AbstrakSalah satu cara untuk mengembangkan kosakata tanpa menciptakan kata baru adalah dengan membuat kata yang sudah ada menjadi polisemi. Penelitian kecil ini bertujuan untuk mengamati peran metafora dan metonimi dalam pembentukan makna kata. Data penelitian ini diambil dari kamus Van Dale Pocketwoordenboek [Nederlands als Tweede Taal] (2003) dan dibatasi pada entri nomina. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan mengamati nomina konkret yang berpolisemi dan menentukan apakah makna baru disebabkan oleh metafora atau metonimi. Acuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Knowles Moon (2006) dan Kövecses (2010). Temuan penelitian ini adalah kata bougie ‘spark plug', rooster ‘jadwal’, and tak ‘cabang' dibentuk oleh metafora, kata glas ‘gelas’, doek ‘kain’ dibentuk oleh metonimi, dan kata apotheek ‘apotek’ dibentuk oleh metafora dan juga metonimi.Kata kunci: kamus, metafora, metonimi, polisemi. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan penelusuran apa saja oronim pegunungan dan bagaimana asal mula terbentuknya oronim pegunungan di kawasan Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode dari Sudaryanto (2015 : 201-203) dan Lauder (1990: 66-67), yaitu teknik simak libat cakap, teknik rekam, teknik catat, mengumpulkan keterangan-keterangan lain yang tidak tercatat dalam panduan wawancara yang diperkirakan dapat melengkapi bahan, seperti mitos, legenda, dan cerita rakyat, serta menelusuri data tambahan seperti pemetaan dan perkamusan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 61 Oronim di Kawasan tersebut dan 16 diantaranya dijelaskan dalam penelitian ini, Bahasa Jawa dialek Tengger merupakan Bahasa yang digunakan oleh masyarakat Tengger yang digunakan untuk sehari-hari, penelusuran melalui peta diakronik wilayah Jawa Timur menghasilkan perubahan penulisan yang merupakan hal yang paling ditekankan dalam penelitian Toponimi, dan masyarakat Tengger memaknai nama gunung berdasarkan bentuk gunung yang menyerupai suatu benda, berdasarkan apa yang diceritakan oleh leluhur mereka, dan berdasarkan hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan spiritual mereka.Kata Kunci: etimologi, toponimi, oronim, semantik AbstractThis study aims to investigate what mountain oronyms are and how the formation of mountainous oronyms in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area. AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji konsep Piil Pesenggiri yang terkandung dalam wawancan masyarakat Lampung Saibatin. Piil Pesenggiri dapat diartikan sebagai keharusan hidup bermoral tinggi, berjiwa besar, tahu diri dan kewajiban. Piil Pesenggiri merupakan falsafah hidup masyarakat adat Lampung yang dijadikan landasan sikap dan perilaku masyarakat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Sikap dan perilaku tersebut dapat ditunjukkan melalui sastra lisan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini berusaha untuk menunjukkan teks wawancan yang mencerminkan konsepsi piil pesenggiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan proses wawancara, dan pendokumentasian tuturan. Selanjutnya data diolah dan dianalisis sehingga dapat terungkap hasil penelitian. Secara umum hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya empat konsep piil pesenggiri dalam teks wawancan. AbstrakIssue terkait dengan kesepadan masih menimbulkan perdebatan tetapi juga menjadi masalah yang penting dalam kajian terjemahan. Kesepadanan masih menjadi landasan penting dalam pengembangan model pengukuran kualitas terjemahan. Artikel ini akan berusaha menjelaskan kesepadanan pragmatik yang dicapai dalam penerjemahan tuturan satire. Selain itu, artikel ini juga akan menunjukkan frekuensi kesepadanan pargmatik yang dicapai oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan tuturan satire pada novel animal farm dan terjemahannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga jenis kesepadanan pragmatik yang dicapai oleh penerjamah yaitu kesepadanan ilokusi, implikatur dan jarak relevansi. Kesepadanan yang dihasilkan penerjemah dalam penerjemahan tuturan satire dapat menunjukkan keberhasilan penerjemah dalam mengalihkan pesan satire.Kata Kunci: Penerjemahan, Kesepadanan, Pragmatik, Satire. AbstractThe issues related to equivalence are still debatable but it has also become an important issue