The work is devoted to the issues of statistical processing of images based on the modeling of some mechanisms of perception on the periphery of the human visual system (the retina). First of all, we mean the processes of coding (compression) of information, registered by receptors for its compact transmission through the visual channel, i.e. the optic nerve. So the synthesis of the proposed coding is based on the known mechanisms of neural layered processing of registered radiation. One of the features of such a coding is the enhancement of the illumination/reflectivity in the field of view. The main idea of such enhancement is formalized in the frames of the so-called Retinex model. Second, the classical approach to the coding synthesis is the Rate–Distortion theory. However, it has been established over the past two decades, that an optimal ratio of rate and distortion does not guarantee high perceptual image quality. It is because the coding also needs to have some predictive aspects. In this regard, the information bottleneck principle, proposed around 2000, proved to be very promising for solving the Rate-Distortion-Perception tradeoff. In this work we offer some insights for implementing this principal into Retinex-type images enhancement. Namely, we propose a generative model of an image encoder that provides an optimal compromise between the degree of data compression and the predictive (perceptual) quality of the code. The generative model of such an encoder opens up the way to the synthesis of image encoding methods based on the known principles of statistical (machine) learning, such as: multiresolution analysis, nonlinear (adaptive) filtering, neural networks, etc. For an adequate construction of a generative model of image / neural coding, a number of formalized descriptions are used in the paper. They are, firstly, the description of the recorded data through a special representation of images by a controlled size samples of counts (sampling representations) and, secondly, a description of the neural coding of the recorded data, carried out by bipolar / ganglion neurons through a system of receptive fields. The main characteristics of the synthesized coding methods are illustrated by the results of computer simulation.

A precise wheat yield estimation and prediction are significant for food safety and security purposes of a region or a country, which provide societal peace and sustainable development. Earlier methods for wheat yield prediction are time-consuming, site-specific, and expensive, require more manpower, and delay results with numerous errors and uncertainty. This research work uses numerous heterogeneous data in machine learning via linear regression (LR), decision tree (DT), and random forest (RF) regression by python for accurate wheat yield estimation and prediction at 10m resolution. In a comparison of all three regressions, RF shows the highest accuracy with R2: 98, and RMSE: 1.40, which is also increasing from seedling to harvest growth stage. This research work provides precision agriculture for the sustainable development of a region or a country.

The emerging trend in the development of connected and autonomous vehicles provides new opportunities for solving practical problems in a transportation area, in particular, an adaptive traffic signal control problem, which is considered in this paper. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the performance of a traffic signal control algorithm in a partially connected vehicle environment with a mixed traffic flow, including both connected and human-driven vehicles. A control algorithm based on maximizing the weighted flow of vehicles, passing through an intersection in a specified time interval is explored. Experimental studies of the algorithm under various penetration rates of connected vehicles in a real-world traffic simulation scenario confirm the effectiveness of the considered approach.

In this article, we consider the entanglement between three identical qubits resonantly interacting with a thermal field of an Q-infinite resonator. We derived the exact solution of the evolution equation for density matrix of the considered system. On it basis we calculate the negativity as a criteria of entanglement between pairs of qubits for biseparable and entangled W-type states of qubits. The results showed that for considered initial qubits states the effect of the entanglement sudden death occurs for all values of the average number of thermal photons.

We study the issues of using a discrete apparatus (the logical methods of integer data analysis) for the problem of supervised classification. Three main directions of logical classification are considered, represented by the methods of Correct Voting Procedures, as well as the methods of Logical Analysis of Data and Formal Concept Analysis. A general scheme for describing logical classifiers using the terminology of Correct Voting Procedures is proposed.

In this research, a superposition identical parallel Laguerre–Gaussian beams with sole rings is investigated. We numerically and theoretically demonstrated that the total topological charge of the superposition is equal to the topological charge of each constituent element in the far field and in the origin plane if the weight factors of the superposition are real. It was prooved that if there is the phase delay between the beams than the total topological charge of the superposition is altered.

In this paper, auto- and cross-correlation patterns in the diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) by means of electroencephalogram analysis are considered. The author's method was used for the analysis: the Memory Functions Formalism. On the basis of electroencephalograms from 30 subjects, 15 of whom suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms, 15 are healthy people, the parameter of non-Markov for autocorrelation study was studied. As part of the cross-correlation study, cross-Markov parameter was studied, and the distances of strong manifestation of this effect for the group of healthy people and volunteers with OCD were determined.

Nowadays, due to the growth in the number of vehicles, the problem of effective traffic control remains relevant. Popular approaches to solve this problem are the use of traffic signal control methods and the use of vehicular rerouting methods. The paper considers the problem of the cooperative application of vehicular traffic rerouting method and the method of adaptive control of traffic signals for effective traffic control. A presented traffic rerouting method takes into account the state of adaptively controlled traffic lights. The results of experimental studies of the developed method in the SUMO simulation environment are presented.
