Language style is defined as the choice of words used by a specific group of people when speak in a place and in one condition. It is very important for people to express their ideas, people use style depend on with whom they speak and where they speaking too. This research is aimed to analyze language style used by the characters in “Wonder” a novel by R.J. Palacio. The analysis was based on the five language styles proposed in Martin Joos’s theory. The research was conducted through a qualitative descriptive method. Qualitative descriptive method was used in analyzing the data because it will be explained with words, phrases, and sentences. The researcher used qualitative method in which the data was collected by reading the novel then finding out the utterances that contains language style. The data in this research were taken from the utterances of the novel. The researcher only focuses on conversation containing those five types of language style. Later on, the researcher classified them based on the types of language style that were found on the movie. The finding of this researcher is the researcher found there are five types of language style that is used by the main character, the five type of language style are Frozen Style (Oratorical Style), Formal Style (Deliberative Style), Consultative Style, Casual Style and Intimate Style.

This research is aimed at analyzing students’ problems in pronouncing -ed endings in reading aloud at Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat registered in 2022/2023 academic year. This research was conducted since there were lots of students got difficulties in pronouncing -ed endings in the classroom activities. In addition, the research method used by the reseracher was qualitative descriptive. However, the instruments used were reading aloud test, interview, and audio recording. The researcher took 42 students as the sample to be tested. After conducting the test, the researcher got 30 students who got a low score, and the were interviewed as the sample of this research. The findings of this research showed that most problems occurred were caused by the difference between the way to pronounce the words of their mother tongue and English, locality (environment), personality, motivation, and lack of knowledge.

Penelitian ini membahas tentang kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan budaya baca Alquran di SMP Al Furqan Madrasatul Quran Tebuireng Jombang. Dalam hal ini, masalah yang dihadapi adalah Bagaimana seharusnya kepala sekolah menangani dan mendorong siswa peningkatan budaya baca Alquran di SMP Al Furqan Madrasatul Quran Tebuireng Jombang sedangkan tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan kepemimpinan kepala Sekolah dalam meningkatkan budaya baca Alquran, gaya Kepemimpinan Kepala sekolah, serta kendala- kendala dalam peningkatan budaya baca Alquran di SMP Al Furqan Madrasatul Quran Tebuireng Jombang. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus dengan deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data yang berasal dari respon kepala sekolah diperoleh melalui analisis data. Sedangkan penyerapan data dilakukan melalui pengamatan dan triangulasi. Triangulasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah triangulasi teknik dan sumber. Kesimpulan penelitian ini, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan budaya baca Alquran di SMP Al Furqan Madrasatul Quran Tebuireng Jombang selaku kepala sekolah dan juga Sebagai seorang pemimpin, ia senantiasa mengembangkan, mengimplementasikan, dan mengimplementasikan ide-ide baru sesuai dengan visi dan misi sekolah. Wawancara kepala sekolah melakukan beberapa hal dalam membaca Alquran yaitu kepribadian, kemampuan memberi arahan, kemampuan mengambil keputusan, kemampuan mengambil tindakan, dan kemampuan komunikasi yang baik bersama para guru dan bagaimana beliau membangun kepemimpinan demokratis berbasis kekeluargaan, agar para guru dapat menyalurkan ide kreatifnya kepada kepala sekolah tanpa rasa canggung demi kemajuan serta tercapainya visi dan misi sekolah.

The difficulties encountered are very diverse, ranging from a lack of understanding of the problem to be studied, limited references, lack of mastery of theory, not having the desire to start writing, being busy working, and so on. This study aims to analyze the difficulties of seventh semester students in writing scientific papers. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Subject This research is students of seventh semester (semester VII) or final year who are under thesis guidance. Data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire. A difficulty questionnaire was administered to students who were writing their thesis. Data analysis techniques using percentage techniques are then described. The results of the research generally obtained information that students had difficulty in putting ideas into scientific writing, namely around 58.47%. The use of statistics in data processing is a percentage of 41.64%, and the telling of research results is a percentage of 54.17%. The results of the research are expected to be input, information and reference for all students of the Faculty of Culture, Management and Business of the Mandalika University of Education so that the difficulty factor for students in completing thesis can be overcome.

