Abstract. Writing is considered to be one of the most challenging skills to learn. Accordingly, some issues appeared and may be faced by the students while writing. One of the writing issues that can be a serious problem is writing anxiety. Hence, in this study, the researcher tried to find out the eleven graders students' writing anxiety levels and investigate the significant difference of writing anxiety on students' writing achievement in an explanation text writing. This study used quantitative approach with ex-post facto research design. The researcher conducted this study at one of the public senior high schools in Gresik. There were 30 eleven graders taken as subjects from one class. Then, to gather the data, two instruments were used. First were the Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory (SLWAI) close-ended questionnaires. Second was students' writing scores in an explanation text writing. To analyze the data, the researcher used both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (ANOVA). The results found that the eleven grades’ students had a moderate level of writing anxiety. And the somatic anxiety was dominant had by them. Another result revealed that there is no significant difference in each type of writing anxiety on the students' writing achievement in explanation text. And only cognitive anxiety had a moderate size effect on the student's scores. So, based on this study, the writing anxiety did not influence whether the students succeed in their explanation text writing. Keywords: Writing Anxiety, Writing Achievement, Explanation Text

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses terbentuknya dan memahami perbedaan antara suffiks stata I dan II dalam morfologi leksikal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan analisis isi (Content Analysis). Penulis mengumpulkan data tentang kata yang memiliki suffks infleksi dan derivasi dalam cerita pendek The Queen of Spades and Other stories by Aleksandr Pushkin. Teknik yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data adalah sebagai berikut: (1) mencatat data pada ranah kata yang memiliki suffiks infleksi dan derivasi (2) mencari efek dari proses terbentknya suffiks tersebut terhadap kata yang diikutinya (3) membuktikan data yang telah ditemukan dan menjelaskannya berdasarkan ilmu morfologi yang diambil dari teori Katamba (1993). Dari analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari delapan objek data, terdapat 3 data yang berjenis strata I dan 5 data yang berjenis strata II. Penelitian ini dilakukan agar kita memahami proses terbentukna jenis-jenis suffiks dengan segala efek yang ditimbulkan terhadap kata yang diikutinya.
本研究的目的是了解词汇形态学中词素的形成和理解词素的不同之处。本研究采用的方法是描述性定性方法,具有内容分析方法。作者在亚历山大·普希金(Aleksandr Pushkin)的短篇小说《黑桃女王和其他故事》(Queen of Spades and Other stories)中收集了词源和词源的数据。为获得数据的技术做如下:(1)记录的数据域有suffiks拐点和古老的词(2)寻找过程的影响terbentknya suffiks证明了其对这样的词(3)科学发现和解释基于形态学的数据取自Katamba理论(1993年)。根据这一分析,我们可以得出结论,在8个数据对象中,有3种类型的数据和5种类型的数据II。这项研究是为了让我们了解每种苏菲病的形成过程及其对单词的影响。

Penelitian ini mengungkapkan penggunaan yakuwarigo dengan sumber data Game Twisted Wonderland. Yakuwarigo atau bahasa peran merupakan variasi bahasa khusus yang sering digunakan dalam karya fiksi yang berasal dari stereotip yang mencakup kosa kata, tata bahasa, ungkapan, intonasi dan berfungsi untuk menonjolkan dan menguatkan suatu peran karakter. Teori yakuwarigo dikemukakan oleh Satoshi Kinsui. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan yakuwarigo pada karakter Game Twisted Wonderland dan latar belakang karakter menggunakan yakuwarigo tersebut. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik simak catat. Data yang digunakan adalah tuturan kalimat oleh enam tokoh dari sumber data Game Twisted Wonderland. Dari total 33 data, peneliti terdapat enam jenis penggunaan yakuwarigo dalam karakter Game Twisted Wonderland yaitu, roujingo, joseigo, danseigo, bushi kotoba, hougen, dan chara gobi. Peneliti juga menemukan beberapa hal yang melatarbelakangi penggunaan yakuwarigo pada enam tokoh yaitu faktor usia, perilaku, daerah atau suku, dan kepribadian.

