Implemetation of Mechanical Motion Amplifier in Hybrid Shock Absorber with Linear Generator and Fluid Damper 机械运动放大器在线性发电机和流体阻尼器混合减振器中的实现

Commercial implementation of present design of electromagnetic shock absorbers with electric generator is not feasible due to heavier weight. Design and analysis of a novel energy harvesting shock absorber has been disclosed that comprises of mechanical motion amplification, linear generator and displacement sensitive fluid damping has been presented in the paper. The linkage mechanism used in the shock absorber can achieve significant motion amplification in the generator relative velocity without affecting the system inertia. Theoretical study of the linear generator is supported with experimentation on a reduced scale model consisting rare earth magnets. Finite element and theoretical simulation analysis has been performed, which indicates significant improvement in harvesting efficiency, braking effect on the coils and smoothness of the damping force as compared to the earlier reported devices. Finally, comfort and handling evaluation with numerical simulation of the quarter car model proves applicability of presented work.

Portal Based Prepaid Energy Billing System Using GSM 基于GSM的门户预付能源计费系统

A majority of energy providers in India are still using the traditional method of energy meter billing which is obsolete and inefficient. It requires considerable manual work, consumes time and resources. Conventional energy metering systems lack bidirectional communication. The technology of energy metering has undergone several advancements however it still has many problems such as theft of electricity, inadequate last mile connectivity, no electricity connection, distribution, and consumer-level losses, etc. This paper demonstrates the use of an innovative system which will bridge the gap between the consumer and energy provider. It includes designing a web portal providing access to the billing information. The system is a wireless Global System for Mobile communication(GSM) based energy meter which has a web interface, Internet of Things (IoT) is used for displaying details of real-time energy consumption. The proposed system does not replace the traditional meters and it can be easily interfaced with the existing energy meters. Additionally, it acts as a substitute for the former reading methods and allows global access of a present energy meter to the energy supplier and customer.

Modeling and Analysis of Textured Surfaces on a Single Point Cutting Tool 单点切削刀具上纹理表面的建模与分析

While performing any machining operation like turning or facing with the help of single point cutting tool various factors affect the machining operation. For any machining operation, the operation should always be completed in minimum possible time and should possess excellent surface finish at optimal cost. Therefore, to achieve these properties study on single point cutting tool is to be made and some modifications of the tool with proper analysis is to be done. This modification involves providing micro textures on the surface of the rake face of carbide inserts. The primary purpose is to note that how the microgroove textured tools perform while machining and to compare this performance with non-textured cutting tools. Groove width, groove depth and width to depth ratio are the parameters that are examined. The texture provided will increase its efficiency and reduce the friction caused due to the tool chip interface, increasing tool life. A proper flow of lubrication over the tool due to texture will ensure less friction between the tool and the chip generated. To check whether the provision of texture would involve undesired stress on the tool, simulation is carried out in ANSYS. For experimental analysis different combinations of groove width and groove depth are textured on the carbide tool and forces are calculated by mounting strain gauges on the tool holder. Calculations of forces involve proper calibration of tool holder on Universal Testing Machine. Forces involved are namely cutting force, feed force and neutral force, are calculated using Wheatstone bridge connected across strain gauges mounted on the tool holder. It is found that tools with micro textures generate lower cutting force and feed force.

Proposed Solution for Trackable Donations using Blockchain 使用区块链的可追踪捐赠的建议解决方案

The lack of transparency has made people lose trust in charities, making social funding stagnant. The donor is unaware of the legitimate utilization of his funds. Corruption adds to the distrust of the donor. This paper proposes a system called Charity-Chain that is a decentralised network built on the Ethereum blockchain. It helps social organisations to run projects transparently, using smart contract-based incentives to ensure their impact is independently verified and accessible to everyone. This makes it much easier for funders (philanthropic organisations, impact investors, small donors) to monitor their transactions and hence restore their trust in giving to such social organizations.

Localization of a damage in an Aluminium plate using Lamb wave based ultrasonic testing and Genetic algorithm 基于Lamb波超声检测和遗传算法的铝板损伤定位

In the present work, damage localization is carried out in an Aluminium plate utilizing Lamb waves and Genetic Algorithm (GA). The Piezoelectric Wafer (PW) transducer is utilized for actuating and sensing of Lamb waves. The experiments are carried out using fundamental symmetric mode (S0) of Lamb wave at a peak frequency of 290 kHz. Continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is used to obtain the time of flight (TOF) of the wave packet reflected from the damage. The GA utilizes TOF measurements from four PW sensors to locate the damage. The suggested methodology utilizes the intersection of four TOF circles to conclude the damage location. The damage is located with an accuracy of more than 98%.