Anak-anak broken home biasanya mengacu pada anak-anak yang berasal dari keluarga yang telah mengalami banyak gangguan atau kehancuran keluarga, seperti perceraian, perpisahan, penahanan orang tua, atau kematian orang tua. Melihat dampak berbahaya yang ditimbulkan, konseling dan dukungan psikologis dapat membantu anak-anak untuk mengatasi dampak negatif dari situasi tersebut dan membantu mereka untuk tumbuh dan berkembang dengan cara yang sehat dan positif. Konseling dapat membantu anak-anak broken home dalam mengatasi masalah mereka dan mengembangkan keterampilan serta sumber daya yang dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi masa depan dengan lebih baik. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemberian konseling realitas pada beberapa siswa broken home di SMP Kristen Tomohon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan yang dilakukan dengan cara kualitatif dengan teknik analisis data interaktif. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian konseling tersebut cukup memberikan hasil yang baik kepada masing-masing individu. Melihat dampak berbahaya yang ditimbulkan, konseling dan dukungan psikologis dapat membantu anak-anak untuk mengatasi dampak negatif dari situasi tersebut dan membantu mereka untuk tumbuh dan berkembang dengan cara yang sehat dan positif. Konseling dapat membantu anak-anak broken home dalam mengatasi masalah mereka dan mengembangkan keterampilan serta sumber daya yang dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi masa depan dengan lebih baik. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemberian konseling realitas pada beberapa siswa broken home di SMP Kristen Tomohon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan yang dilakukan dengan cara kualitatif dengan teknik analisis data interaktif. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian konseling tersebut cukup memberikan hasil yang baik kepada masing-masing individu. Mahasiswa semester awal merupakan masa peralihan dari masa SMA ke masa perkuliahan , jadi ada banyak perubahan perubahan situasi dan kondisi yang dialami oleh seseorang yang akan duduk di bangku kuliah. Tugas dan berbagai kegiatan kampus yang akan terus ada hingga mahasiswa sampai pada tahap wisuda ,tidak mudah dalam meraih semua itu ,membutuhkan kepercayaan diri yang cukup dalam mengerjakan hingga menyajikannya dan menyelesaikannya , namun beberapa mahasiswa mempunyai rasa cemas akan hal tersebut , mulai dari rasa takut , gugup, hingga cemas tidak dapat menyelesaikan studinya. Ada berbagai alasan. Malu tampil dimuka umum karena takut ditertawai, ada yang kurang merasa puas akan penampilannya , takut dikritik , dan masih banyak lagi pikiran pikiran negative yang membuat tingkat kecemasan meningkat , hingga tak sedikit berujung pada gangguan fisik. Seorang mahasiswa semester awal berusia 19 tahun , memiliki pengetahuan akademik yang baik namun kurang percaya diri dan cemas akan studinya akan menjadi subjek pada penelitian ini,

This study aimed to analyze factors affecting students in writing thesis. This research was qualitative research with descriptive design. The participants of this research were 20 students of the eighth semester students of English Department Program at FBMB UNDIKMA 2022/2023. The researchers used questionnaire and interview as the instruments. The instruments were focused on the three factors: psychological, sociocultural and linguistics factors. Based on the result of questionnaire, it showed that in psychological factor the students obtained 75% score, meanwhile in sociocultural factor the students obtained 71% score, and the highest factor affecting students in writing thesis was linguistic factor which reaching the score of 80%. Based on the average of those three factors showed that the students obtained 76% score; it means that the students have high score criteria. Moreover, based on the interviews showed that there were no students answers disagree toward the questions of interview. Alternatively, it can be concluded that the result of questionnaire and interview was matched. Consequently, it can be suggested that, the eighth semester students of English Department Program at FBMB UNDIKMA have to pay more attention in linguistic factor, since this factor was the highest percentage that can interfere graduation process.

The research is to find out the opening activities of teaching carried out by English teachers to motivate students. This type of research is qualitative in nature with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and field notes. Based on the results of research and discussion of opening teaching activities by English teachers to motivate students in class, it can be concluded that the skills of English teachers in class in opening learning include: arousing students' attention, namely variations in teaching styles, use of instructional media and interaction patterns. , namely excited and enthusiastic, arousing curiosity, and generating conflicting ideas. Giving references, namely conveying learning objectives and determining activity steps. Demonstrating relevance, namely determining stepping stones, generating new knowledge, providing continuous material. Regarding all of these indicators, the researcher found that the English teacher's opening teaching activities had been carried out although not all the indicators and results of the study found that the teacher motivated student learning to open teaching activities by creating an active learning process such as making eye contact, providing discussion with questions and then students answer according to their knowledge, the teacher's character is friendly, and explains the material with clear intonation.
