advantageous when working under the condition changed frequently such as city bus. Different arrangement forms of the hydraulic hybrid system were analyzed to explore their own characteristics and applications. Based on the batteries with high energy density and hydraulic accumulators with high power density, a kind of combination that include their respective advantage were proposed.

In order to improve the tracking performance of SOTM, an improved step tracking algorithm based on finite difference stochastic approximation was proposed by employing the idea of parameter optimization after analyzing the system characteristics of SOTM. The main idea for this improved step tracking algorithm is to use finite difference to approximate the gradient which is near the optimal value for antenna beam adjusting, and adjust the antenna beam according to stochastic approximation. Only noisy measurements of the received signal strength were used in this process. The antenna beam can be steered to track the target satellite in azimuth plane and elevation plane in the direction of steepest ascent of received signal by using the novel step tracking algorithm. Computer simulation results show not only the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, but also higher precision can be achieved by the proposed step tracking algorithm.

A novel approach of path planning for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) is presented based on immune genetic algorithm(IGA) with elitist. IGA introduces immune operator and concentration mechanism which improve the inherent defects of premature and slow convergence speed existing in genetic algorithm (GA). Simulation results show that an ideal flight path can be more quickly searched using IGA, under conditions of meeting the requirements for UAV and the given constraints. Correctness and effectiveness of IGA are verified.
