Pemeriksaan Deoxyribonucleic Acid merupakan metode identifikasi primer dalam kasus forensik. Bercak darah yang ditemukan di tempat kejadian perkara seringkali terpengaruh oleh berbagai faktor lingkungan salah satunya sinar ultraviolet dari matahari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu membandingkan kuantitas dan kualitas DNA hasil ekstraksi dari bercak darah pada pisau pasca paparan sinar ultraviolet dan matahari selama 0, 15 dan 30 hari. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Faktorial; sumber sinar (UVA, sinar matahari secara langsung dan tidak langsung); dan lama perlakuan (0, 15 dan 30 hari). Bercak darah dibuat dengan diteteskan 50 ?L sampel darah manusia pada satu sisi mata pisau kemudian diberikan perlakuan. Analisis DNA meliputi ekstraksi dengan Chelex 5%; uji kuantitas dan kualitas DNA dengan spektrofotometer SimpliNano; dan uji kualitas DNA total dengan elektroforesis gel agarose; serta PCR. Analisis data kuantitif menggunakan uji Univariate yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kuantitas DNA pada sampel yang dipaparkan sinar UVA dan matahari (secara langsung) mengalami peningkatan pada hari ke-15 akibat fragmentasi DNA sedangkan sampel yang terpapar sinar matahari (secara tidak langsung) mengalami penurunan kuantitas DNA dengan semakin lamanya perlakuan. Kualitas DNA berupa kemurnian DNA menghasilkan ekstrak DNA yang tidak murni. Kualitas DNA total dengan elektroforesis gel agarose pada semua sampel menunjukkan bahwa semakin lamanya perlakuan (0, 15 dan 30 hari) menghasilkan pita pendaran DNA yang semakin redup atau tipis dengan smear.

Lalat sciarid, Bradysia ocellaris Comstock, merupakan jenis serangga hama baru pada budidaya jamur tiram di Bandung dan daerah lainnya di Jawa Barat. Berdasarkan informasi, lalat sciarid telah tersebar luas di berbagai negara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui parameter tabel hidup serangga tersebut. Parameter ini penting dalam menduga dinamika populasi serangga. Serangga B. occelaris dipelihara di laboratorium dengan menggunakan media jamur tiram sebagai pakannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju intrinsik peningkatan populasi () 0, 157, laju reproduksi bersih () 23 individu/generasi dan waktu generasi rata-rata (T), 20,5 hari. Informasi ini penting untuk melihat kemampuan reproduksi serangga hama dalam waktu tiga minggu.

Staphylococcus aureus dikenal sebagai bakteri yang kerap kali menyebabkan penyakit akibat infeksi pada saluran pernafasan di Indonesia. Bakteri ini diketahui telah mengalami resistensi terhadap beberapa antibiotik. Resistensi S. aureus dapat ditanggulangi dengan mengembangkan antibiotik alami salah satunya yang berasal dari tumbuhan ketapang. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini ialah untuk menganalisa perbandingan aktivitas antibakteri esktrak etanol daun ketapang merah dan daun ketapang cokelat terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri S.aureus, mengetahui MIC dari kedua ekstrak, serta mengetahui golongan senyawa pada ekstrak. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi ekstraksi sampel dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak dilakukan pada konsentrasi 20%, 15%,10%, dan 5% (b/v) dengan metode cakram difusi pada media Nutrient Agar, serta dilakukan uji fitokimia secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan perbedaan warna daun mempengaruhi daya hambat terhadap bakteri S.aureus. Daya hambat terbaik diperoleh pada ekstrak ketapang merah konsentrasi 20% (b/v) dengan diameter zona hambat 13,67±0,76 mm. Hasil pengujian MIC menunjukan nilai MIC ekstrak ketapang merah diperoleh pada konsentrasi 5% (b/v) dengan daya hambat 1,47±0,25 mm dan pada ekstrak daun ketapang cokelat diperoleh pada konsentrasi 10% (b/v) dengan nilai diameter zona hambat 1,73±0,25 mm. Uji fitokimia ekstrak menunjukan kedua ekstrak mengandung senyawa steroid, alkaloid, tannin, saponin, dan flavonoid namun senyawa terpenoid hanya ditemukan pada ekstrak daun ketapang merah. Body mask is one of the cosmetic preparations used in the last process in skin care. Skin care, especially on the skin of the body, requires moisturizing cosmetics. Therefore it is necessary to take care to keep the skin clean and healthy, one of the skin care is with a body mask. Body mask have many benefits, namely providing moisture, tightening the skin, nourishing the skin, softening the skin, cleaning pores and brightening skin tone. One of the natural ingredients that can be used for skin care is gotu kola leaf (Centella asiatica L.). Gotu kola extract has one of the ingredients, namely asiaticoside, which can stimulate collagen in skin tissue. The purpose of this study was to determine the phytochemical content of Gotu kola leaves, to determine the formulation of a good gotu kola leaf powder mask preparation, and to find out the best formulation according to probandus. The methods used in this research are phytochemical test, making body mask, pH test, organoleptic test, and hedonic test. The results of the research that has been carried out are the phytochemical tests of steroids, saponins, flavonoids, and tannins obtained positive results. The quality of the body mask produced is pH 5.41, and does not cause skin irritation. Organoleptic test of fine texture, green tea scent, greenish white color. The formulation body mask most preferred by probandus is to use a base with added 45 g (F2) of gotu kola leaf powder. Keywords: Body mask, gotu kola leaves (Centella asiatica L.), skin care.

