This paper proposes a novel method of using wavelet kernel functions in Support Vector Machines (SVMs), and this method is applied to identification of individual communication transmitter which works in frequency-hopping spread spectrum modulation. The adoption of kernel function can improve the classification rate. The experimental results show how the recognition rates change with the parameters of wavelet kernel function. In a certain specific range, the classification rates maintain at a high level.

Crowds occur frequently, usually without serious problems. Occasionally venue inadequacies and deficient crowd management result in injuries and fatalities. The crowd behavior investigation and test system acts as a tie for simulation and analysis of crowd behavior. Based on a simple model "FIST" that is proposed to provide a basic understanding of crowd disasters, a variety of emergencies, natural conditions, the human physiological and psychological conditions in real life are simulated in laboratory. Also, a live and outside portable system using to survey and track the pedestrian behaviors is on construction in real world. The profile of the new born platform was described here in short which eventually serve for the crowd safety issues, covering the complete cycle from crowd behavior verification, test, diagnosis, failure analysis.

An expendable current profiler based on electromagnetic is introduced. Design of a current velocity sensor based on the law of electromagnetic induction is presented, after system composition and working process is introduced. The system provides a excitation signals circuit and a signal acquisition circuit with features such as high stability, high reliability, high sensitivity and high anti-interference. Comparative experiment between the system and another current profiler has been done, which confirms the accuracy of the system.

Cloud computing is a hot topic in the field of research and applications. At present, there has been a lot of attention on cloud security and storage. Two areas in the field of cloud storage are worth mentioning. First, it is the lower layer of the cloud infrastructure which supports the functions of other layers above it. Second, through the cloud infrastructure and utilization of virtualization and distributed computing techniques, resources from server clusters are made available to enhance the data redundancy factor and efficiency for document access. As huge cloud storage facility incurs operating expenses so the question rests upon how to be reasonable and efficiently manage cloud storage, let's say, in a website for shareware download. The authors propose the use of Power-law Distributions and Improved Cubic Spline Interpolation for multi-perspective analysis of shareware download frequency. The tasks include data mining the usage patterns and to build a mathematical model. Through analysis and checks, in accordance with changes to usage requirements, our proposed methods will intelligently adjust the data redundancy of cloud storage. Thus, storage resources are fine tuned and storage efficiency is greatly enhanced.

Geo-ontology provides explicit and formalized definition of shared geographic concepts, applied to aspects such as sharing and interoperating geographic information, integrating geographic information based on semantics and geographic information service. This paper adopts geo-ontology to establish logistics domain ontology so as to store abundant semantics information and represent intricate dependent relationships. At the same time this paper uses SWRL lay down domain rules, and obtains some logistic business conclusions by Jess reasoning engine. Semantics information represented by geo-ontology can automatically implement reasonable semantics extension of logistic rules and obtain more complete reasoning results, so as to realize standardization and reusability of representation of information. In the meantime, Jess reasoning engine can automatically reason out implication relationships among logistic concepts, which will liberate logistic business personnel from tedious and inefficient business.

This paper proposed a method for analyzing the static strength and dynamic behaviors of a three-stage gearing with given parameters by using FEM and the parametric optimization design of the gearing. The 3D FE model of the whole gearing is developed using unique 20 node brick elements. Then all loads are exerted on the FE model to check the static strength of the gearing. The dynamics model is established based on considering transmission error excitation and shaft compliance as main vibration-exciting facts. In order to improve the transmission performance and suppress noises and vibrations of the gearing, a structural parameter optimization method is proposed to minimize the total weight and noise level of the gearing through optimizing some main parameters of the gearing such as modules, tooth numbers and distances between axes. The optimization results are validated by simulation experiment.

The recent development of high-throughout techniques to generate large volumes of protein-protein interaction(PPI) data, which increased the need for methods that annotate the function of protein. Some methods use indirect method to predict proteins function. However, due to the nature of noise, the relationship between proteins may not be existed in truth. In this paper, we propose a method of protein function prediction in GO-evaluated PPI data set. Firstly, the original PPI data set is evaluated by protein similarity method based on GO. Secondly, we develop an algorithm, FAW, which takes into account both direct and indirect functional association, to predict the function of proteins. Our approach is evaluated on four human PPI data sets. The experimental results show our approach has good performance in terms of efficiency.

In this paper the back propagation (BP) neural network algorithm is applied to predict the traffic flow of urban road. The neuron structure needs 48 input nodes and 48 output nodes, so the frame of 48-20-48 is selected. First train an ideal input network with lower error square sum, then take the trained weight vector as initial value of the next input vector. The network training is realized by functions of adaptive learning rate and additional momentum method. The design can forecast 5-minute vehicle flow in future by the current related traffic flow and provide effective information for traffic department. The simulation by Matlab shows that the method with power learning ability and adaptability has high application value.
