Lean Six Sigma Supply Chain Management and have share commonalities in terms of process and focus on solving customer problems to achieve customer satisfaction. They also complement each other and can be integrated together. This work has extended previous work on the proposed approaches and the implementation of the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC to improve Supply Chain Management using tools. Lean Six Sigma Tools efficient movement through the Supply Chain Management, including inventories, schedules, quantities of demand, etc. Supply Chain Management can use Lean Six Sigma principles, such as focusing on added value for customers, reducing waste and deficient, streamlining the value stream, and improved delivery times. The relevance of these tools and methods generally depends on the understanding of the methods and application environment. Improving the implementation, management and performance of a supply chain are not easy tasks. However, Supply Chain Management can use the concepts and tools of Lean Six Sigma to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction in terms of cost, quality and delivery. The case study provides an example implementation of Lean Six Sigma to improve a Supply Chain. It validated the implementation and provided a description of all phases of DMAIC.

The paper deals with a study of cluster-type development of regional economic systems. Positive influence on the social and economic growth of a number of regions in the Russian Federation has been evaluated owing to generation of territorial cluster-type formations. The paper includes findings of an investigation into theoretical nature of «cluster» as an economic category. As an example of positive influence of the clusterization strategy, the project of formation and development of the regional cluster of Nizhnekamsk Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan has been offered and validated from economic effectiveness point of view. For the purpose of the project feasibility validation, a methodological approach has been specifically designed for evaluation of economic potential of the city-forming enterprises. During approbation, the above mentioned approach brought to the front a number of intensive growth prospects for the enterprises in question in the course of integration, and, consequently, viability of the regional cluster became worthy of notice. At the same time, the project in question was rationalized from economic effectiveness perspective. For this line of the investigation a special methodological approach has been developed so as to allow predicting a level of synergetic effect of the clusterization.

This paper presents an evaluation of the trend of oil level production dependence on its operating cost, current oil price and expected revenue over a production period of 10 years (2003-2012). Results from both experiment and model prediction show that the oil production level is very significantly affected by its operating cost and expected revenue at a particular current oil price. A three-factorial model was derived, validated and used for the response analysis. Results from evaluations indicated that the standard error incurred in predicting oil production level for each value of the expected revenue & operating cost considered, as obtained from derived model and regression model were 0.0401 and 3.5 x 10-4 & 3.7348 and 3.7544% respectively. Further evaluation indicates that oil production per unit operating cost as obtained from experiment; derived model and regression model were 0.0556, 0.0552 and 0.0552 MTSB /M$ respectively. Comparative analysis of the correlations between oil production and operating cost, current oil price and expected revenue as obtained from experiment; derived model and regression model indicated that they were all > 0.99. The maximum deviation of the model-predicted oil production level (from experimental results) was less than 7%. This translated into over 93% operational confidence for the derived model as well as over 0.93 reliability response coefficients of oil production dependence to the operating cost, current oil price and expected revenue.

The supply chain concept has become a concern due to global competition and increasing customer demand for value because the Companies try to improve their industrial performance in terms of cost, delays, adaptability, variety and traceability. Thus, the information must be available in real time across the supply chain and this can not be achieved without an integrated software system for supply chain management. Supply chain members have to collaborate, sharing information for improving customer’s satisfaction. The purpose of this paper is to present what is the impact of the information system in performance of SCM in which a framework is based on Model Predictive Control (MPC) combined with a forecasting module was presented, so, this article is dealing with studying the relationship between information system and supply chain management (SCM) optimization. For this objective, we develop a new model based in model predictive control when is nowadays recognized as a standard methodology for the control of industrial and process systems. In addition, this article attempts to clearly describe the relation between the supply chain management and information system. The proposed framework will be determinate the efficiency of the method and the impact of forecast accuracy on overall control performance of the supply chain.

