This study aims to dismantle the strengthening of patriarchal culture and its impact on women’s position in the adaptation of the Sitti Nurbaya novel by Marah Rusli to the Nurbaya musical series directed by Naya Anindita and Venytha Yoshianthini and broadcast on Indonesia Kaya Youtube channel. The research method used is analytical descriptive by applying the concept of ecranisation, a feminist approach and aspects of musicality in musical theater, in addition to digital cinematography as readings of a film theater. The results show the transformation of the main female character’s resistance to patriarchal culture in novels and musical series. In the novel, resistance is targeted at criticism of domestic practices in the household. In contrast, in musical theater the resistance is extended to contemporary issues, namely dreams of freedom and ideals. In addition, the resistance of the main female character also shows her agency, which can influence other oppressed women to fight back. However, despite the transformation of resistance, the adaptation still reflects the strengthening of patriarchal culture. In the musical series, the patriarchal culture that occurs is not only carried out by male domination but by the involvement of women in strengthening patriarchal domination.

This study aims to determine (1) the design of comic-based teaching materials; (2) the feasibility of comic-based teaching materials; and (3) the effectiveness of comic-based teaching materials. The scope of this development is limited only to planning, materials, and evaluation in the learning process. The method used in this development research is the R&D (Research and Development) research and development method, which is a type of method used to produce certain products and test the effectiveness of these products. This R&D method uses the Brog and Gall development research design adapted by Sugiyono. The data collection technique used a questionnaire in the form of a questionnaire and a test of the ability to paraphrase the hikayat text into a short story. After the final trial, students' learning completeness in learning to paraphrase the text of a hikayat into a short story was 88.23%. The developed teaching materials were declared very feasible through material expert tests (91.66%), media/design experts stated that they were very feasible (88.88%), and educational practitioners stated that they were very feasible (87.5%). Therefore, comic teaching material in learning to paraphrase hikayat text into short stories can be used as a supporting source in the learning process.

Moroccan francophone literature raises various criticisms, especially the issues of colonialism and gender. Driss Chraïbi is a Moroccan writer who investigated these issues in La Civilisation, ma Mère !.... This novel is told from the male perspective of a mother’s struggle in fighting gender discrimination in the French Protectorate, which later gives rise to a critique. This article aims to analyse how the critique of the patriarchal discourse is constructed in the novel. The method being used is qualitative and is supported by Roland Barthes’s narrative structure theory, A.J. Greimas’ actantial scheme theory, Gérard Genette’ focalization theory, and theory of postcolonial feminism by Gayatri Spivak. The result of this article is the critique on the patriarchal discourse is constructed through the postcolonial discourse that utilises the disposition of the “I” character as the indigenous man of the young generation, who encourages the deployment of Western culture to civilize women. Modern civilisation also becomes a hero for the Mother character, which is a subaltern, in her success in realising freedom and diminishing patriarchal discrimination. Nevertheless, her mindset and mental condition are still colonized due to her adjacency to the colonial legacy of the West.

This study aims to describe the depiction of human characters in Russian phraseology that contains the word птица/ptitsa/ 'poultry'. The study is descriptive qualitative and uses an ethnolinguistics approach to analyze the data, especially to analyze the meaning of phraseology based on the background of its appearance . The data are excerpts of sentences in novels, books, or electronic newspapers collected through the ruscorpora.ru website using the listening method with note-taking techniques. Data analysis used referential pairing method with ethnolinguistic approach. Seven phraseological data containing the words курица/kuritsa/ 'chicken', гусь/gus'/ 'black swan', лебед/lebed'/ 'white swan', and гоголь/gogol'/ 'golden-eyed duck' were found. Of the eight data obtained, seven data are phraseologies that express bad character, and one phraseology that expresses good character. The word курица/kuritsa/ 'chicken' represents a bad character in the form of a fool, someone with poor and careless writing, and someone who has no stand. The word гусь/gus'/ 'black swan' represents the character of someone who is cunning, лебед/lebed'/ 'white swan' represents the good character of loyalty and the bad character of laziness, while, the word гоголь/gogol'/ 'golden-eyed duck' represents arrogance.

