Eportfolio is used as a concept and practice that facilitates diverse opportunities using technology to profile, reflect on, and progress career development as well as promote and engage learning [1] [2]. Reflective practice is encouraged in the milieu of academic learning, teaching, personal career development and in the professions as it closes the self-regulation ‘loop’ essential for metacognitive monitoring of learning. At our University, the Executive have been challenged when encouraging innovation, active personal learning and digital literacy whilst attempting to implement this technology into a multiple campus university environment; predominantly due to an environment filled by rapid disruptive change and uncertain government funding initiatives. The aim of this paper is to outline the changes that continue to hinder Eportfolio implementation in a multiple campus environment, share strategies we use to manage this process in our journey to promote adoption, and improve implementation through seeking and responding to feedback from the global community.

An important point of using materials in art is to explore their characteristics and possibilities, connecting them with thoughts and experiences to investigate and make sense of ideas and the world. Through art materials, artists create and narrate their own stories. This article argues that if used to b ring forth individual voices in social contexts, digital technologies can be important tools in early childhood education. Augmented Reality (AR) and Quick Response Codes (QR) are not often used in early childhood education, but have an immense potential as curatorial tools in exhibiting young children’s work. As with any other more or less traditional materials, digital media are here used for the possibilities they offer artists to explore and communicate. More than being “fancy gadgets,” materials are powerful tools to create and tell s tories. This article focuses on an art exhibition showing works by young children in a professional gallery setting, and explore uses for these digital tools in social contexts. After introducing the context for this annual exhibition as part of an early childhood center’s art program for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, this article explores potential uses of these technologies to enhance visitor experience and increase the presence and impact of the artists’ voices. The goal of using this kind of technology is set in the kind of artistic, learning, and emotional experiences its use allows and encourages for children and adult visitors. Connecting ideas and concepts from curatorial, educational, and artistic perspectives, this article offers discussions and conclusions relevant to the fields of art and early childhood education.

The rapid dissemination of ICT in the postcontemporary world is raising new challenges, namely in terms of information, knowledge and learning. An education policies movement is trying to formally address the challenges posed by educational projects that intentionally include ICT in formal learning spaces, from the design of those initiatives to the evaluation phases. In this context, a comprehensive integrative methodology seems critical to create adequate implementations and prompt meaningful results from ICT usage as a learning medium. The ik-Model presented in this article is a JP-ik framework – forged from field experience and validated in real case scenarios around the world (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Latin America) – that aims to guide and support a meaningful integration of new technologies in singular education scenarios, engaging stakeholders across the whole spectrum of the process. This model proved to be effective as a glocal approach that contextually addresses each component of an ICT integrative project for education, fulfilling the potential of ICT in terms of the enhancement of real and meaningful (learning and living) opportunities for all.

This paper analyses the use of data mining techniques in evaluating job readiness of unemployed population in Ireland. To effectively help a jobseeker to enter or return to employment, it is necessary to develop a personal plan and provide them with suitable services. This report investigates how employment and further education needs are recognized among the customers of the Irish public employment services. Following the steps of CRISPDM methodology, it explores the characteristics of the group and attempts to identify the underlying pattern. Finally, after applying suitable mining techniques, it is discussed whether the classification system with regard to job readiness can be automated.

Online learning is growing in all levels of education. Research indicates that student activity influences both learning and course satisfaction. This study examines how different combinations of student activity and knowledgeability influence the outcome of an Open University online course. The study suggests that both active and passive students, as well as students with different levels of knowledgeability in the content matter of the course, may have positive effects on online learning. The study presents four different student types on the basis of their activity and knowledgeability. Recognizing these student types and the participation patterns connected to them, may help course instructors to better understand the social dynamics within a group and to improve the outcomes of online courses.

In 2009, the Swedish government decided that entrepreneurship education is to be conducted throughout the entire public school system in Sweden. The implementation of the concept entrepreneurship is far from obvious; there is no single, unambiguous model for how to work with such an approach in schools. Earlier research has for the most part emphasized that it includes aspects like creativity and motivation for learning, but there are also scholars that stress the need for critical reflection. What happens when a concept from the business sector is brought into an educational context? The study contributes to the development of knowledge concerning how teachers perceive entrepreneurial learning and how it is enacted in practice. The study was conducted in a Swedish municipality in 2014 and involved preschools and primary schools. A stimulated recall method was adopted. The result shows that teachers’ understanding of entrepreneurial learning is connected to a) entrepreneurship, b) science and technology and c) personal development. Each school and preschool have had to do its own interpretations of what this concept entails and the understanding and interpretation of what the concept entails become dependent upon single individuals.
