The special relationship between the great historian and patriot Nicolae Iorga and the 9th Hunters Regiment was founded on two elements, both of a subjective nature; 1. the high regard in which the historian duly held officer Gheorghe Rasoviceanu, battalion commander and subsequently commander of the 9th Hunters Regiment for five years, from October, 7th 1916 to October 7th 1921; 2. the presence of his son, Petre Iorga, and his sonin-law, officer Dimitrie Chirescu, future general (married to Florica Iorga) in the 9th Hunters Regiment. We find Second Lieutenant Petre N. Iorga in the Regiment, as Head of the Intelligence Office from June 16th 1917, taking part in the great battle of Mărășești, Muncelu and Poienile Popii (July-August 1917) and captain Dimitrie Chirescu from August 15th 1916 and the autumn of 1919. It was only natural then for the great historian to take such an interest in the Regiment and to nervously and eagerly follow its development throughout this period.

"On January 31, 2021, the municipality of Buzău celebrated 590 years since the first definite documentary attestation, however, as an ancient human habitation, Buzău is archaeologically attested since the Neolithic, the archaic habitation evolving as a settlement, fairground, town and municipality. There are four main pillars that characterized the life of the people here: the constancy of living, also proven by the practice of agriculture; the foundation of the Orthodox faith; the fight for the defense of the lands inherited from the ancestors for centuries; and the economic valorization of the strategic location at the intersection of the roads connecting the four Romanian provinces. The document issued by the ruler Dan II on January 31, 1431 is, for now, the first known documentary attestation of Buzău, at that time with the status of a fairground."

As several generations of politicians successively acted as leaders of the Romanian National Party (PNR) in Transylvania, particularly the tribunists (1884-1892) and the new activists or “steel-hardened young men” (1903-1914), the economic, cultural, and political life of Romanians in Transylvania became more similar to that of Romanians in the Kingdom of Romania. From an economic perspective, both theorists in Transylvania and Romania were fostering the idea of a liberal “Ourselves alone” doctrine after 1900. Economic policies were established based on the resolutions adopted following the proceedings of the Economic Congresses in Iași, between 1882 and 1884. Fundamental assumptions were derived from banking and financial arguments based on the numerous and meaningful business relationships established between the National Bank of Romania and the Solidaritatea Banking Union in Sibiu, comprising almost all the Romanian banks in Transylvania.

Through his activity, Tudor Vladimirescu left a strong impression on his contemporaries from Buzau and their descendants. Because they were at the crossroads connecting Muntenia, Moldova, Transylvania and Dobrogea, the people of Buzau suffered deeply from the chaotic confrontations between Arnauts, Etherists and Turks. However, aware of the importance of the ideas promoted by Theodor from Vladimiri, beyond the immediate failure of these principles, the inhabitants of Buzău honored the great hero, attributing his name to schools and boulevards, mentioning him in official historical speeches and popular ballads. Pandurul Gheorghilaş, who became an outlaw, continued the spirit of actions covered by the need for justice and fairness of Tudor Vladimirescu's social program, in the mountain area of Buzău county.

Nicolae Iorga was endowed with outstanding intellectual qualities. It has carried out an intense activity on multiple levels: university professor, historian, head of institutes, newspapers and magazines. At the same time, he was an important political leader: party chief, deputy, senator, prime minister of Romania. Being a universal Romanian, he benefited from a wide international recognition: doctor Honoris Causa of several Universities around the world, vice president of the International Committee of Historians etc.

This year, 2021, marks the 200th anniversary of the revolution led by Tudor Vladimirescu. It also commemorates two centuries since his assassination. To evoke the formation of Tudor Vladimirescu, I used a little-known document - the moral testament of the master (jupan) Gheorghe Duncea. The act is important because he knew the bailiff Tudor Vladimirescu throughout his life, from childhood to death. This document specified the year of Tudor's birth, the place of birth, the way he learned to read and write, his connection with Horia from Albac, the leader of the Transylvanian peasant uprising of 1784, the reception of the first small boyars ranks, his training as a soldier in the Russian army during the Russo-Turkish war between 1806-1812. Then the Russian generals appreciated him, and the tsar decorated him with the Order of St. Vladimir, gave him a ring and promoted him to the military rank of lieutenant (parucic). After the war, between June and December 1814 he went to Vienna to solve the affairs of the late Elenco Glogoveanu. Then he met the atmosphere of the capital of the Habsburg Empire. His main goal was to fight for the removal of the Greeks from the leadership of Wallachia and eventually Moldova. He arrived in Bucharest again in November 1820. Then he contacted the great boyars who ruled the country. The Greek hospodar of Wallachia Alexandru Suţu was old and ill. On January 15/27, 1821, Alexandru Suţu died. Three of the great boyars, members of the Filiki Eteria, Grigore Brâncoveanu, Ghica, Văcărescu, asked him to start the revolution in Oltenia. Tudor Vladimirescu had been trained for a long time. He left for the north of Oltenia and in four days he reached the great Tismana monastery. From there he summoned his paramilitary force, the Pandurs, and called the people to battle. This is where I must end my communication. There remains only one point that Gheorghe Duncea's will clarifies. He recorded what his nephew, his son-in-law, Captain Bosoancă, told him. He said that being disguised, he went to see what was happening to Tudor Vladimirescu. This is how he saw that Tudor Vladimirescu was seized by a group of the Eteria and taken to the outskirts of Târgoviște. There he was tortured and killed, his stomach was split with a javelin, then ripped out with a suction cup. In memory of the great hero of the Romanian people, a beautiful stone monument was erected on the field from Padeş after the project of the architect State Baloşin.

The structural, electronic, elastic and thermodynamic properties of two cubic perovskites – SrGeO3 and SrZrO3 – were calculated using the first-principles methods for the pressure range from 0 to 25 GPa. Comparison of the calculated results with other literature data (whether available) yielded good agreement. Dependencies of all calculated properties – such as lattice constants, relative change of the unit cell volume, elastic constants and Debye temperature – on pressure were obtained, which enables reliable estimations of all these parameters for any value of hydrostatic pressure in the studied range.

The research to find an ideal bone substitute material is still ongoing. The majority of research is focused on calcium phosphates and predominantly on hydroxyapatite. However, forsterite, a magnesium silicate (FS, Mg2SiO4), has recently received a large attention in regards to biomedical applications due to its high bioactivity. Its superior mechanical properties also recommend it for load-bearing applications. This work focusses on the significance of the properties of FS as a promising candidate for bone substitutions.
