The regularities of ensuring the quality of the metal lining surface of the of railway car bodies before the operation of factory or repair painting are described. The gas-dynamic method given in this paper can significantly improve the efficiency and quality of surface preparation for painting. The results of the study of particles acceleration in a gas-dynamic flow are presented, the process of abrasive particles collision with the surface, the degree of cleaning of the car metal lining, and the surface roughness after treatment are researched. The influence of all the above factors on the quality of the pre-painting is described. The relevance of this study is determined by the high requirements of manufacturers of paint and varnish materials for the quality of pre-painting of metal surfaces.

The existing physical and mathematical models of polymer materials are analyzed. It is found out that in all existing models, the speed factor should play a significant role. Experimental studies of velocity impact on the characteristics of polymer supporting and return devices automatic coupling shock absorbers are carried out. Experimental dynamic studies are carried out on the BSTU-BSZ slide stand, static studies on the PMM-250 press of BSTU Laboratory of Machine Dynamics and Strength. Polymer elements made of the most common materials on the rolling stock of the Russian Federation railways - Durel and Hytrel - are selected as objects of the research. In order to take into account the velocity impact only on the polymer supporting and return block, a corresponding device is developed. To exclude the influence of other operational factors on the characteristics of polymer retaining and return devices, parallel experiments are conducted on several identical objects at different times. The paper provides a detailed description of the conducted experimental studies and the results obtained in the form of graphs of power characteristics. It is found that the velocity factor significantly affects the power characteristics, there is an increase in the recall coefficient of the power characteristic up to 26%, as well as an increase in strength up to 42%.

The task is set to select and study information and measuring elements and actuating mechanisms for complex automation of CNC machines based on the analysis of mechanical assembly production sites in the field of mechanical engineering. Paper objective is to develop information support for measuring instruments and actuating mechanisms to implement the automation of a crane manipulator serving a flexible production site with mechanical assembly machines. The following problems are stated: technological analysis of the research object based on recursive procedures; determination of measurement operations and actuating mechanisms on the active elements of a flexible production site, including manipulator crane operations, turning, milling, radial drilling machines; study of the issue of designing a crane manipulator with a clamp; calculation of the power of the crane manipulator actuator to select the load capacity of its clamp. The task is set to develop information support for measuring and actuating devices for machine-assembling machines and crane manipulators servicing the machine body. To determine the power of the manipulator crane drive, a mathematical model of the transmission and the required characteristics of the load release in braking mode are constructed.

The problems of analyzing the thermal pattern of the spindle assembly of the machine are considered. A technique for obtaining regression models in MS Excel environment is developed. A linear regression model of changing the contact thermal resistance is proposed without taking into account the interaction of factors in the thermal model of the joints of machine parts. Using the Correlation tool, a comparative assessment of the significance and elimination of some factors are performed by analyzing matching linear correlation coefficients. With the help of the Regression tool based on the least squares method (LSM), a numerical evaluation of the parameters of the proposed models and their quality check are performed; the homoscedasticity of the regression residues is proved; the statistical equivalence of the constructed models is analyzed.

The study objective is to develop and justify the technology to repair cylindrical brushes with the replacement of traditional cassette prefabricated space plates with non–space ones and to assess the influence of the shape of pile cross-section on the effectiveness of forming the drawing prism in front of the pile. The task to which the paper is devoted is the computational justification of the technology to replace traditional sweeper brushes with modern non–space ones; determination and optimization of the parameters of the cylindrical brush pile capacity; laboratory modeling of the dependence of the removed swept stuff mass on the relative distance between piles. Research methods: computational and analytical methods for adapting mathematical dependencies of the sweeping efficiency indicators at the stage of operation of a repaired machine with replacement of brushes and optimization of machine performance indicators by increasing the volume of the swept stuff prism. The novelty of the work. The calculation method is used to justify the change in the design of a cylindrical brush when replacing worn elements of a cylindrical brush with non–space ones. The results of a laboratory study of the effect of the relative distance between the piles on the volume of the swept stuff prism are presented. Study results. Technological methods used for the repair of mounted working equipment of road machines are analyzed. It is shown that the most promising for repair with an increase and optimization of brush equipment is a set of brush discs without spacers made of polypropylene pile and base. A technological process is developed in the form of a route map for the repair of a cylindrical brush and brush discs of the working equipment of a sweeper. Conclusions: calculations justify the effectiveness of the technology to repair the working equipment of sweepers with the replacement of a traditional cassette brush with a non–space one of Beeline type. Increasing the sweeping efficiency is ensured by optimizing the pile capacity of the cylindrical brush, reducing the cost of deformation of such a pile and reducing the loss of pile friction on the surface to be swept. The effect of the relative distance between the piles on the mass of the sand formed in front of the conditionally rigid pile is experimentally found out.

