“How Do I Stop Checking Things?” Understanding Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder from Neuropsychological Perspective “我如何停止查看东西?”从神经心理学的角度理解强迫症

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is the fourth most common mental disorder and WHO classifies it as one of the ten most disabling medical conditions. OCD patients have difficulty in controlling the disturbing thoughts accompanied by ritualistic behavior performed by the patient as a way to reduce anxiety or fear that leads to distress and significant dysfunction in their everyday life. Studies using neuroimaging techniques indicated a number of abnormal functions in the orbitofrontal cortex and caudate nuclei in OCD patients. Abnormalities in one or more neurotransmitters such as serotonin, glutamate, GABA, and dopamine were also found to be associated with the mechanism of the brain circuitry associated with OCD symptoms. Genetic factors were proven to also contribute considerably to OCD. This article is a literature study on OCD, especially from a neuropsychological perspective highlighting the recent development of various techniques and methods of study.

Berpikir Kritis: Mendorong Introduksi dan Reformulasi Konsep dalam Psikologi Islam 思想批评家:推动伊斯兰心理学·全球之声概念的引入与改造

Islam once triumphed as a great civilization with two main characteristics: an appreciation of science as well as submission to the value of Tawheed. Unfortunately, at present these characteristics seem not to belong to Islam. Various measurement data show that Muslim-dominated countries such as Indonesia, have low values in higher-order thinking skills such as creative thinking and problem-solving. As a solution effort, this paper attempts to reintroduce the concept of critical thinking in the body of the current Muslim community. The effort begins by showing how important critical thinking is in Islam, the relevance of Islam and critical thinking and the adaptation of current research in the frame of Islamic Psychology. The main implication of this paper is the importance of seeing the significance of all researchers, both Muslim researchers and outside Muslims, in the process of Islamizing the concept.

Stimulus Gambar: Sebuah Kajian pada Instrumen Minat Vokasional 图像刺激:职业铸币仪器测试

Vocational interest instruments are mostly based on verbal stimuli which require subjects’ reading ability. Another form of stimuli is needed for the populations that have reading difficulty. This article offers an explanation of using pictures as stimuli in the development of an instrument to assess adolescents’ vocational interest as well as the steps in developing pictorial stimuli. Compared to verbal, pictorial stimuli are closer to real life and have supporting information related to the activities. However, some limitation in using pictorial stimuli such as difficulty in describing hardly observable behavior and ambiguity of the pictures that can affect individual interpretation need to be considered.

“Cool” dan “Hot” Brain Executive Functioning dan Perfomansi Akademik Siswa “酷”和“热”大脑执行任务和学生行为

The study of literature was to aim exploring role of cool and hot executive functions (EF) on academic performance. It was consist of (a) what are they; (b) developmental hot and cool EF; and (c) The dynamic of hot and cool EF toward academic performance. This study of literature explores a distinction (and relationship, too) made within this general domain that has emerged only recently in the theoretical and empirical literature: cool and hot executive function. Cool executive functions were related as cognitive tasks (working memory, cognitive flexibility, inhibition control), and hot executive functions were related as emotion tasks (motivation, affective decision making, behavior). Both of them played an important role in academic performance. Implication of literatures study should be useful for teaching strategy in classroom. Teachers need to create good atmosphere, in particular to stimulate positive emotions for learners

Entrepreneurship plays an important role for the national economic growth. Therefore, the chararacter development, the way of thinking, and entrepreneurial skills within community are things that should be sought. Consequently, the effective entrepreneurship learning methods are needed, specifically kind of method that based on adult learning approach. This article seeks to bring the study of digital games technology as an entrepreneurial learning media. Hence, the description of the characteristics of games and learning aspects that can be facilitated by digital games technology will be mainly discussed. In addition, this article describes the learning process through digital media, instructional techniques that can be integrated in digital media, and assessment feedback method in academic games learning. Some examples of digital games used for learning in entrepreneur­ship courses are presented to provide a concrete picture. In brief, this article supports the use of digital games technology in entrepreneurial learning.

Menggunakan Studi Kasus sebagai Metode Ilmiah dalam Psikologi 将案例研究作为心理学的一种方法

As a research method, case studies are often used in qualitative research, but there is no agreement on research procedures. Case studies have been widely used in psychology, which is not only used in the context of research but it has different meanings. The purpose of this article is to provide a description of the case study as a research method, by providing an overview of the procedures for conducting research which includes when case studies can be used, research design, data collection, data validity, and data analysis. This article seeks to help emerging researchers in the field of psychology with several views from Robert Yin and Robert Stake. This article helps researchers to familiarize themselves with the procedures of qualitative research using case studies. A case study approach that is applied correctly can be a valuable method for conducting research, especially in the field of psychology as a means of developing theory, evaluating programs, developing interventions.

Bullying di Tempat Kerja di Indonesia 印尼职场欺凌

 Workplace bullying is one of organizational phenomenon that has received a lot of attention from many parties, both academics and practitioners. The workplace bullying is like an iceberg phenomenon. It is exist but hard to be revealed and lifted to the surface. This phenomenon can be seen as practically and methodologically point of view. Practically, it is caused by passivity and silent act from the victim or bullying eyewitnesses, and methodologically, it hasn’t found the standard concept of workplace bullying which causing lack of workplace bullying research. In this article, the author try to review the workplace bullying’s concepts and constructs, starting by reviewing the problem of definition, including type, frequency, & duration of bullying actions, and considering the role of workplace cultural values and norms in influencing the perception of bullying behavior.

Perbandingan Inferensi Kausal Versi Donald Campbell dengan Donald Rubin 唐纳德·坎贝尔版本的考萨尔推理与唐纳德·鲁宾的比较

In a psychological experiment the manipulation of independent variable is deliberatelyintroduced to observe its effects on the dependent variable. The cause-effect relationshipthen is infered. This article explained briefly two models of causal inferences. One modeldeveloped by Donald Campbell are more focused on design elements in ruling out threats tovalidity. On the other hand, Rubin’s model of causal inference emphasized in mathematicalprecision of the causal effects. The comparison of the two different but complementarymodels involves both randomized experiment and observational study.

Body Shame dan Gangguan Makan Kajian Meta-Analisis

The number of person with eating disorders is increasing almost all over the world. The exact cause of an eating disorder is difficult to determine. The feeling of shame caused by negative judgments on one’s body has a positive correlation to the emergence of pathological eating behavior. Furthermore, the position of body shame as a variable in research on eating disorders is still inconsistent in some studies, consequently, it is placed as a mediating variable to self-objectification. This study attempted to see whether there is a direct correlation between body shame and eating disorders using meta-analysis procedure. The analysis of sampling error and measurement error made on 34 studies from 21 articles. The result of the analysis showed that body shame and eating disorder are strongly correlated (r=0.547) with α = 0.05.

Kontrol Diri dan Agresi : Tinjauan Meta-Analisis 自我控制与攻击:Meta分析综述

Aggression brings adverse effects on individuals and the environment, and often developsinto social problems. This meta-analysis study aimed to find out the correlation between self-control and aggression. The used samples based on 18 primary studies from 10 onlinejournals published in 2002 - 2017 which is found by searching on online database journal viawww.lib.ugm.ac.id. Two artifacts allowed for correction in these study are sampling errorand measurement error. The results of the analysis provided support for the hypothesis thatself-control had a negative correlation to aggression, therefore self-control inhibits the emerge of aggression behavior.
