Delivery care is crucial for both maternal and prenatal health. Increasing skilled attendance at birth is a central goal of safe motherhood and child survival. The main aim of this study is to identify whether place of delivery is changing over time. And also to assess the socio-economic and demographic factors influencing women's decision for choice of place of delivery in rural areas of Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh. This study is conducted in 20 selected villages by using purposive random sampling. For this purpose 800 women belonging to age group of 15-49 years were surveyed during July 2015-June 2016. The result of the study shows that 51.3 per cent of deliveries have been taken place at health care institutions and only 48.7 per cent of deliveries took place at home. All women who had completed higher secondary education were preferred health care institutions for their delivery (during last birth). The key factors influencing choice of place of delivery is education, age at marriage, low standard living condition. Having a distant health center, lack of transportation and financial constraints are the other main reasons for choosing a home delivery. It concludes that trend of delivery at health institution is remarkably increased but there is found strong differentials in low socio-economic status of women.

This paper draws on review of current literature to explore the relationship between rural institutions and rural development while reflecting on the linkages of smallholder farmers and donor contribution. The results presented are of qualitative data analysis from previous and current literature. The paper provides a detailed overview of nomenclaturizing rural development as a critical result of improvements in education, health, agriculture, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as part of rural industrialization in rural Zimbabwe. Improving health by investing in increased awareness and access to information sharing among communities, policy development, program planning and service delivery fosters rural development. As the world belatedly turns its attention to the pressing issues of environmental degradation and climate change, the concept of sustainability takes its rightful place at centre stage in discussions about agriculture and rural development. Improving education through promoting information and technology dissemination for learning and access to information, coordination of major sources of funding for education, policy on education for rural areas, conducting research and development as well as the total number of rural farmers assisted.

It has been widely argued that decentralized governance is an instrument for multifaceted development and it can ensure effective and equitable development at grassroots level (Maro 1990; Tuner 2000: 115; World Bank 2000:107). This is because, locally elected representatives know their small constituency better and are in advantageous position to provide better services according to their electorate’s preferences. It is easier for the electorates to hold elected bodies accountable for their performance (Higgins 1992:3). In the present study, development refers to the progress achieved in decentralized governance per se and its effective, equitable and sustainable delivery of services to the satisfaction of the people. Effectiveness is understood as the ability of decentralized governance to produce results that meet the future needs of society while making the best use of resources at their disposal. Equity is defined as the ability of decentralized governance to distribute and to deliver services fairly as well as fair justice in the society to the satisfaction of disadvantaged groups, particularly the SCs, STs, women, including minorities and people below the poverty line. Sustainability means the ability of decentralized governance to generate and to maintain the development process for a longer period. This paper focuses on the effectiveness of service delivery by the panchayats in the State of Manipur. The paper is an extract from the Ph.D Thesis of Mr. SonkhongamHaokipentitled “Study of Issues of Social Inclusion and Exclusion in Manipur.”

Since ancient times and responsibility exist in the life of a person regardless of motives, whether motivated of the revenge idea, The target of revenge may be is the punishment or the goal is to achieve a social just. because it is impossible to imagine that leaves the human in this world without such rules to control his actions and determine his actions and codify what is permissible and forbidden from actions. This study is a critical analysis of Nigerian democratic experiment and crisis of governance. It is axiomatic to state that Nigeria is naturally endowed with both human and material resources that can trigger off national development and growth but still grope with unbridled failures, weak economy and high debt profile. The main reasons for the undemocratic practice and socio economic stagnation are the leadership crises; bad policies, poor moral and ethical standards, undemocratic selection process (imposition pattern), political corruption which have weakened the system of governance. The study focused to establish how the governors of Nigerian States handled the affairs of the people they govern and reasons for the underdevelopment especially in the rural areas. The study adopted elite and anomic theories considered relevant to this study as theoretical framework of analysis. The study established that; selection and imposition of candidates as our leaders, corruption of the democratic and electoral system by the ruling class have contributed in negating good governance and enthroning callousness among our elected leaders. The implication of the study is that if these ugly trends among our leaders are not checked especially at the state level, it could lead to lawlessness, mass poverty and sacrifice of moral rectitude at the altar of hooliganisms among the people. Recommendations were made that the government should be more sensitive to the plight of her citizens, by way of creating employment opportunities for the teaming unemployed youths, sustaining the payment of worker’s salaries and provision of social amenities that will bring about improved living condition of the people.

The present study is aimed to study the learning style of male and female students with reference to their emotional intelligence at senior secondary level. A sample of 250 boys and 250 girls studying in four senior secondary schools of Meerut city was randomly selected. The investigator had personally met the participants and administered the tool. Emotional Intelligence scale by Arun Kumar, Prof. Suraksha and learning style inventory by Prof. K.S.Misra was used. Investigator studied emotional intelligence of male and female students. Learning styles of male and female students with reference to high and low emotional intelligence was also studied. Mean, S.D., T-test, percentage and significance of percentage were calculated to analyse the data. The findings reveal that male and female students do not differ with reference to emotional intelligence. Males with high emotional intelligence prefer enactive reproducing, verbal reproducing, figural and reproducing learning styles whereas female students prefer verbal constructive, enactive and constructive learning styles. Males with low emotional intelligence prefer figural constructive and constructive learning styles while females prefer enactive reproducing, figural reproducing and reproducing learning styles.

The development of the client portfolio has become at the heart of the business policies of companies. Managers are increasingly paying attention to their brand strategies and are focusing on strengthening the brand-consumer relationship. The objective of this paper is to study the relationship between the dimensions of brand attachment and the dimensions of fidelity while analysing the moderating role of nostalgic connections on this relationship. An empirical study was carried out on an accidental sample of 210 people. The results of structural modelling relate the positive and significant impact of addictive attachment on attitudinal and behavioural fidelity, while the attachment of friendship has a negative impact on both dimensions of loyalty. The moderating role of nostalgic connections has been rejected because of the inconsistency between the desire to recall a period of life or a person with the quality (happy or unhappy) of the period in question.
