This paper addresses the problem of assuring undergraduate engineering students' experiential learning within a microcontroller-based laboratory, by means of a proper and accurate educational board system. The authors focus on the challenges existing in custom-made educational platforms and present the design considerations towards the development of a technically accurate multidisciplinary educational board system for microcontrollers.

The focus of this study is to demonstrate and discuss the cooperative classroom instruction effect based on CAI (computer aided instruction) to enhance the quality of students fostering which imitate the process of product manufacturing. The cooperative instruction model is made considering the combination of different courses, cooperation of different teachers of same course and inter-activity between teacher and student which aim to form systemic knowledge in students' thoughts with high efficacy, and it makes suggestions strongly that all instruction cases should designed systemically with some selected typical mechanics parts especially for different courses. Finally, it is verified by a case of mechanical engineering course named fundamental of mechanical manufacture.

This page puts forward boxed safe ambients with password (BSAP), which can solve the side effect from open operation and strengthen the control capability of its own boundary in mobile ambients (MA). Compared to MA, BSAP has the following advantages: 1) cancels open operation in MA and adds the communication operation primitive between ambients and sub-ambients; 2) adds in, out operation and adds password to in, out operations; 3) adds the del operation for ambient reclamation. In the end of this page, the authors use BSAP to describe and simulate the e-mail system; it shows that BSAP has a powerful modeling and simulating capability in the area of network computing.

In the current information society, courseware has become a mainly teaching tool of teachers. It has also become a basis reference for students. But it is very troublesome to distribute courseware to students after class. Firstly, the operation bothers teachers, it needs many human operations; secondly, it is very unsecure, many computer viruses propagated with movable storage devices. This paper presents a full automatic and security process flow. It realizes the proactive perceptive ability when someone plugs movable storage device into the teacher's computer, and it can distribute courseware automatic. It can stop viruses' auto running from movable storage devices. After it copies the courseware, it can remove the movable storage device automatic. So, its antivirus ability is very well.

This paper describes the development of and initial experiences with WebUPMS (a Web-based undergraduate project management system), a thesis project management system developed in the Department of Computer Science (DCS) at XVan Institute of Post and Telecommunications (XIPT). The system was developed to facilitate existing DCS traditional manual undergraduate project administering mode, and make all the operations, such as projects submitting by staff, assessing by the assigned assessors and choosing by students, process controlling, and final papers and marks submitting, to be finished on the Web with much higher efficiency. Experiments showed that this system is reliable, efficient and convenient.

Instead of building an e-Learning system from scratch, it can be assembled by choosing the required functionalities from a set of web services related to e-Learning. Web services eliminate many interoperability issues between components written and running on different hardware and software platforms. This study aims to construct a set of e-Learning web services. With these web services, new e-Learning system(s) can be constructed by choosing the services which are required. The developed web services include assessment, course management, grading, marking, metadata, registration and reporting web services. These web services are highly in demand as the functionalities for each of the web services are very useful and important in e-Learning systems. In Marking web service, rubrics can be defined to assist in assessment evaluation. In Metadata web service, learning object metadata (LOM) is applied to capture the description of the learning objects.

This paper presents a novel way to develop a software tool for the mechanical 3D animation CAI courseware design in terms of the characteristics and the dedicated requirement of the mechanical major courses teaching. It applies the HOOPS components developed by USA HOOPS Ltd. and using the component as a kernel graphic display engine. The three main components of the software tool are discussed in the paper on how to develop with the COM (Component Object Model) technology, i.e., the independent 3D graphic display component, a 3D courseware design process manager which is used to record and replay the design 3D animation scheme, and the last one, a math library which encapsulates the common math calculation equations about matrix elements and vector elements. A prototype system for the mechanical 3D animation CAI courseware design has been developed that is capable of the interoperable feature and its feasible and effective has been verified by some practical cases.