The problem is considered in order to find new solutions to improve the grip of locomotive wheels with rails to increase their traction properties. As a result of the analysis, the possibility is found to increase the traction coefficient by improving the dynamic properties of the carriage part, using the phenomenon of self-oscillation of wheel pairs and the impact of a magnetic field on the contact surface of the wheel and rail. For locomotives with two-axle bogies with a wheel diameter of 1250 mm, it is proposed to use a traction drive with an asynchronous traction motor attached to the bogie frame and an axial gearbox, which allows these methods to be implemented with the existing base of bogies. New traction drive designs are proposed for locomotives with a wheel diameter of 1050 mm.

Additive technologies are represented by various methods of 3D printing and are increasingly being used in various industries around the world. For example, printing with metal powders is used for the production of such structural elements as various arm supports in the aircraft industry or the manufacture of spacecraft hulls. The use of 3D printing with the use of polymer materials makes it possible to manufacture, for example, various gears for non-principle mechanisms. The use of such technology in pneumatics is also relevant. However, at the same time, the possibility of using these technologies for the manufacture of various pneumatic devices has not been widely studied up to now. In the course of studying this issue, a pneumatic gearbox was made. However, it was found out that one of the problems that does not allow to design and manufacture a normally functioning pneumatic device is an unknown value of friction factor of the materials of which its elements are made. The study objective is to find out the static friction factor of products made of polymer materials using 3D printing technologies. The necessity of this study is explained by the problems that arose as a result of testing a high-performance pneumatic gearbox manufactured using additive technologies applying various polymer materials. The main problem of this device is the density violation of fixed detachable joints of gearbox case parts and covers. Since the medium to be used is compressed air under a pressure of 0.9 MPa, any density violation can lead to the gearbox destruction or to air losses from the braking system of a freight train due to an increase in the number of leaks in the pipeline for additional power supply to the spare reserve. The paper presents the results of experimental studies on finding the friction factor of various types of materials used in 3D printing. The obtained friction factors are required for the design of seals of pneumatic devices according to generally accepted methods.

The study objective was to assess the influence of friction factors and geometric parameters of a spherical rolling screw motion drive on its efficiency. The load is transferred by means of a cone-and-plate engagement of two rows of rollers mounted on a satellite with fixed and driven plate central gears. With the help of a spherical rolling screw motion drive, it is possible to realize a wide range of gear ratios (16...200) and reduce the material capacity of the gearbox, ensuring the ratio of its mass to the nominal transmitted torque of less than 0.1 kg/(N•m). The main task of this research is to find out the ascent angle of the spatial closed center curves with the help of which the surfaces of the central wheel teeth are formed. The research methods are based on the application of the classical mechanics laws and computer modeling algorithms in NX system. The novelty of the research is in the novelty of the technical object under study, its low level of being studied, the lack of detailed methods of its calculation and design. As a result, based on the analysis of the geometric satellite model, the equations of the center curves are obtained and an algorithm for determining the ascent angle of the center curve in the middle section of the central wheel teeth is developed, which allows power analysis of the motion drive. The applicability of the formula for calculating the average ascent angle of a piecewise helical curve located on a cylindrical surface for spherical motion drives is evaluated and the necessity of its adjustment taking into account a given gear ratio and the inclination angle of the drive shaft crank is found out. An algorithm is developed for the theoretical study of the efficiency of spherical roller gears at the design stage.

The load is transferred by means of a cone-and-plate engagement of two rows of rollers mounted on a satellite with fixed and driven plate central gears. With the help of a spherical rolling screw motion drive, it is possible to realize a wide range of gear ratios (16...200) and reduce the material capacity of the gearbox, ensuring the ratio of its mass to the nominal transmitted torque of less than 0.1 kg/(N•m). The main task of this research is to find out the ascent angle of the spatial closed center curves with the help of which the surfaces of the central wheel teeth are formed. The research methods are based on the application of the classical mechanics laws and computer modeling algorithms in NX system. The study objective is to develop a method of structural synthesis of closed kinematic chains of moving links into the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth subfamilies of the first family. Tasks: to obtain a complete set of solutions describing the arrangement of closed kinematic chains of moving links of the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth subfamilies of the first family with the complexity of the basic chain link equal to two and three, the mobility of the chain equaling to six and the total number of chain links from 3 to 6 based on the universal structural system of Professor L.T. Dvornikov for closed kinematic chains of moving links of the first family. Using the data obtained, consider the construction of a block diagram of a closed kinematic chain of moving links of the first family on a specific example. Research methods: a method of structural synthesis of closed kinematic chains of moving links of the first family is used. The novelty of the work: the peculiarities of applying a universal structural system for determining the composition of closed kinematic chains of moving links of the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth subfamilies of the first family are considered. An example of using the obtained combinations of kinematic pairs and links for the synthesis of structural schemes of closed kinematic chains of moving links of the first family is shown. Study results: combinations of kinematic pairs and links are obtained, which make it possible to find structural schemes of closed kinematic chains of moving links of the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth subfamilies of the first family under given parameters, from which single-moving mechanisms of the first family can be formed by stopping the link.