Based on the analysis of objective statistical data authors identified a global megatrend of the XXI century and the related growth of knowledge-intensive clustering, which provides high efficiency and competitiveness of the world economy. Based on the study of synergy, the self-organization theory and the eastern philosophy on original principles of synergy, the synergetic approach to the cluster development is elaborated. Article shows an artificial and rapid creation and development of clusters that uses the achievements of synergy, in particular ultrafast processes of the hyperbolic growth. The proposed model of clustering considers these processes.

The present study’s motivation is to identify the determinant factors for port efficiency of major ports in India during 1993 – 2011. For identifying the factors panel data models like pooled ordinary least square method, fixed effect model and random effect model are used. The hypothesis tested here is outside factors also influence port performance. The results of the study indicated that berth throughput, operating expenses and number of employees affect port efficiency in a significant positive manner, whereas cargo equipment’s and idle time shows negative but significant effect on port efficiency. From the study the inference drawn that only inside factors of the ports are the major determining factors of the performance of ports compare with outside factors.

In this paper, we propose a new share repurchasing model to show the impact of the heterogeneity of investor beliefs on share repurchase. We first provide a comprehensive survey on the literature of share repurchases which has not been considered by previous studies, to the best of our knowledge. We review both the theoretical model structures and the major empirical results including various measures of divergence of opinion developed in the literature. Our new repurchasing model uses actual share repurchases to show that investors’ divergence of opinion on the firm value matters in a manager’s share repurchase decision. The long-term stock price performance is consistent with our model predictions.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is considered as an engine of economic growth. Before the Economic reforms the flow of foreign direct investment to India has been comparatively limited because of the type of industrial development strategy and the various foreign investment policy followed by the nation. Government policy towards foreign capital was very selective. Foreign investment was normally permitted only in high technology industries in priority areas and in export oriented areas. So the inflow of FDI before 1990’s was very low. To fully utilize the country’s immense economic potential, the government launched Economic reforms in 1991. The new government policies are simple, transparent and promote domestic and foreign investment. India’s abundant and diversified natural resources, its sound economic policy, good market condition and high skilled human resources make it a proper destination for FDI. After long years of journey FDI was also introduced in various sectors and states in India. The Investment of FDI in various states and sectors leads to rapid growth of Indian economy. On this background, the paper analyses the sector wise and state wise inflows of FDI during the period 2000-2010.

The article describes the features of the cluster methodology and cluster systems. The Russian practice in implementation of the cluster approach and the experience on the use of the cluster approach in the implementation of socio-economic development strategy of the region. The study uses an example of the Republic of Dagestan (Russian Federation). The main focus is made on clusters “Caspian HUB” (transport-trade-logistics cluster) and “People’s House” (a unique cluster, aimed at stimulating the development of human capital) being nodal in the regions’ strategy. Aspects of the innovation potential of the region and the main directions of innovative activities of major enterprises of the industrial cluster of Republic of Dagestan (‘Aviaagregat’, ‘Hajiyev Plant’, ‘Research Institute ‘Sapphire’, ‘Dagfos’, etc.) are disclosed. Research results enabled to identify the main directions of the republic's economy required to stimulate clustering. The proposed initiatives are based on the improvement of mechanisms of state support for innovation at the regional level and on encouragement of the inflow of financial capital in the regional innovation system. The major objectives of the innovation potential of the Republic of Dagestan are defined.

The article deals with the background and benefits of international inter-cluster interactions. Research shows that the cluster is the most effective form of innovative development based on the concept of innovation ecosystem, and intercluster international partnership is the most appropriate form of organization for the development of high-tech-based inter-sectoral cooperation and implementation of international projects. It is shown that the consideration of high-tech industry in the framework of the structural model as mega cluster means that the synergistic advantage can be seen only with a clear organizational structure and coordinated interaction of clusters. Analysis of necessity of inter-cluster interaction is considered on example of space industry. We propose tools for serching partners and assess the effectiveness of the scheme on the basis of inter-cluster interaction network approach and the results for the regional economy.
