A new thermal power comparator of audio frequency has been developed, which is essentially a double bridge-type multipliers comprlsed of two multijunction thermal converters, containing two heaters. Together with a precision inductive voltage divider and current transformer for extending voltage and current range, the comparator enables establish a high precision power standard with ac-dc transfer error less than 15 ppm in audio frequency range.

We report on the progress towards the establishment of a quantum Hall resistance measurement system suitable for maintaining OHM NRC. This new system will be described and compared to the previously reported 15T, 20 mK potentiometric system. General problems concerning utilization of the Hall resistance as a unit will be discussed.

It was found that the thickness of amorphous ribbons changed periodically and the period in length corresponded to the circumference of the quenching roll. The accuracy of the mass-produced digitizer was improved by taking into account this periodicity to select the even ribbons in thickness.

Light shift of rubidium atomic clock was accurately measured. By controlling the laser frequency detuning based on the results of the measurements, the microwave frequeney inaccuracy of a rubidium atomic clock was reduced to t3.2x10/sup -11/.

A method of improving the resolution and reliability of a laser interferometer which is used for measuring displacement is proposed. By giving code numbers to the divided segments of the interference fringe interval, the theoretical resolution is improved up to 1/170 of the light wave length. As the error caused by environmental noise is not integrated, the reliability is improved.

We designed a new coordinate measuring equipment that uses the LC resonant circuit. The pointing devices of this equipment have no cords and no batteries and dose not directly contact the sensor board. It can measure coordinates at an accuracy of up to 0.1mm and also detect the state of the switch.

A technique for modeling multilayer thick film components using time domain measurements is presented. A multilayer inductor, formed by stacking spiral coils vertically with intervening dielectric layer, is used to demonstrate the technique. The component under test is placed at the end of a reference line, and a TDR waveform is acquired. A physically based model is developed to fit the TDR information.

The theory and the example of the concrete configuration of the bridge for three-terminal admittance measurement with selfcalibration ability is described. The new approach enabled to realize a simple bridge circuit with non-iterative calibration procedure which allows to meet the highest metrological requirements.

A calibration method using four short air tines with different length is introduced in this paper. It is more precise than Li's method because tesst square principle is used to resolve contradictory equation in the presence of noise [1], and more simple than Hoer's method because only linear equation and formula resolution are used in calculation [2].

This report presents an overview of recent developments on VLBI in Shanghai Observatory. The Shanghai Radio Station equipped with 25 meter antenna and other facilities was operational last year. The VLBI data processing system has been set up recently. It includes the S-2 VLBI data processor and a series of post correlation processing programs for astronomy as well as geodesy.
