The paper considers possibilities of performance of new requirements to an education system, connected with formation of a global innovative society. The cores from these requirements - formation of trainees' ability to generate ideas and to solve problems. The paper considers potential of the innovative educational technologies created by this time and gives classification of these technologies by levels depending on degree of performance of the named requirements. Now only one technology sufficiently corresponds to the named requirements. It is TRIZ-pedagogic consisting in integration of studying of various disciplines and subjects with studying of Theory of Inventive Problems Solving (TRIZ). Earlier as a part of TRIZ-pedagogic there was a method of creative tasks at which studying of a new material still had reproductive character. Authors of the paper have added TRIZ-pedagogic a method of the invention of knowledge that has allowed to apply this system of innovative education at all stages of educational process. In this method each studied system (under any curriculum) is considered as the result of overcoming contradictions in system - its progenitor. The method can be applied at studying both anthropogenous, and not anthropogenous systems as laws of overcoming of contradictions at their development are identical.

Personal Learning Environment is a reference to future learning. In this paper we present a multi-level analysis of the options and requirements in the universe of PLE, analyzing the content management system as the main tool of the learning environment. There are two principal models: distributed applications and mashups. Both have advantages and disadvantages, and they also share a big issue: lack of inter-application communication. We are trying to find a solution to this problem presenting an architecture for distributed applications model, so that transparency to the uses will be maintained.

Institutions of higher education serve to enhance the system of student assessment by paying attention to the students' achievement in order to produce competitive and quality students in the face of global competition. As a part of quality improvement, standard setting for students' examination scoring should be established in the institutions. This paper will explore the Objective Standard Setting (OSS) using Rasch measurement model which was developed by Wright and Grosse in early 1990s. This method deal with the constructed-response items using Rasch-based approach in the quantification of the judges' ratings. A case study of Design Project course (KKKM4955) in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia resulted that the OSS using the Rasch measurement model facilitates the determination of cut score for passing mark.

All educational institute have to assess their teaching for accrediting. The goal of this measuring is to evaluate that the content of the teachings is suited to the current jobs of our students. The accreditations institutes give the main methods and the regulatory environment, however the establishments are free to choose the operational experiment that leads to validate their educational programme into the regulatory context. To do this, we have assessed to teachings of EBI by using a competency framework (7 items and 30 sub-items). We have implemented a quantitative analysis based on these data and using an indicator based on the European Credits Transfer System. We have shown that our teachings are based on four axes: the scientific skills, interdisciplinary skills of engineering, the ability to work on an international context and the respect for social values. We also identified the areas for improvement of our trainings and its consistent with the future job of our students.

The demand for qualified national engineers is high in Qatar; Currently, a wide gap in supply exists. Consequently, urgent and proactive interventions at K-12 level to promote engineering profession to school students are required to increase the number of Qatari students who choose to study engineering. Since 2009, the College of Engineering at Qatar University is running the Life is Engineering Program (LIEP) as an outreach springboard program targeting the country high schools. This paper presents a reflection on the LIEP project, its organization, structure, and an assessment of its impact on high school students.

Creativity has been proclaimed as one of the key 21st century skills. Facing tremendous problems, creativity and innovation were seen at the key factors of a knowledge-based society, able to cope with ongoing and future problems. Engineers play an important role in addressing these challenges. Their ideas, their inventions, their creativity have brought Europe's prosperity, and it will depend on their inventions and creativity to ensure that progress in the future. This raises the question in what way universities contribute to educate creative engineers nowadays. The slightly provoking essay will present results of a pre-study on fostering creativity in higher engineering education, conducted in the funded German project: “ELLI-Excellent Teaching and Learning in Engineering Education”, and will discuss the remote lab approach of the finished EU-project “PeTEX-Platform for E-Learning and Telemetric Experimentation” as good practice example. It resumes with open questions addressing relevant future educational and socio-economic impacts.

A model for the formation of specialists' intellectual competence is presented in this paper. The peculiarity of this model is that it was based on the psychological mechanisms of the development of intelligence. The approaches to the design of educational technologies that ensure an effective development of intellectual competencies of future specialists were grounded.

The recording of lecture videos and disseminating them is becoming popular. However, recording and post-processing daily lectures still demands much human effort and financial resources. Our goal is to develop a cost-effective and labor-saving video processing system that can record lectures in high-definition and process them for additional analysis and publishing. Our main idea is that high-definition recording itself is labor-saving. A stationary high-definition camcorder can record a lecturer and an entire classroom clearly so that notes can be read on a whiteboard and projector screen. Therefore, no camera operator is necessary during recording. We succeeded in implementing a cost-effective system without expensive hardware components for capturing a high-definition video signal. In this contribution, we describe the design and operational results of our system, which has recorded about 20 lectures every school week since 2010.