Saat ini akses masuk masyarakat Indonesia ke negara Jepang dapat dikatakan mudah dengan banyaknya program magang kerja maupun bekerja dengan visa kerja berketerampilan khusus. Dalam interaksi di masyarakat Jepang yang berbeda latar belakang budaya, diperlukan adanya suatu keterampilan atau kecerdasan yang disebut dengan kecerdasan budaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan bentuk kecerdasan budaya dalam interaksi sosial di masyarakat Jepang serta peranannya sehingga terjalin hubungan yang harmonis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis bentuk kecerdasan budaya mencakup kecerdasan budaya kognitif, meta kognitif, motivasi, dan sikap. Kecerdasan budaya kognitif mencakup aturan bahasa Jepang, keyakinan agama, ekspresi non verbal, nilai-nilai seni, norma dalam pernikahan, hukum dan pemerintahan, dan ekonomi Jepang. Adanya kecerdasan budaya membentuk kesadaran sikap saling menghormati, tidak adanya praduga, menghindari konflik yang diterapkan ketika berinteraksi, muncul rasa percaya diri dan keyakinan saat bersosialisasi dengan orang Jepang, dan adanya perubahan perilaku apabila dibutuhkan saat berinteraksi.

This present study aimed to explore students’ attitudes towards code mixing in English classroom through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. There were 30 students involved and 5 of the students were chosen to be the interviewees. The results from the two instruments showed that the teacher frequently used English with Indonesian in English classroom, but they had a positive attitude. In contrast, the majority of the students were not happy when their teacher used full English in the classroom. They believed that code mixing was a practical solution and strategy applied by the teacher to make them learn English more easily.

This research aimed to describe how the students use verbs in their writing descriptive paragraph. The sample uses are the students of semester 1 class B with the total number of students are 21 students. The instrument uses in this research are test and interview. After analyzing, the results shown that in test 1 students score average are 84.2. in test 2 the average of students score is 88.47. in writing descriptive paragraph, the result shown that there are still some students made mistakes in using to be present and past, I joining to be and verbs, in diction, to infinitive, tenses and missing verb. Based on interview, shown that writing is a difficult subject for some the students. Also, They ignore about grammatical rule when they are writing.

Penerapan teknik dikte dan shadowing melalui penelitian tindakan ini diharapkan mampu membantu mengatasi kesulitan dalam pembelajaran menyimak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran peningkatan keterampilan menyimak bahasa Jepang melalui penggunaan teknik dikte dan shadowing pada mata kuliah chuujoukyuu choukai. Penelitian dilakukan melalui tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dengan menggunakan instrument soal tes formatif dan soal angket. Berdasarkan hasil tes formatif, diketahui terdapat peningkatan pada nilai rata-rata kelas. Pada fase awal sebelum tindakan rata-rata kelas untuk keterampilan menyimak adalah 61.78, pada akhir siklus I meningkat menjadi 67.44, dan pada akhir siklus II meningkat menjadi 71.06. Gambaran keterampilan menyimak bahasa Jepang di akhir siklus adalah; terdapat 4 responden yang memiliki tingkat keterampilan yang istimewa. Terdapat 7 responden yang memiliki keterampilan baik. Terdapat 7 responden yang memiliki keterampilan cukup. Pada akhir siklus ini sudah tidak ada responden dengan tingkat keterampilan yang kurang dan gagal Sedangkan dari hasil angket diketahui responden merespon dengan positif terhadap metode pembelajaran dikte dan shadowing pada mata kuliah chuujoukyuu choukai.

