The Design of MobiGP by Using Tamagotchi 基于电子宠物的MobiGP设计

This paper presents a design of an educational mobile game for learning object-orientated programming concepts. The project is called MobiGP. The design is based on methods which are the story line method and Tamagotchi game. This based on the fact that mobile devices are getting more diffused, the pervasiveness of mobile learning (m-learning) and also the massive success of Tamagotchi worldwide. Instead of just playing a game, we try to expand the purpose of playing Tamagotchi. It supports a new paradigm of playing games from entertainment to an educational activity as an attempt to provide a new mean for the students to improve their knowledge of object oriented programming (OOP) concepts instead of formal lectures and books. This paper explains more on the design part and methodologies chosen in developing MobiGP. Storyboard of the scenario for this game is also included in order to give a better view of how MobiGP will work. Our hypothesis is that, as students play this game, they will be able to understand the OOP concepts more and able to implement the knowledge in writing their own structured-programming codes during their course using any OOP languages. It is hoped that this game may be a useful method to improve the basic understanding of OOP concepts among the first year students of institute of higher learning (IHL).

Research on the Internet based Distance Collaborative Learning Server 基于Internet的远程协作学习服务器的研究

Today more and more attention has been put on the development of collaborative application software system over the Internet. How to make full use of Internet during the modern distance learning course is one of important applications. In this paper, the distance collaborative learning server over the Internet is put forward and its characters are described first. Then, the collaborative learning server system framework is discussed. Two kinds of key learning mode supported by the collaborative learning server are analyzed too. In the end, another important researching problem, the collaborative learning and management process is discussed. And researching result shows that the internet based distance collaborative learning server could provide a good system support for those distance learners.

Labview and Internet Based Remote Water Level Control Laboratory 基于Labview和Internet的远程水位控制实验室

A Labview and Internet based water level control system is developed, which enables the students, who study automatic control, the deeper understanding of the control theory and the real experiences on control system design and implementation. The system will enable the students to do the experiment in their free time through Internet with a remote computer. The system is of low cost and can also save the course hours for experimentation.

Data resource sharing is a key issue in the education grid. In this paper, ice focused on the data replication technology. After discussing a reasonable model for replica catalog management, ire supposed a dynamic replica placement strategy, which can improve the efficiency of replica placement successfully and adapt to dynamic changes from users' requests.

Ubiquitous Learning with SCORM 基于SCORM的泛在学习

Distance Learning technologies are important application issues of multimedia computing and networking. The talk starts from the discussion of current distance learning standards, with a highlight of some potential research problems. A survey of distance education technologies and projects toward possible solutions is given. The talk covers important topics, such as ubiquitous computing, instruction authoring and assessment, educational technology, and standards for distance learning. Demonstrations of distance learning projects follow the presentation. The conclusion of this talk points out suggestions and directions to the potential future university operations.

Modeling Intelligent Distance Education System Based On Agent 基于Agent的智能远程教育系统建模

Traditional research in distance education using agent technology is focused on system description, but lack of precise and detailed design specification. So they cannot satisfy the requirements for realizing a practical system. This paper studies intelligent distance education from a new point, focuses on agent's independent decision-making process; proposes a novel concept, namely education agent, argues its significance in construction of intelligent distance education system; in order to explain the concept clearly, formally defines multi-agent distance education system 's abstract concept model, which is made up of three sub-concept models, they are education environment, education process and education agent; finally, on the basis of concept model, designs student and teacher agent's architecture, which can directly lead to practical software implementation.

Learning from E-commerce for E-learning 从电子商务中学习电子学习

Both e-learning and e-commerce are increasingly of interest to researchers in recent years. A body of research has emerged regarding the two trends. It was considered that e-learning could be taken as a special type of e-commerce, in which the education service provided online is, in fact, the product that being purchased and delivered online from an e-commerce system. Based on this concept, some lessons or findings drawn from e-commerce researches should also be useful for e-learning system design. The purpose of this paper is to carry out a preliminary investigation on the e-learning system design considerations from users' (students') point of view by referring to some of the e-shop designing considerations. With literature reviewed and the author's previous study on e-commerce, the characteristics of e-learning systems were highlighted and compared with their counterparts in e-commerce systems. It was found that the characteristics of a product affect customers' preference of online shopping for that particular product. By the same token, an inference was made with this study that the content features of a particular course would influence students' acceptance of the e-learning approach. Content feature and its suitableness for online delivery may provide a new perspective when designing an e-course, and could be an early signal for the success of the service.

Research of the Fundamental Education Resource Grid System 基础教育资源网格系统研究

The concept of fundamental education resource grid (FERG) is brought forward to tackle China's problems such as the insufficient high quality fundamental education information resource, the regional unbalanced development of IT application in fundamental education, and the redundant resource construction. This article explains the principle and architecture, deployment model, communication model of nodes and application histological structure of FERG. By using standard and open general protocols and interfaces, the system can provide secure and reliable services, harmonize distributed resources, balance the load, optimize the performance, maximize the utilization of all kinds of software and hardware resources, and share the resource most efficiently and securely.
针对中国优质基础教育信息资源不足、基础教育信息化区域发展不平衡、资源建设冗余等问题,提出了基础教育资源网格的概念。本文阐述了FERG的原理和体系结构、部署模型、节点通信模型和应用组织结构。系统采用标准、开放的通用协议和接口,提供安全可靠的服务,协调分布式资源,均衡负载,优化性能,最大限度地利用各种软硬件资源,实现最高效、最安全的资源共享。

An Experimental Evaluation Method for Mechanical CAD Task of Students 学生机械CAD作业的实验评价方法

Nowaday, it is more and more popular for college students to undertake mechanical design by means of CAD. In order to evaluate this task, we worked out a plan for transmission shaft design, which was compiled into special program. Based on the plan, an experiment oriented mechanical design task of student was initiated, and a quantitative analysis was employed to evaluate the task. By test, the correlation between mental workload and experimental evaluation method is significant, The result of experiment showed that this evaluation method is feasible and effective.
