The time we live in is a period of major technical, economic and social changes, which is explained by the transition from a conventional industrial society to a new knowledge-based society, with the greatest importance being not the increase in volume and types of production, but the creation of new and fundamentally new knowledge applied in these productions. Therefore, this new knowledge society will be based on new knowledge generating new products and technologies and new forms of governance in economy, manufacturing, ecology, humanitarian and social processes. This report looks at the possibility of turning knowledge into innovation and innovation into an effective product concept. Obviously, on the basis of innovation and innovation, the present century will be a period of qualitative change and of people's lives.

The environment in which the market economy operates has a significant impact on the economic performance. The democratic political system has the potential to create favorable conditions both for the functioning of the market economy and for entrepreneurial activity. At present, the development of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture are among the main priorities of the European Union. In connection with this, the authors aim to examine the extent to which in Bulgaria there are factors that favor the development and promotion of entrepreneurial culture in the society, to identify the challenges and to formulate recommendations for optimizing the environment.

As the studies and empirical data indicate that innovations are a significant factor for improving competitiveness, we believe that scientific research in this area may provide support for those who seek to make their business more innovative. There are many works dedicated to general effect of innovations on growth, but less are focused on the role of innovations in certain sectors. Such sector is might be the wine industry. The wine industry in Bulgaria has a long history, experience and has the potential for development. That is why we examine the scope of innovations that can be implemented in the wine industry. Alongside we study the potential of Bulgarian wine industry. The results show that the wine producers in Bulgaria make slow steps towards more contemporary development of the sector, but the more significant results are yet to come.

The article analyzes the existing methodological approaches to the definition of sustainable development at the macro and micro levels. It is proved that a single method for determining the level of sustainable development of the state does not exist. However, according to the analyzed approaches, the leaders in sustainable development are highly developed countries. Their income is enough to ensure economic well-being, as well as to develop the social and environmental component. It is proved that in spite of the existence of a single standard for the compilation of non-financial reporting on the sustainable development of enterprises, there is no mechanism for developing a strategy for their sustainable development. It is proposed to use the tools of Industry 4.0, which allow to optimize the economic and environmental components of the sustainable development of enterprises. The social component requires further study in the context of the implementation of Industry 4.0.

The aim of this article was to investigate engagement skills that encourage team motivation as central set of line manager’s role. We defined engagement construct in terms of objectively registered records of employees’ assessment about the following engagement skills of their supervisors: Leadership, Strategic narrative, Employee voice, Reliability, Involvement and Supervision. The proposed line managers’ engagement skills model was examined in a sample of 46 employees who evaluated their supervisors’ people-related competences. 10 line manages were evaluated. The results showed that the developed into the company People management strategy and respectively the level of line managers commitment skills are predictor of the engagement dimensions. The findings of this study could be used to improve future research on engagement excellence.

The basis of this paper is a survey conducted by the author among people working in the different enterprises within creative and culture industries. The major aim of this qualitative survey was to define the key factors according the people from the staff (employee point if view) that help to build good project team in the company from the creative industries. The findings show the important role of the personnel leadership skills of project manager and the transparent procedure for its selection with clear and undeniable criteria. On the other hand, the internal relations based on mutual trust and confidence are crucial for effective and efficient work of a project team.

The innovations are something that have the potential to support the growth of the enterprises and it is suggested that every entrepreneur would invest in innovations. Nevertheless, not everyone does so because there are many factors that influence the innovation performance. One of these factors is the political environment. The latter can affect the innovation performance in various ways. Political instability can have many forms and one of them is frequent change of governments. Political environment in Bulgaria in the period 2007-2017 is marked exactly by frequent change of governments. The authors of the current study aims at identifying the relationship between this form of political instability and the innovation performance of the business enterprises.

Monitoring process is the core of the overall performance management in any distributed system node as it stays in the beginning of the control cycle – from monitoring to planning and to enacting procedures. It determines the effectiveness of planning and control decisions and system actions as well as the performance cost measured as by the generated system overloads. This paper presents a systematic scheme of the approaches to local monitoring process of a system node. The information precision of the current system state is orthogonal to monitoring system overload. We describe the linking category between these two concepts as monitoring granularity and present a systematization of possible approaches which are based on the concept of granularity. Further development of this taxonomy will be the system-range monitoring based on homogenous or heterogeneous local monitoring and case studies of applicability and effectiveness.

The main innovative technologies and the principle of operation of OLED, FOLED, PHOLED, TOLED, QLED and RGB diodes are examined in this work. Luminous efficiency and the operating time dependencies on the working temperature of the diode are presented. The highly efficient light sources presented are also considered from the point of view of their energy use: for their production, use and subsequent safe disposal. In this way, an economic and environmental assessment of the benefits of their use in industry and households has been made.
