During the process of hospitalization of the illness, patients can experience various incidents or treatments which according to various studies are very traumatic and stressful. This study aimed to explain the effect of Rational Emotive Therapy (RET) on the level of anxiety in chronic disease patients. The research design used a quasi-experiment pre-post control group design. The sample of this study was 10 patients with chronic diseases in the age range of 30–50 years using purposive sampling techniques in taking the subject of the study. The results of the experiment showed that there was no real difference in anxiety before and after RET. The experimental group showed Asymp (asymptotic significance). A significance of 0,046 (p < 0.05) means there was a real difference in anxieties before and after RET. The Mann-Whitney test results obtained an asymp (asymptotic significance) of 0.042 (p< 0.05). This indicates that there were real differences in both groups (control and experiment) after treatment. While the Mann-Whitney trial results received an asymptotic significance of 0,549 (p > 0.05), that means there were no significant differences between the two groups (control and experimental) before treatment. It can be concluded that rational-emotional therapy can lower the level of anxiety of chronic disease patients.

One of the goals of guidance and counseling in elementary schools is to develop and improve students' academic abilities to achieve maximum learning abilities. Collaborative guidance to increase motivation to read is very rare in schools, especially in elementary schools where class teachers handle many subjects. Guidance services in elementary schools can be integrated into thematic learning activities. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of collaborative guidance services between Guidance and Counseling teachers and Indonesian Language teachers to increase students' reading motivation. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method with a quasi-experimental research design with the CORI (Concept-Oriented Reading Instruction) program. The results of the study showed that collaborative guidance between counseling teachers and Indonesian teachers was effective in increasing elementary school students' reading motivation. Research is suggested for elementary school guidance and counseling teachers to collaborate with subject teachers as an effort to optimize guidance and counseling services. Indonesian teachers can provide input for guidance and counseling services in the classroom. For future researchers, it can increase reading variety, reading exploration time and the application of collaborative guidance to increase reading motivation.

This study employed a qualitative approach in the form of a case study to examine the process of self-disclosure among students and its influence on stress levels during their thesis completion. The research focused on 10 individual students, aiming to gain a deep understanding of their experiences, thoughts, feelings, and desires. Structured and in-depth interviews were conducted, along with non-participant observation techniques. The study found that self-disclosure played a significant role in students' stress levels, with stress and depression being predominant emotions due to various factors such as academic pressure and personal issues. The Johari Window model, which emphasizes the importance of self-disclosure in interpersonal relationships, provided a theoretical foundation for understanding the responses and reactions of students. Individual counseling was also explored as a supportive process for students, allowing them to enhance self-understanding and resolve problems. The findings highlight the significance of self-disclosure in fostering healthier interactions and creating a positive academic environment. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of self-disclosure and its implications for student well-being and academic success.

This study explores the relationship between the democratic parenting style and emotional intelligence in teenagers whose parents are divorced, focusing on a specific population in the Wainitu region of Ambon City, Maluku. Utilizing a Pearson's product-moment correlation, the research findings indicate a significant positive correlation between democratic parenting and emotional intelligence with a correlation coefficient of 0.314 (p < 0.05). The data suggests that effective democratic parenting contributes to approximately 9.85% of the quality of emotional intelligence among these teenagers. The study concludes that while other factors can impact emotional intelligence, a democratic parenting style is a vital contributing element, underscoring the importance of the family as the primary context for character formation. However, the study also acknowledges the complexities of emotional development in children from divorced families, emphasizing the need for further research in this area, including exploration of other parenting styles. The results provide valuable insights for families, educators, and policymakers in supporting emotional intelligence development in teenagers from divorced families.

This study delves deeply into the intricate association between perceived gender roles and career selection among students in the twelfth grade at MAN 2 Bantul. It utilizes a sophisticated correlational research design to draw precise and nuanced conclusions about the intricate dynamics between these two constructs. The analytic method employed was a product-moment correlation, which robustly demonstrated the existence of a significant and strong positive relationship between gender perceptions and career choices. The study also unearthed an intricate web of influential factors, with social support from family, teachers, and peers being pivotal in shaping students' career decision-making trajectories. Additionally, our findings provide substantial evidence suggesting a negative correlation between perceived parental and teacher support and the complexity of career decision-making. Conversely, we observed a positive correlation between the frequency of classmate and close friend social support and career decision-making difficulties. This research enhances our understanding of gender as a socially constructed concept deeply entwined with cultural roles, shaping the trajectory of career choices. It also underscores the profound influence of societal norms and perceptions regarding gender roles on students' career preferences. This influence signifies the necessity of further research into the subtle ways these perceptions may shape or restrict career aspirations. It is evident that guidance and counseling services have a pivotal role in helping students navigate the often complex and challenging landscape of career decisions. They are also instrumental in providing students with the necessary understanding to identify and challenge prevailing gender perceptions that may inadvertently impact their career decisions. Therefore, the results obtained from this research highlight the pressing need for an educational environment that is both cognizant and inclusive of the various gender perceptions in existence and their potential impacts on career decisions. This is crucial in ensuring informed guidance, fostering student self-efficacy, and empowering students in their journey of selecting and navigating their respective career paths effectively.

This article explores the potential of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in group counseling to enhance career maturity and informed decision-making among students. The concept of career maturity, defined as an individual's readiness and capability to make informed career decisions, is crucial in guiding students through the career decision-making process. Career guidance programs have been recognized as instrumental in fostering career maturity and informed decision-making. The integration of CBT in group counseling has been proposed as an effective approach to enhance career maturity. This systematic literature review examined various sources to gather empirical evidence and theoretical perspectives on the topic. The findings indicate that CBT-based group counseling sessions significantly improve students' career maturity and decision-making skills. The cognitive restructuring process inherent in CBT helps students challenge negative thoughts and develop confidence in their career decisions. The supportive environment of group counseling encourages interaction and mutual learning among participants. Despite promising results, the study acknowledges limitations, such as reliance on self-reported measures. It recommends further research to explore long-term effects and encourages educational institutions and career counselors to incorporate CBT-based group counseling sessions into their programs. The article contributes to the expanding body of knowledge on CBT's role in enhancing career maturity and decision-making and provides insights for educators, counselors, and researchers in this field.
