E-culture is the combination of Information and Communication Technologies ICTs with traditional culture. Cultural heritage reveals elements of the past, which renders the occupation with it by contemporary societies, an absolute necessity. This paper aims to present a thorough review of e-culture, its methods and its applications in recent years. First, it focuses on the alternative choice of creating virtual museums in order to improve traditional museums' services through an attractive way to the visitor. Moreover, it discusses the significance of cultural digitization analysing the methods of digitization for both monuments and objects. Finally, it mentions the potential of numerous existing guide applications, which can be installed on cell phones and whose aim is to facilitate the navigation of visitors at archaeological sites and museums, as well as the potential of robots, which guide visitors to museums in an interactive way.

This paper introduces student-initiated projects outside the classroom as an effective method for developing intended learning outcomes ILOs based on Effat university graduate characteristics and national accreditation standard for learning and teaching. The characteristics of the university graduate are based on the IQRA values core values that stand for: adopting research for life, social values, responsible and creative leadership, and effective communication. Furthermore, the academic programs ILOs are designed according to National Qualification Framework NQF of the National Commission of Academic Assessment and Accreditation NCAAA. Effat Ambassadors Program EAP is a co-extra-curricular program with ILOs that focus on developing Effat student as ambassadors of IQRA values. ILOs related to social and educational values and responsible leadership are the most difficult to achieve and assess; therefore a construtivist approach towards leadership learning is described as "Life Immersion Learning Learning Model" LIM. This paper demonstrates LIM by focusing on one of the EAP projects initated by the Student Government, which was to launch a TEDx EffatU chapter for Effat University in Saudi Arabia. This project, as a real life project, was found to yield excellent results in terms of meeting characteristics of Effat graduate, especially for social & educational values and responsible leadership. Another result is the optimum student and teacher satisfaction and involvement.

In knowledge society the utilization of social media as a communication channel between people, groups and even companies is increasing. Current innovation and social media research has already shown the potential of crowdsourcing in the business-to-consumer (B2C) markets. The authors argue in this paper, however, that crowdsourcing has a great and yet partly undiscovered potential also in the context of business-to-business (B2B) markets. In order to get the full potential, a more detailed understanding of the logic of value creation in crowdsourcing activities between multiple stakeholders in B2B context is needed. This paper presents an exploratory study that is carried out as an empirical netnography-based multiple case study. The study opens up potential future research avenues by starting the discussion of value creation logic in B2B crowdsourcing. Practical implications are created through cases revealing what kind of value companies have already been able to gain from crowdsourcing in B2B context.

This case study explores the affordances of a specific Facebook group created by college students, as perceived by the group members. The main focus is to investigate if Facebook groups have an educational value. Furthermore, three secondary research topics emerged: comparison of the group's perceived affordances of faculty as opposed to the ones of students; comparison of the group's perceived affordances with the ones of Blackboard LMS; and comparison of the group's perceived affordances with the ones of a standard mailing list.

The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of the influence of corporate culture in the absorptive and innovative capacities of Spanish enterprises. This is an exploratory study conducted involving top managers from a sample of 53 large Spanish companies. An empirical analysis is performed using a structural equations model and bootstrapping methodology. The paper highlights the role of corporate culture as a concept that has a significant influence on the absorptive capacity and also on the innovative capacity of enterprises. The absorptive capacity is presented as a system that makes a work of observation, identification, collection and use of information and knowledge from abroad, which is considered essential to achieving and sustaining competitive advantage. The research performed shows how the different components of absorptive capacity, found in the literature are significant configuring the capacity as a latent variable with economic sense. Furthermore, regarding the sample studied, corporate culture has a significant influence on the innovative capacity. The model explains the influence of culture in the innovative capacity, and in the two components of it, incremental and radical innovation. The investigation has found also some interactions not included in the model proposed, as for example the relationship between the recognition as the part of the absorptive capacity component more related with radical innovation. The empirical model performed need to be replicated with other samples for further findings and possible generalization. Deconstructing corporate culture in eight dimensions permits to use some of them in a prescriptive way. The adoption of certain cultural values and attitudes and the use of management strategies designed to promote these values and attitudes, encourage the company to more easily benefit from the opportunities of their environment, increasing the ability to manage information of the environment.

Both academics and practitioners recognize the importance of certain variables such as organizational culture, a company's size and age or the entrepreneur's profile in explaining the success of a new company's service. However, it remains unclear if there is a direct and significant relationship, especially when the entrepreneur uses different indicators for measuring the performance of a new released service. 1 objective indicators, -such as financial-, or 2 subjective indicators, -based on entrepreneur's judgements, preferences and expectations-. The analysis of a sample of 354 Spanish SMEs belonging to the service sector that have developed new services in the last two years confirms that the importance and significance of these variables vary according to the type of indicator used.

In this paper, the authors describe and implement an algorithm to perform a supervised classification into Landsat MSS satellite images. The Maximum Likelihood Classification method is used to generate raster digital thematic maps by means of a supervised clustering. The clustering method has been proved in Landsat MSS images of different regions of Mexico to detect several training data related to the geographic environment. The algorithm has been integrated into Spatial Analyzer Module to improve the decision making model and the spatial analysis into GIS-applications.

Social media is changing the way individuals collaborate, learn and express themselves, allowing for the construction of an identity and a reputation that encompasses over many other digital spaces. In a context where the online identity of individuals may reveal the sum of their experiences and skills, reflecting the path of their personal, academic and professional lives, this paper introduces a conceptual framework and a model developed to analyse the construction of the self in online environments. The model was used in a research study developed at University of Aveiro, Portugal, aiming to analyse how identity is built and managed in formal and informal digital environments and reveals the existence of two main online identity profiles-context driven and user-driven identity profiles.

This paper presents the results of a literature search and review focused on the integration of digital games into educational processes, specifically in primary schools. It briefly analyses around 78 papers reporting research carried out in a range of different countries and with a variety of educational objectives. The study confirms the increasing wealth of scientific studies dealing with game based learning and its implementation in formal educational contexts. This also holds true for primary education, which is at the core of this study. The review reveals that in this sector there is a predominance of papers that could be classified as theoretical or as position papers; only 78 out of more than 700 published papers surveyed actually reported concrete school experiences of any kind. Detailed analysis of this sub-group has highlighted some clues that may prove useful for interpreting the data as a whole and for reflecting on the current and future trends that they may indicate.

The development of new technologies of information and communication ICT is creating a new group at risk of social exclusion: digital illiterates. This factor can be accumulated with other causes of exclusion, greatly complicating the full social inclusion. This is the case of a significant part of the prison population group in which the authors focused their study. The authors' work presents a quantitative study on the prison population in Galicia Spain. The authors have analyzed their knowledge and attitudes toward learning to use new technologies, concluding that it would be necessary to implement courses to help familiarize this group with the use of computers, since most do not have much knowledge in this area, to prevent isolation of the "communication society".