in translation studies. Equivalence is still significant as the basis of development in assessing the translation quality model. This article will attempt to explain the pragmatic equivalence achieved in translating satirical utterances. Besides, this article will also show the frequency of pragmatic equivalences achieved by translators in translating satirical utterances in Animal Farm novels and their translations. AbstractThe issues related to equivalence are still debatable but it has also become an important issue in translation studies. Equivalence is still significant as the basis of development in assessing the translation quality model. This article will attempt to explain the pragmatic equivalence achieved in translating satirical utterances. Besides, this article will also show the frequency of pragmatic equivalences achieved by translators in translating satirical utterances in Animal Farm novels and their translations. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dimana untuk memahami fenomena tentang apa yang dialami oleh subjek penelitian terkait dengan kemampuan abstak sisecara holistic dan dengan cara deskriptif dalam bentuk kata-kata dan bahasa, pada suatu konteks khusus yang alamiah dan dengan memanfaatkan berbagai metode ilmiah. The result of this research shows that the type of speech act that are commonly used by the mystical services are commissive speech act and directive speech act. AbstrakToponimi adalah ilmu yang mempunyai obyek studi tentang penamaan rupabumi. Unsur rupabumi yang menjadi perhatian dalam penelitian ini adalah Gunung Semeru (3.676 mdpl). Data diperoleh berdasarkan pemetaan ekspedisi sejak abad ke-19 untuk memperhatikan perubahan nama gunung, perkamusan untuk menelusuri makna nama gunung, dan data pendukung lain seperti tradisi lisan maupun sejarahHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa toponim Semeru sudah ada sejak abad ke-19 dalam peta ekspedisi Belanda. Pada temuan selanjutnya bahwa toponim Semeru pada proses semiosis pertama menandakan konsep budaya yang tertanam dalam pikiran masyarakat bahwa Gunung Semeru merupakan ancaman, proses semiosis kedua menandakan konsep budaya yang menamakan dataran tinggi dengan bahasa Jawa berdasarkan bentuknya, yaitu Gumuk, Redi, dan Wukir. The topographical element of concern in this study is Mount Semeru (3,676 masl). Data is obtained based on expedition mapping since the 19th century to pay attention to changes in mountain names, forecasting to trace the meaning of mountain names, and other supporting data such as oral traditions and history. The results showed that Semeru toponym had been around since the 19th century on a map of the Dutch expedition. In subsequent findings that Semeru toponym in the first semiosis process signifies a cultural concept embedded in the mind of the community that Mount Semeru is a threat, the second semiosis process signifies a cultural concept that calls the plateau with Javanese based on its form, Gumuk, Redi, and Wukir. Pada temuan selanjutnya bahwa toponim Semeru pada proses semiosis pertama menandakan konsep budaya yang tertanam dalam pikiran masyarakat bahwa Gunung Semeru merupakan ancaman, proses semiosis kedua menandakan konsep budaya yang menamakan dataran tinggi dengan bahasa Jawa berdasarkan bentuknya, yaitu Gumuk, Redi, dan Wukir. Proses semiosis tersebut diturunkan lagi ke dalam dua interpretasi, yakni toponim Semeru yang berkaitan dengan agama.Kata Kunci: etimologi, semeru, semiosis, toponimi AbstractToponymy is the science that has the object of study about topographical naming. The topographical element of concern in this study is Mount Semeru (3,676 masl). Data is obtained based on expedition mapping since the 19th century to pay attention to changes in mountain names, forecasting to trace the meaning of mountain names, and other supporting data such as oral traditions and history. The results showed that Semeru toponym had been around since the 19th century on a map of the Dutch expedition. In subsequent findings that Semeru toponym in the first semiosis process signifies a cultural concept embedded in the mind of the community that Mount Semeru is a threat, the second semiosis process signifies a cultural concept that calls the plateau with Javanese based on its form, Gumuk, Redi, and Wukir.