Nanobubbles (NBs), nanotechnology has been applied in several fields, such as health, waste management, agriculture, and others. This nanotechnology utilizes the gas in the bubbles, making it easier for the gas to enter the cell. This study aimed to determine the effect of O2, CO2, N2, H2, and O3 gases in NBs on the growth of the Dendrobium Imelda Marina Masagung ´ Bumi Menangis orchid. The method used was to provide fertilizer and NBs treatment to Dendrobium orchids for six weeks with observations every one week. The data obtained were analyzed by two-way ANOVA and further tested post hoc tests with Ptukey <0.05. The results showed significant differences in stem diameter and orchid plant height. The orchid stem diameter was more significant with the NBs treatment than the fertilizer and control treatments. Orchid plants with NBs treatment were higher than those with fertilizer and control treatments. The appearance of new shoots and roots also indicates plant growth. Orchid leaf colour with fertilizer and NBs treatment changed from the Yellow-Green Group (144) to the Green Group (143), except for the control. Leaves colour affects the process of photosynthesis, the green colour will carry out photosynthesis better than Green-Yellow leaves. This affects plant growth in Dendrobium Imelda Marina Masagung ´ Bumi Menangis orchid. NBs enlarge the stem, increase the height and make the leaves green.

Natural ingredients are widely used as an alternative to chemical drugs to resolve health problems currently. One herbal plant that is often used for its benefits is the clove plant. The use of clove plants as herbal medicines has been known in Indonesia. In addition, the clove plant is also used as a mixture of several herbal drinks that are claimed to the rich-antioxidants drinks. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of toxicity of the clove stem, and to identify the antioxidant activity contained in the clove stem. The method used in this study was the Brine Shrimp Test (BST) to test the toxicity of clove stem extract by determining the LC50 value. In the antioxidant test, the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method was used, and the absorbance was measured by spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517 nm to determine the IC50 value of the clove stem. The results of this study indicate that the clove stem extract has a strong level of toxicity with an LC50 value of 56.3 ppm, and a strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 63.5 ?g/mL.

One herbal plant that is often used for its benefits is the clove plant. The use of clove plants as herbal medicines has been known in Indonesia. In addition, the clove plant is also used as a mixture of several herbal drinks that are claimed to the rich-antioxidants drinks. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of toxicity of the clove stem, and to identify the antioxidant activity contained in the clove stem. The method used in this study was the Brine Shrimp Test (BST) to test the toxicity of clove stem extract by determining the LC50 value. In the antioxidant test, the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method was used, and the absorbance was measured by spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517 nm to determine the IC50 value of the clove stem.
