A new thermal power comparator of audio frequency has been developed, which is essentially a double bridge-type multipliers comprlsed of two multijunction thermal converters, containing two heaters. Together with a precision inductive voltage divider and current transformer for extending voltage and current range, the comparator enables establish a high precision power standard with ac-dc transfer error less than 15 ppm in audio frequency range.

Frequency Chain Our frequency chain to methane-stabilized 3.39 pm is shown in Fig.1. The chain consists of three stages and almost t e same as the one used in other standard laboratories23. We adopted the Josephson Junction point contact diode (J-J diode) as a harmonic-generator mixer at first stage of the mixing. The J-J diode can generally produce higher harmonics ( the highest we ever obtained?) is the 83rd of 50 GHz) than the other mixers, which enables us to use the cheaper microwave sources and components. At the other two mixing stages, W-Ni point contact diodes are used as a h~rnonic-generator zixeI-.

A measurement technique is described which is well suited for experiments in anechoic chambers to determine the far-field gain of two identical pyramidal horn antennas with an uncertainty of +or-0.1 dB. For this technique it is necessary to find out the location of the amplitude center of a horn for observation points within the far-field region. In addition, the amplitude center leads to the phase center in the 45 degrees plane of the radiation field. >

Design criteria have been established allowing the cancellation of spurious frequency offsets induced by gas-lens effects in He-Ne lasers stabilized by saturated absorption in an intra-cavity absorber cell. They have been checked experimentally using a specially designed laser. Good agreement is generally found between theory and experiment in spite of unexplained effects at low modulation amplitudes. Also observed in this special laser is the output effect, i.e. the frequency change which occurs when the photodetector used for servo-control is at one end or the other end of the resonator.

According to the Sarnpling Theorem, a given signal must be bandlimited to fo / 2 (fo is the sampling frequency) to be recoverable from its sampling data. In this paper, however, it is shown that by using several trains of interleaved sampling data, this limit can be expanded.

It was found that the thickness of amorphous ribbons changed periodically and the period in length corresponded to the circumference of the quenching roll. The accuracy of the mass-produced digitizer was improved by taking into account this periodicity to select the even ribbons in thickness.

We report on the progress towards the establishment of a quantum Hall resistance measurement system suitable for maintaining OHM NRC. This new system will be described and compared to the previously reported 15T, 20 mK potentiometric system. General problems concerning utilization of the Hall resistance as a unit will be discussed.

To evaluate the agreement among determinations of the quantized Hall resistance, RH, in terms of national representations of the ohm, the BIPM organized and conducted an international comparison of one-ohm resistance standards among twelve laboratories. A relative uncertainty of about 2 x 10-8 is expected for some of the resistance comparisons. Resulting values of RH will be presented.