Writing learning is a process aimed at developing students' creativity in writing. One of the writing lessons taught at school is writing expository texts. Expository texts are texts that contain explanations of information and knowledge. In learning to write, teachers should guide and facilitate students with good, appropriate, and quality teaching to achieve optimal learning objectives. In line with this, this study aims to find out the initial analysis in the form of a set of information needed for the learning model development program. The learning model developed is a social community learning model in learning exposition writing at Vocational High School (SMK). The research method used is descriptive qualitative conducted by survey method. Based on the research findings and data analysis, teachers need a new learning model to support learning effectiveness and students achieve learning objectives. Students learn in groups and prefer learning with peer tutors during the learning process. Learning that involves friends has been known that students can understand the material, solve problems together, and improve their skills.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memberikan pembelajaran bermakna yang menghasilkan sebuah produk berupa karya. Metode yang digunakan yakni deskriptif kulitatif. Metode ini memotret kegiatan pembelajaran apa adanya. Pembelajaran yang dilakukan yakni menulis surat pribadi. Agar pembelajaran menulis surat pribadi menjadi pembelajaran bermakna maka maka dipilih tema “menulis surat pribadi kepada Presiden Republik Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo”. Model yang digunakan untuk mencapai kompetensi dan kebermaknaan dipilih model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (Project Based Learning). Dalam pembelajaran menulis surat pribadi kepada presiden, pembelajaran berpusat pada peserta didik sedangkan guru sebagai fasilitator, mulai dengan merencanakan, melaksanakan,sampai pada terwujudnya produk berupa surat yang dikirimkan kepada presiden melalui kantor pos terdekat. Isi surat memuat pengalaman kontektual dan harapan pribadi peserta didik kepada presiden terkait peristiwa aktual. Produk berupa 27 pucuk surat pribadi kepada presiden ini dalam waktu tiga bulan setelah pengiriman mendapatkan balasan dari Kesekretariatan Negara.

This research aims to describe the subject-object and writer-reader positions in the short story "Sepasang Mata Dinaya yang Terpenjara" by Ni Komang Ariani. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research is the storyteller, who is the one who tells the story to the reader. The object of this research is how Diyana's position as a child from childhood has been positioned as a person who only accepts reproaches from her mother without resistance and how her position in her husband's eyes is not considered her presence. This research data was collected by analyzing short stories published in Kompas newspaper on May 20, 2010, using Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis. This research's instrument is the researcher who captures the language style conveyed in the short story. The results of this study show how the subject-object position in the story where the object of the story is more likely to accept her condition, although there is a little resistance but only in his mind. While the subject-object position here is that the subject leads the reader to accept the author's ideas and sympathize with the object.

Tujuan penelitian ini membahas tentang kritik sosial berdasarkan masalah sosial dalam novel Dua Barista yang terdiri atas kritik sosial masalah disorganisasi keluarga, kritik sosial masalah kemiskinan, kritik sosial masalah budaya, dan kritik sosial masalah lingkungan sosial. Masalah sosial dalam kehidupan sangatlah kompleks dan bervariasi. Masalah-masalah tersebut bisa berdiri sendiri ataupun saling berkaitan antara masalah satu dengan masalah yang lain. Hal itulah yang menjadi alasan peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis dalam novel Dua Barista. Adapun hasil penelitian ini didapatkan; kritik sastra yang terdiri dari tiga pokok masalah sosial, yaitu kritik sosial masalah kemiskinan, kritik sosial masalah disorganisasi sosial, dan kritik sosial masalah lingkungan hidup.

This research aims to describe gender injustice in the novel Azab dan Sengsara by Merari Siregar and gender injustice in the novel Cantik itu Luka by Eka Kurniawan. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques used reading and note-taking techniques. The research data sources are primary data sources, namely (1) the novel Azab dan Sengsara by Merari Siregar (1920), published in Jakarta Balai Pustaka with 163 pages, and (2) the novel Cantik itu Luka by Eka Kurniawan (2002) published in Jakarta PT Gramedia Utama with 505 pages. The results of the data analysis found gender injustice in terms of marginalization, subordination, stereotypes, and violence in the novel Azab dan Sengsara by Merari Siregar and the novel Cantik itu Luka by Eka Kurniawan.

This study describes the types of phonological changes that occur from the Minangkabau protolanguage in an isolect of Koto Tinggi. The research is conducted by applying listening and speaking methods, as well as recording and note-taking techniques in the process of providing data. Triangulation techniques are used to test the validity of the data. Furthermore, the data are analyzed by using a top-down reconstruction approach and an articulatory phonetic method. After being compared, the data are grouped based on the types of sound changes. The data analysis results are presented descriptively using formal and informal methods. The result shows that Minangkabau protolanguage undergoes phonological changes in the isolect of Koto Tinggi in the form of (1) lenition; (2) fortition; (3) dissimilation; (4) sound loss, which includes apheresis, syncope, apocope, and haplology; (5) sound addition, namely prothesis and paragoge; and (6) diphthongization process. Phonological changes do not occur in all sounds and are incomplete in all positions.
