Attempts to explain the “phenomenon” of the stability and unity of nature were the subject of philosophical reflections and then of natural science research. The purpose of formulated concepts was to capture and describe the mechanisms of the perceived harmony of nature, for instance, in archaic myths personifying nature or in ancient Ionian philosophy. In modern times, these ideas were expressed in the form of a principle analogous to the contemporary “energy conservation law” and “the chain of being,” and finally they were covered in Linnaeus’s work under the common name “oeconomia naturae.” These ideas were reformulated by Darwin in his theory in which he concluded that this stability and harmony can be described using the term “economy of nature.” Such an approach to natural phenomena, allowing observation of new relationships between various elements of nature, made it possible to mathematize the sciences of animate nature. Changes in the perception of nature (philosophy of nature) had their consequences in the methodology of the natural sciences. Darwin’s theory reinterprets all earlier ideas, reducing their sense to the balance between costs and benefits, losses and profits. The contents of the article focus on discussing the concepts of Linnaeus and Darwin, treating previous ideas as introduction to the actual issues.

The main purpose of this article is to discuss the basic assumptions of the analytic method in Johann Gottfried Herder’s philosophy of art and theory of sense cognition. Analytic method, along with phenomenology and historical hermeneutics, is an essential component of his innovative project of philosophical aesthetics, which is based on the assumptions of sensualist metaphysics. The goal of Herder’s phenomenology is to isolate the sensory fields on which the various types of art are founded and to grasp the essential, qualitative features of a work of art. Hermeneutics examines the context of historical and cultural conditions that have determined such and not other forms of artistic expression and the laws that govern it. Meanwhile, the analysis of aesthetic categories serves as an organizing framework for synthesizing the findings obtained through the implementation of other research methods, thus laying the foundation for the theoretical edifice of aesthetics. The reconstruction of the analytics and metaphysics of aesthetics will be preceded by a discussion of the philosophical ideas of Leibniz and Baumgarten on which Herder’s theory is based.

The research discussed Tembang Sunda Cianjuran (Cianjuran Sundanese Song) which contained a very high quality of music and was full of hidden wisdom values as a reflection of the people who created it. In a cross-generational context, transforming wisdom values was considered an educational process. The research used an anthropological approach to uncover the mystery behind the song’s structure and lyrics’ meaning and structuralism theory to interpret the meaning behind the structure. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing and studying archives of old documents in the form of audio recordings related to the Tembang Sunda Cianjuran, especially the genre of Papantunan (poetry-like). The collected data were identified, classified, then interpreted, and compiled qualitatively. The results illustrate that educational messages communicated through the lyrics of Papantunan as well as the process of transforming the values of past Sundanese’ lives into symbols, are carried out across generations. The substance of the values contained includes catur watak (four characters), which consists of education about courage (leber wawanen), faithful to promises (kukuh kana jangji), prioritizing the glory of life (medang kamulyan), and silih asih (giving each other the affection), silih asah (honing each other in intelligence or skills), and silih asuh (caring each other). All of this is packaged in the form of a pupuh poem and sung by a juru tembang accompanied by kacapi suling.

The research aimed to find anarchic aspects outside of the misconceptions circulating through the dialectic of anarchism theory and social theory. Anarchism had always been misconceived as an activity that correlated with chaos and brutality or anti-government activity. However, in reality, anarchism had various meanings in several paradigms, such as a system of criticism, a system of thought, moral values, aesthetic values, a way of life, political attitudes, and ideology for some people. The research was conducted through a literature approach and observations on the development of anarchism in Indonesia. In addition, the research aimed to see the potential of the anarchism movement that can influence the social paradigm and influence the development of alternative social movements in Indonesia. It applied a qualitative research methods and literature study as primary data. The results of the research indicate a perspective that the view of anarchism does not always contradict the concept of the state because, in the concept of anarchism, there is an idea of criticism and resistance to an oppressive social system. The social system becomes the real antithesis that can dialectic with the concept of anarchism to produce various criticisms and alternative movements that are effective for social struggles in society. In addition, the potential of anarchism on a small scale is to trigger a self-help movement to develop public awareness towards a better condition because the basic values contained in anarchism are respect for human nature as good, where freedom and morality are the basis of humanity.

The research aimed to predict a person’s intention to have a romantic relationship at work, seen from the motives (love and work) and types of policies (strict, warning, no policy) that existed in the company. Romance in the workplace was a common phenomenon in organizations, but this behavior was still considered sensitive to be investigated in Indonesia. In total, 268 Indonesian employees aged 20-40 years who worked at least six months in a company participated in the 2x3 factorial experimental vignette method, and for data analysis, it used repeated measured ANOVA. The research results have found that several types of company policies determine a person’s intention to have romance at work. The stricter the rules and the heavier the punishment, the less likely a person will engage in romance at work. However, on the motive, it is found that there is no difference between the types of motives and one’s intentions in a workplace romance. Finally, the interaction between motives and policies is not significant enough to predict a person’s intention to engage in romance at work. Therefore, it can be concluded that in Indonesia, the implementation of policies still has an essential role in reducing the negative impact of romance in the workplace. Other variables can still be included for future research to see the factors influencing a person’s intentions in workplace romance.