The paper was aimed at finding out what kind of the translation procedures used in simple sentence in Negeri Lima Menara novel, how they were applied in translation, and also finding out the most dominan procedure used in the translation. The writer took 50 data from Negeri Lima Menara’s novel and its translation. This research used a qualitative method. Firstly the writer searched the simple sentences in the original novel and compared to its translation, then she determined kinds of procedure used in the translation by comparing to the original one such as the change of structure and content of meaning after the process of translation. The writer concluded that from sixteen translation procedure, the translator used ten procedures in simple sentence’s translation. They were literal translation (15), modulation (11), transposition (8), expansion (4), reduction (4), transference (3), descriptive equivalent (2), cultural equivalent (1), functional equivalent (1), and couplet (1). Literal translation was the most dominant procedure in this translation. This procedure was commonly applied when SL had literally equivalent replacement in the TL. It happened because of the similarity of the simple sentence patterns in both SL and TL. Meanwhile, the translator used other translation procedures since she found the cultural words, the diffrences of grammatical structure, and the context of perception.

The writer took 50 data from Negeri Lima Menara’s novel and its translation. This research used a qualitative method. Firstly the writer searched the simple sentences in the original novel and compared to its translation, then she determined kinds of procedure used in the translation by comparing to the original one such as the change of structure and content of meaning after the process of translation. The writer concluded that from sixteen translation procedure, the translator used ten procedures in simple sentence’s translation. They were literal translation (15), modulation (11), transposition (8), expansion (4), reduction (4), transference (3), descriptive equivalent (2), cultural equivalent (1), functional equivalent (1), and couplet (1). Literal translation was the most dominant procedure in this translation. This procedure was commonly applied when SL had literally equivalent replacement in the TL. It happened because of the similarity of the simple sentence patterns in both SL and TL. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku seksual di Jepang dan hubungannya dengan fenomena resesi seks di negara tersebut. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan untuk menguraikan pembahasan dengan metode studi literatur. Sumber data primer menggunakan video wawancara dan data resmi lembaga pemerintah Jepang. Hasil studi mengungkapkan beberapa temuan utama meliputi: 1) Konstruksi sosial yang kuat terkait pernikahan dan norma gender tradisional yang menciptakan tekanan sosial; 2) Pengaruh signifikan media dan budaya populer dalam membentuk persepsi dan preferensi individu terhadap hubungan seksual; 3) Budaya kerja yang menuntut mengakibatkan kurangnya waktu dan sumber daya untuk menjalin hubungan intim dan membentuk keluarga; 4) Kondisi ekonomi yang tidak stabil mempengaruhi pilihan rasional pemuda Jepang terkait pernikahan dan memiliki anak. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi penting dalam mengatasi fenomena resesi seks di Jepang.

Abstract. Degree adverbs are one of the important and difficult learning points in Teaching Chinese as a second language (TCSL). Commonly, Chinese degree adverbs are divided into two types and four levels. Each type and level have different collocations, semantic features, etc. According to the academic article collections in CNKI and google scholar, research on Chinese degree adverbs from the perspective of TCSL for Indonesian students is still very limited. This study discusses the use of Chinese degree Adverbs by Indonesian students. This study aims to describe the student selection of Chinese degree adverbs and to find the most frequent error types in using four commonly used comparative degree adverbs: low-level ‘shaowei’, medium-level ‘bijiao’, high-level ‘geng’, and extreme-level ‘zui’. The approach to this study is a quantitative-qualitative method. The samples are Chinese Department students at one of the universities in Bandung city. The data was collected from two exercises. This study applies the error analysis procedure introduced by McDowell to find the most frequent error types. The result shows that the students tend to use pure degree adverbs, and the most used pure degree adverb is high-level ‘hen’, followed by its synonymous words ‘tebie’, ‘feichang’, ‘tai’, and ‘shifen’. In using synonymous degree adverbs, students tend to use the first learned word. The form of exercises in the teaching material should encourage the student to use more varied degree adverbs. The most frequent error types in using four different levels of comparative degree adverbs are selection in bijiao word sentences and zui word sentences, misordering of degree adverbs, and the omission of complement ‘yidianr/yixie’ in shaowei word sentences. The major cause of the errors is intralingual interference. This study made some suggestions for the improvement of Chinese degree adverbs teaching material based on the findings.Keywords: Chinese Degree Adverbs, Selection Tendencies, Frequent Error Types, Indonesian Students
