A 2.5 GHz low power current reused Colpitts VCO and divide-by-two circuit is proposed in 0.18µm CMOS technology. The divider is stacked on top of a common drain gm-boosted differential Colpitts VCO to share the DC current. A parasitic capacitance neutralization technique is used to eliminate the miller effect with the VCO, and improves the generated negative resistance and phase noise performance. The circuit can provide a 2.36–2.53GHz quadrature output frequency, and consume 4mW at 1.8V supply voltage. The simulated output phase noise is −126dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset frequency when the divider output is 2.45 GHz.

Channel allocation scheme on heterogeneous wireless networks is studied. The contributions of our work are threefold. First, by using network queuing theory, traffic overflowing based channel allocation scheme is presented and analyzed for heterogeneous wireless networks in terms of the connection-level QoS. To decrease channel interference, traffic overflowing are restricted within pre-defined channels. Second, to meet the high QoS requirements of some services and increase the utilization of radio resources, certain services can be transformed between real-time services and non-real-time services as necessary. And third, to further improve the system performance, other priority strategies such as pre-emptive priority are introduced. Simulation results demonstrate that our schemes can lower blocking probabilities and improve system performance.

To design a GPS/DR integrated vehicle navigation system, after analyzing individual characters of navigation and positioning system of GPS and DR, a kind of extended kalman filter algorithm has been designed. By this algorithm, the positioning data of GPS/DR has been processed and the simulation experiment has been done. It is proved practical. The GPS/DR integrated vehicle navigation system has been progressed and advanced more than the common navigation system both in reliability and precision. The GPS/DR integrated vehicle navigation system is a more suitable vehicle navigation system.

The spray visual system of GDI injector was designed. The GDI injector driver based on L9707 droved the fuel injection into a constant volume chamber. The spray development at various injection pressures, ambient back pressure and at different injection durations was visualized and memorized by high speed camera. By the wall placed at various angle in the chamber, the impinging spray development was also visualized and memorized. The system had high sample frequency, wide applicability and nicety experiment data. The system could be used for combustion chamber design, injector and spark plug distribution.

The typical intersection traffic flow control ways play poor role in saturated status, in order to resolve this problem, at first, the intersection control features under saturated status is analyzed, then by the queue length detection by video detection way, a new control way with threshold and rule is put forward, in which three control stages are included. Simulation result shows that this method has more effectiveness than the Webster's method when traffic flow is saturated.

Aiming at the characteristics of human body structure, a surface modeling method for 3D scattered human body data is presented in this paper. Firstly, a series of horizontal cross sections are applied to sample the 3D scattered point cloud data. Secondly, for each cross section, the sample points are clustered into several point sets. And then, cubic splines are employed to approximate the above point sets to build several curves for circle sampling to obtain the triangle vertexes. Finally, the vertexes are employed to build the triangular meshes by adjacent contour lines triangulation method, and then the 3D human surface model is reconstructed. The experiment shows that our method is valid and feasible.

For roller fault diagnosis problems in textile spinning-frame, a method which combines an improved wavelet algorithm and support vector machine is presented. This method extracts feature information of the failure and classifies the failure. Based on the analysis of the frequency overlapping phenomenon encountered in traditional wavelet algorithm, the improved wavelet algorithm combines wavelet transform and FFT analysis to reduce the frequency overlapping phenomenon. The SVM classifiers are adopted because the sample available in the problem of roller fault diagnosis is small. Simulation results demonstrate the improved wavelet algorithm is superior to the common wavelet algorithm for the problem of the spinning-frame roller fault diagnosis, and SVM is very effective for fault identification.

This paper presents the design and implementation of a simple AC chopper with one driving signal for induction motor system. The new driving circuit of the proposed AC chopper is designed and implemented by Lenz's law with one PWM signal and two transformers. Thus, the current of the motor is operated in continuous mode. The switching spike, switching loss and cost of the proposed AC chopper are better than the conventional PWM AC chopper. Finally, the measured results show the flexibility and accuracy of the proposed method with a 70W induction motor.

This paper presents an in-depth modeling of a pressure-compensated flow control valve (PC valve) by making its physical meaning more understandable and analysable. Proper simplification is used to describe the internal principles of control laws. Theoretical analysis of the relation between the design parameter and the performance based on the valve model is described. The result of this method is coincident with that of an unreduced model.

A hybrid oscillator for WiMAX application is presented with comprehensive study. The hybrid oscillator is part of a digital fractional-N frequency synthesizer realized in a 0.13-µm CMOS process. By operating the DAC followed by oscillator, the requirement of finest switched capacitor value and high-speed dithering of Δ Σ data converter are relaxed. A time-domain simulation approach for modeling the phase noise introduced by the frequency discretization was taken. The proposed approach is well suited to investigate complex interactions in the sophisticated system, which cannot be studied by using conventional RF and analog simulation tools. The prototype core chip consumes 8.6 mA from a 1.4-V supply while providing a phase noise of −120.35 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from 2.808 GHz carrier and a 570 MHz frequency tuning range (23%).