A Semi-Autonomous Tracked Robot Detection of Gun and Human Movement Using Haar Cascade Classifier for Military Application 基于Haar级联分类器的半自主履带式机器人对武器和人体运动的检测

The evolutionary process of modern robotics helps the military forces to revamp their aged systems with today's advanced technology. For defending any kind of criminal activities like hostage situation created by any extremist or a militant group the uses of all terrain military assistance robot has increased from past time. In this paper we have approached a stair climbing robot with some creative features which can assist a military group to complete a mission or achieve any milestone. We have focused on reliable designs and unique stair climbing mechanisms with the detection of stairs through image processing. Moreover detecting the human movement and different kind of guns using the image processing algorithms helps us to upgrade our system into a semi-autonomous robot. Using radio frequency communication protocol, wide range of working space is achieved which helps the user to control the robot from a safe distance from the crime zone. Experimental analysis of the system justify the reliability as well as the efficiency of the design and the algorithms for practical scenario.

Evaluating the Performance of Proposed IODAM Algorithm 提出的IODAM算法的性能评价

Distributed Association Rule Mining (DARM) is a technique used to identify the desired buying patterns of the products bought by the customers from the transaction set that are distributed in various nodes located geographically at different locations. The paper describes the performance of proposed DARM algorithm called IODAM (Incremental Optimized Distributed Association Mining) using the various experiments conducted for calculating execution time on given datasets in a distributed environment. Scalability refers to the evaluating the performance of the algorithm when the nodes are added in the distributed environment. Scalability testing for factors such as Scaleup and Speedup is performed and measured for the IODAM algorithm, and the algorithm withstands all the factors efficiently.

Implementation of Li-Fi based Multi-hop Ad Hoc Network for Inter Vehicle Communication 基于Li-Fi的车载通信多跳自组织网络的实现

Avoiding accidents and traffic congestion use major concerns of the country. Various articles and studies have shown that these accidents could have been avoided if the driver was prescient about the approaching vehicle or the maneuver the car ahead is about to take. Hence a need of communication between vehicles arises. This paper focuses on present techniques used for Inter-Vehicle Communication (IVC) as well as for Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) Communication, using Radio waves as a medium of message transmission. Overcoming the limitations of the present central sensor-based networks, a new multi-hop ad hoc network which uses light as a medium to transfer data at high speed. To validate the proposed Light fidelity (Li-Fi) system, an experimental setup was made using ATmega328 to transmit the data using Light Emitting Diode (LED). Light bulb and bit error rates were calculated at various disturbances between the transmitter and various intensities of the light source.

Waterproofing of Strain Gauges for Underwater Applications 水下应变片的防水

To measure strain in underwater applications, it is required to carry out waterproofing of strain gauges to protect them from the water ingress. In this work a novel approach using Polyurethane (PU) sealant has been adopted for the waterproofing. The approach was demonstrated on a composite laminate. Strain gauges were bonded on the laminate and PU sealant was applied over the gauges. Strains of PU sealant coated gauge and bare gauge is compared to see the effect of coating the gauge with PU sealant. Experiments were performed to measure strains in three cases - before application of the sealant, during curing of the sealant and presence of water over the sealant. In all three cases, the strains were found to be in accordance with each other. Strain value of PU sealant coated gauge varies less than 2 % of the bare gauge.

Handwritten Gujarati script recognition with image processing and deep learning 手写古吉拉特文字识别与图像处理和深度学习

The motive behind writing this paper is to throw light on the proposed application which can be used for detecting and recognizing Gujarati handwritten scripts using image processing and machine learning techniques. It emphasizes the key technologies involved in this process. There is a lot of variation in the handwriting of people and the curves involved in the characters of the Gujarati language and therefore possess a challenge in the process. The paper features all the important phases in character recognition and detection process namely image acquisition, preprocessing, segmentation, classification and recognition, and post-processing. It also emphasizes the key aspects like the designing a neural network suitable for the challenging task of handwritten character recognition in Gujarati scripts, training and testing that model and fine-tuning various hyper-parameters to get the best accuracy. The paper can be referred by researchers and technology enthusiasts to develop systems for Gujarati script recognition. The paper aims to present and deal with special properties associated with Gujarati script.
