FDTD Study of an UWB Radar Technique for Breast Tumor Detection 超宽带雷达乳腺肿瘤检测技术的FDTD研究

A finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is applied to investigate capabilities of an ultra-wide band (UWB) radar system to detect a breast tumor. The first part of the investigations concerns FDTD simulations of a phantom formed by a plastic container with liquid and a small reflecting target. The second part focuses on a three-dimensional numerical breast model with a small tumor. FDTD simulations are carried out assuming a planar incident wave. Various time snap shots of the electromagnetic field are recorded to learn about the physical phenomenon of reflection and scattering in different layers of the phantom.

Project Safespot (Smart Vehicles on Smart Roads) 安全点项目(智能道路上的智能车辆)

The key aspect of the project is to expand the time horizon for acquiring safely relevant information for driving, as well as to improve the precision, the reliability and the quality of driver information, and to introduce new information sources. One of the main aims of SAFESPOT is to develop a "safety margin assistant" which will extend "in space and time" the safety information available to drivers by: (1) using both the infrastructure and vehicles as sources (and destinations) of safety-related information, and definition of an open, flexible and modular communications architecture; (2) developing the key enabling technologies: accurate relative localisation, ad-hoc dynamic networking, dynamic local traffic maps; (3) developing a new generation of infrastructure-based sensing techniques; (4) testing scenario-based applications to evaluate the impacts and end-user acceptability; (5) defining the practical implementation of such systems, especially in the interim period when not all vehicles will be equipped; (6) evaluating the liability aspects, regulations and standardization issues which can affect implementation: involvement of public authorities from the early stages will be a key factor for future deployment.

Frequency-Dependent Distortions of Pulses in the Traveling-Wave Cathode-Ray Tubes 行波阴极射线管中脉冲的频率畸变

Helical and meander slow-wave structures are used for deflection of the electron beam in the traveling-wave cathode-ray tubes for the super-wide-band electronic oscilloscopes. The deflecting electromagnetic field in the systems has surface character. For this reason the frequency-dependent distortions of signals arise during the deflection of the beam. The transient responses of the tubes are considered in order to reveal opportunities to reduce frequency-dependent distortions.

Comparison of Theoretically Simulated and Experimental Scattering Matrix Parameters in a Five Port Transmission Line Frequency Multiplexer for Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Techniques 固体核磁共振技术中五端口传输线倍频器散射矩阵参数的理论模拟与实验比较

Radio frequency (abbr.: RF) techniques constitute a very useful tool in studies on biologic and chemical systems, therefore it is employed in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (abbr.: NMR) techniques. In order to make use of it, there is a need of designing and modelling of NMR probes. These NMR probes exemplify single-or multi-port radio frequency multiplexers. The NMR probe undergoing analysis is comprised of an impedance tuned and matched coaxial transmission line network terminated with a single sample coil, and multiple RF input-output connections adapted to 50 Ohm standard by means of tuning and matching capacitors. The comparison of scattering matrix elements S(i,i) (reflection coefficients) of both theoretically simulated and constructed a five channel transmission line frequency multiplexer probe of J.Schaefer & R.McKay type is presented. The S-matrix transmission coefficients: S(i,j), ine j, are presented for a "real" multiplexer only, due to the importance of the real NMR probe performance. So called calibration spectra obtained with the multiplexer probe are shown as well.

Laptop Structure Effects on an Integrated Omnidirectional Wrapped Microstrip Antenna 笔记本电脑结构对集成全向包覆微带天线的影响

In this paper the effects of a laptop structure on an ISM 2.4 GHz Omnidirectional Wrapped Microstrip Antenna (OWMA) are studied. The antenna parameters are evaluated both with numerical simulations and experimentally. In the experimental setup a real commercial laptop has been used. It is shown that the antenna input impedance is not affected by the presence of the keyboard structure, however, the antenna radiation pattern is significantly affected. The omnidirectionallity of the radiation pattern is strongly disturbed in the front hemisphere of the screen, while in the back hemisphere it remains quasi-omnidirectional.

Improved compact low-profile quadband planar monopole antenna for mobile handsets 改进的紧凑型低轮廓四波段平面单极天线,用于移动电话

A compact internal planar monopole antenna capable of multiband operation of mobile handsets is presented. The antenna has a very low profile and covers GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900 and UMTS2050 bands. The two operating modes of the proposed antenna are associated with various length of two monopoles, in which the shorter monopole is resonating as a quarter-wavelength structure and the longer one resonating as both a quarter-wavelength and a half-wavelength structure. The radiator of the proposed antenna is embedded in dielectric medium to improve its characteristics.

This paper describes problems related to verification process of communication system design and SoC with communication components; demonstrates approach of harmonic balance co-simulation with digital and behavioral models. Present paper considers applicable simulation technique for analogue high frequency circuits -harmonic balance (HB) and way to connect it to digital subsystem models for purposes of end-to-end simulation and verification of digital data link.

Ultra Wideband Wireless Communication on the Base of Noise Technology 基于噪声技术的超宽带无线通信

The process of ultra wideband (UWB) data transmission on the base of noise continuous waveforms is considered. The new method of code spectral modulation is proposed for data insertion onto noise continuous carrier. The spectral compression of received ultra wideband waveforms is performed by means of double spectral processing. Experimental results of quadrature correlation measurements in 3.1-4.1 GHz frequency range with successive selection of transmitting data are discussed.

Cooperative Intra-cell Spectrum Reuse Method for OFDMA-based Multiple Access Systems 基于ofdma的多址系统小区内频谱协同复用方法

Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) is a technique gaining momentum due to recent standardization work of IEEE 802.16. In this article the problem of radio resource management for OFDMA systems is addressed with particular focus on methods for intra-cell spectrum reuse by the application of embedded modulation. Recently proposed techniques for radio resource distribution (subcarrier allocation, bit loading, and transmit power control) among multiple users according to their individual QoS requirements are discussed and performance results are compared.