The research discussed social entrepreneurship that aimed to create social impacts. These impacts could be not only economic, yet cultural. Lamerenan was a social enterprise focused on Tanimbar’s tenun cloth (handwoven fabric) through community empowerment. This foundation was chosen because it encouraged the local community to preserve tradition and culture by persuading them to use traditional methods to produce the cloth. Although this foundation was categorized as a micro-small-medium enterprise (MSME) with age less than ten years old, Lamerenan had a mission to restore the quality of Tanimbar’s tenun cloth, by keeping the tradition using traditional weaving loom, which was called “Tenun Gedog Loom” or “Gedogan” and natural dyes. The research utilized the qualitative method. An in-depth interview was conducted with the founder of Lamerenan, Hiyashinta Klise, on December 2021 via Zoom meeting. Secondary data about Lamerenan and Tanimbar’s tenun cloth was collected from online news and Lamerenan’s social media (Instagram). The research finds how Lamerenan keeps the Tanimbar’s weaving tradition, culture, and women weaver community through social entrepreneurship. Furthermore, how the community returns to the traditional way, using natural dyes in producing the cloth. The result of the research is expected to bring insight into local traditions and culture that can be useful in developing empowerment in the local community.

The research aimed to examine the effect of Jesus’ communication, attitude, and action on the perception and normative behavior of Catholics. The level of interpretation and observance of the Canon Law by Catholic believers was relatively low. The Bible told about Jesus conveying His teaching by putting it down into communication, His way of having an attitude, and His example in taking action. The research was based on the cognitive-affective-conative model. Cognitive referred to knowledge or information conveyed commonly in communication, affective was related to emotion or feeling manifested in attitude, and conative was about doing or action. Normative behavior was the way people behave, taking the basis of their understanding and feeling in accordance with the Canon Law. The novelty of research on the application of the concept of consumer behavior in the life of the Church was based on the teachings of Jesus. Data collection was carried out by non-probability with purposive sampling. The questionnaires were distributed using G-form via WhatsApp, and 297 respondents participated. The data were then processed using Structural Equation Modeling with the Smart PLS 3.0 application to test the reliability, validity, and hypotheses. The results of the hypothesis test show that all are rejected. The variables of communication, attitude, action, believer’s perception, and normative behavior on the object of religion show that the theory of behavior on these variables does not support previous research.

The research aimed to explore the moderation role of challenge in the relationship between underload work and boredom at work, especially among millennial employees. As part of the current productive age and some had even occupied essential positions in the company, millennials had characteristics that were easier to get bored than other generations, which could increase millennials’ vulnerability to feeling bored at work. Therefore, a special strategy was needed to deal with boredom among millennials to maintain company productivity and psychophysical health in millennials. The research involved 327 millennials employee in Indonesia aged 23-40. Data were collected from December 2021 – January 2022 via a Google Form. The data were analyzed using simple moderation by PROCESS Hayes. The findings show that boredom can be predicted by three underload work variables: perception of underload work, the expectation of workload, and desire for the workload. The moderation role of challenge can only be found to reduce the effect of underload work perception on boredom but not on workload expectation or workload desire. Based on this result, it can be concluded that seeking challenges or adding responsibilities at work can prevent boredom among employees who perceive low workloads in their current state. As a result, organizations must provide employees with the opportunity and support to take on new challenges at work. Employees must also be proactive in seeking new challenges to avoid boredom.

The research aimed to investigate the challenges faced by university lecturers and how they overcome them, as well as the perceptions towards the implementation of a personalized learning approach. Personalized learning was considered a teaching approach that emphasized how to achieve the learning objectives, students’ active learning, and self-regulated learning that could not be fully served in traditional classes. This approach focused on each student’s learning pace and their active participation in the learning process. In the long run, implementing personalized learning was hoped to develop students into responsible and lifelong learners. Although lecturers showed an excellent perception of the implementation of personalized learning, however, it was no doubt that conducting this approach brought some new experiences and challenges for the lecturers as well. Mixed method was applied in the research. The result shows the difference between personalized learning and traditional one in terms of time management, students’ responsibilities and motivations, and class interaction, and those become the most challenging matters faced by the lecturers. How lecturers make use of technology to realize better-personalized learning classes and other crucial things that are needed by the lecturers in implementing personalized learning are also presented.
